Gave us enough time to review and decide but was constantly checking on us to see we had everything we needed, it was all about service.

In a city full of themed entertainment and a sea of chain restaurants, here you still feel the chef's magic touch. If you're not an adventurous eater, this is the place to get off menu-lock and ask what seafood dishes would be hard to find anywhere but here. They have them. Even the most hardcore stake-and-potatoes types will find their inner foodie. Can't decide? Be sure to tell your server. I've never been anywhere so quick to say, "why not have both?" and bring half servings of each. Trust me on this last point. Even if you never order dessert, or if you share, order one soufflé apiece. You'll thank me with every bite. Roy's, when are you coming to KC? Food choice, service, and preparation all very good. The salads were outstanding! I had the Trio; made up pacific salmon, Mahi Mahi, and their signature Butterfish--seared to prefection and simply outstanding and a great way to experience a variety of Roy's food. My wife had the Shellfish Sampler, all grilled; lobster tail, shrimp, crab cakes, and their U10 scallops; equally as impressive.
One thing we enjoy that Roy's doesn't provide--bread. To our surprise, no bread offered. Roasted, toasted, seasoned in the shell Japanese soybeans only. The noise was so loud we couldn't hear each other, and immediately asked for another table. The Manager moved us into a smaller room which was filled with adults having conversation, which we enjoyed very much. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the food, preparation, etc. as were other waiters addressing diner's questions. The Manager checked in with us to see that all was satisfactory. Our meal was excellent, high qualify, excellent preparation. I had the Ono and my husband had the salmon. Both were wonderful. This restaurant scored a hat-trick: The appetizer, entree, and dessert were all AMAZING and so delicious. The Kung Pao Calamari was the best we ever tried. Both the Mahi Mahi and the Shutome were delicious and perfectly prepared. The presentation was great. We finished off with the Strawberry Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Souffle. Our servers Dave and Russell were outstanding. The service provided was attentive, timely, and not rushed. We expressed our complements to the manager Sid who kindly greeted us and checked on our meal. It's an energetic atmosphere and found it great for a romantic dinner for two.
