He put flowers on our table, ribbons on our drinks, took our picture and gave it to us and provided amazing service. He was truly the best server I've ever had. The food was also incredible.   • "Eaten here over a dozen times. Tonight service was glacially slow. Took 45 minutes to get our mowie wowie salad, over 2 hour dinner. Servers were excellent, apologized many times as did the managers. Maybe the staff meeting that ended at 5:30 was the reason??"

  • "I took an im portant co-worker to dinner at Roy's. Our server was informational and effecient. The food was quality times 2. I had a Korean Pork Chop with kim chee rice. The combination worked perfectly. The tempura vegatables as a side for table was a huge hit. I love the unique combinations of food alway on the meu. It keeps me coming back."

  • "We always make a point to have at least one dinner here every trip we make to Orlando. Their steaks and seafood are cooked to perfection. They stand behind their dishes which alway amazes me. If you're not happy they will make it right. We ordered the filet mignon, petite filet and butter poached lobster, and Roy's trio from their regular menu, and the prosciutto wrapped shrimp from the chef's menu, everyone was more than happy with their choices. We also ordered the spicy korean chili fried rice and the truffled bacon mac and cheese, both were incredible. Make sure you save room for their pineapple upside down cake, chocolate souffle, and creme brule."

  • "Roy's is a favorite of mine, although I don't go that often. Menu varies so there's always something new to try. Made a reservation online and table was ready as soon as we arrived. Food was excellent. Service very attentive with good recommendations."

  • "We were able to secure a table about 20 min prior to our reservations. We immediately ordered drinks and a canoe appetizer. After another 10-12 minutes the waiter returned to explain the menu and we placed our order. Upon finishing our order, the waiter asked if we wanted to try an appetizer. This was a hint that they forgot to put in our initial appetizer order. After about 25 minutes upon our initial order for drinks and apps, the canoe arrived. The only problem was the canoe had items that weren't listed on the menu. I'm not sure exactly what they substituted, but it wasn't something we expected or liked. So our $28 app wasn't as good as we hoped. My potatoes on the Mahi Mahi weren't cooked and the filet had silver skin on it."

  • "Where to begin, first of all, our waiter was Michael, might be the best service I've ever received at a restaurant, in the world. Guy was, polite, helpful, clear and fast, but, we felt bad, my GF paid the check behind my back and ended up giving him a pretty lousy tip by mistake. Later this week we are gonna eat nearby and go ask for him to say thanks and tip what he deserves, so he does continue to provide the same quality of service to future patrons. Oh, and order the butterfish."

  • "Roy's never disappoints with the quality of their food. Hands down, the Misoyaki Butterfish is the best! I have to admit though, I was a bit disappointed that our waitress did not acknowledge that we are true and devoted Roy's patrons. We have visited every Roy's in Florida and every Roy's on Oahu, with many visits to this one and the one in Tampa. Usually, we have been given a complimentary dessert as regulars and for being part of the Roy's Ohana. We also ordered the Poke appetizer - excellent, but it does seem that the amount of ahi is decreasing as time goes by. The chocolate soufflé was delightful as always. We had brought a new guest with us, who is now also a devoted Roy's fan!"

  • "Last night of a week at Disney, we wanted to get off the Disney property and have a nice dinner. Roy's was the perfect place! Gorgeous decor, it took me right back to Roy's in Honolulu 15 years ago. The service was impeccable and every bit of food was delicious!! Unique combinations of sushi rolls started the meal. Spicy fried rice was great and the Ono was incredible. Chocolate soufflé and lemon box cake finished the meal perfectly."

  • "Two appetizers, three entrees, and two desserts took approximately two hours... unacceptable. The samosa appetizer was very oily/greasy, the "butterfish" did not taste fresh, and the good was generally forgettable. I would look elsewhere considering this place is quite expensive for Orlando."

  • "Had passed Roys many times on Sand Lake Rd. Finally went in. Great ambiance but the real highlight was the menu. So many things I could have ordered. I had the seafood hot pot. The seafood was delicious. There was a large piece of boc-choy which was good but hard to eat. Service was very attentive. We had several managers come over ensure everything was going well."

  • "I had been to Roy's on Maui and LOVED it. My husband and I decided to go to Roy's Orlando for our 31st anniversary. Whereas my husband thought his ahi was ok, the trio I ordered was not so great. The trio included butterfish, mahi and salmon. First, the pieces were ridiculously small. The butterfish had so much teriyaki you could not taste the fish. I had asked for all the fish to be cooked through, and the mahi came very raw, they took that back on a separate plate to cook it more. The salmon I got was disappointing. Right now is prime salmon time. Copper River King and Coho are in season, and they served farmed Atlantic salmon...REALLY?? Expected more"

  • "This was our first visit to Roy's Orlando and we will definitely return. Can't wait to return! Our server Mark was exceptional. Beginning with the complementary edamame and cheese quesadillas for the kids, our entire experience was a pleasant one. Standout dishes included Misoyake Butterfish, Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp with Cheddar Grits, and Andouille Crusted Mahi, and the Bacon Truffle Mac and Cheese could be habit forming. They seem to understand that the service is a critical component to the whole restaurant experience."

  • "We celebrated our mom's 75th Birthday here and it was the perfect choice. They had a bouquet of flowers for the birthday girl and gave her a lava cake for dessert. Our server was perfect, who quickly resolved a small mishap from the kitchen. Everyone loved their entrees...and there was enough variety so that all 9 of us got what we wanted. We ordered a variety of appetizers, cocktails and entrees. I had the chef's prix fixe meal and for $35 it was a good deal... app was short ribs dim sum, entree salmon (perfectly poached) on a bed of asian greens, and carrot cake for dessert. My nephew had the sampler with fish and beef, my niece the bone-in rib eye. My brother had two sushi rolls, and mom enjoyed her scallops."

  • "We've dined at various Roy's locations on the mainland and in Hawaii. They have a "new" menu or at least new for us. Hurray - not so much seafood (we're both allergic). Lots of chicken, pork, beef. All of the flavors were inventive and delicious. Service from our server, Brandon, was top-notch. One of the managers, Al, made a point to stop by and check on us as well. Try the Short Rib & Mushroom appetizer, just wonderful. They also have a great-tasting side dish of Mac N Cheese which goes with anything on the menu. Our cocktails were never empty before Brandon was checking on us and even the hostess staff were friendly and efficient. We were thrilled AND will be back SOON!! "

We enjoyed our seafood dishes and ended with the delicious chocolate lava dessert. My only one comment for improvement is the ambience. The place needs more natural lighting. "

I remembered being surprised with little bonuses of culinary delight being delivered between courses with "compliments of the chef", even an extra dessert, just so that my party could sample both offerings. These extras made the premium prices feel like a better value. Unfortunately those days seem to have passed. What was ordered was exactly what we received, at the same premium price. Some items were excellent, others just ok. The service was solid, but bordered on over attentive. Call me old fashioned, but I normally like to pull in my chair and relax for 45 seconds before being presented with edamame, introduced to my three waiters and asked if I'd care to be walked through the menu."

  • "We move out of this area three years ago. Been a fan of Roy's for many years and visited Roy's at this location many times. So being in town for a short visit, we did not want to leave town without a stop at Roy's. What a disapointment. Asked the waiter if we could substitute the appetizer offer in the fix priced menue, his answer was a NO! The serivce was extremly slow. Waiter warned us that the plate is hot, but we found the food cold. This is not the Roy's I remenber from my years in Orlando. "

  • "The food at Roy's is always well prepared and well thought out, I wish we could say the same about the service. The wine came out after our food did which was not good as the food took 15-20 minutes to arrive. We asked why the wine was delayed and we were informed that they did not chill it and they were waiting to chill it prior to serving it. They mixed up the order of one of our party and it took 14 minutes to get coffee after dinner and they only brought 3 of the 4 that were ordered and we had to wait another 10 minutes to get the 4th. All in all not a good showing for the wait staff. "

  • "Every time we are in Orlando, we make Roy's a destination for a fantastic dinner and never have we been disappointed. My wife and I sat at bar and the bartenders exceeded our expectations! They took the time make some recommendations from the menu and even explained differences with some local Gins. We got picture taken and received a "Roy's" frame to remember the evening. Great Job all around and that is why we return each time in town!"
