  • Great Food But Not Relaxing

We are regulars at Roy's as the food is great. There are a couple of issues with the service and it's not that it's bad in the normal sense, it isn't. However it's almost too attentive, in that there is a constant procession of servers, water refillers, plate cleaners etc constantly interrupting you throughout the hour that it takes you to eat your meal! That is the other point, it's all too rushed, it's not the relaxing dining experience it should be for the price, the objective seems to be to get you in, served and out as quickly as possible to free the table. The appetiser comes immediately but the server is already asking if you want desert (ok prep time is a factor for some dishes), wine glasses are overfilled and topped up unnecessarily so a bottle disappears rapidly! Turn it down a few notches guys, it's not a fast food joint, quite the opposite interms of the quality of food available which is fantastic, but there is efficiency and being rushed and the service crosses the line into the latter.

We eat at Roys Here and Las Vegas, its always a treat to try the different items on the ever changing menu. We all had the hanger steak and we loved the taste, the same sauce as the beef ribs. meat was like butter. You have got to try the Apple desert, very different and a fun way to enjoy apples. Service as usual was above par. Be back next month.

Roy's has an excellent wait staff, which most diners know can make or break an experience at any restaurant even when the food is stellar as it is at Roy's. I've been there for special occasions, happy hour, and just dinner on a Friday night with friends and have always had the best experience. I definitely recommend you give it a try.

made the mistake of ordering the prix fixe menu. It was just OK. I had the very small portion of the"ahi tuna" Kinda looked old. Hence on the prix fixe menu? The best part of the dish was the veg, which was perfectly seasoned with spices. The filet appetizer, however, could have used more flavor. Just kinda plain. My wife's pork chop was good except for the half next to the bone which was very dry. Potatoes were fried in old oil and tasted as such. Next time i'll stick to my misoyaki butterfish.

We went for dinner and sat at the bar to have appetizers before dinner. Both of the sushi rolls we got were well above expectations. Our dinner was the red snapper and scallops and both dishes were hot and awesome. One of the partners came by and talked with us while eating our appetizers encouraged us to try the Wagyu beef appetizer. We are going back next week to try that.

The staff was amazing-very attentive to our every need and very helpful with recommendations. Loved the south pacific themed menu! The chef's special menu was perfect for my wife and son and is a great value! The food was out standing and perfectly cooked. I was worried about ordering the swordfish because most of the time I get it, it's overcooked and dried out. This was the best I ever had. The filet app for my wife and son was seasoned and cooked perfectly as were their entrees of pumpkin seed encrusted Tuna and the pork chop for my son. Not sure how you did those desserts but I'll be trying to replicate the apple tasting for a long time! Great wine list-Great food, great service, loved the theme!

We've eaten at Roy's Orlando before, and we were again impressed with their offerings and service. Our servers were knowledgable and attentive, the food was fantastic, and we were so glad we got dessert (try the lemon icebox pie!). My only small complaint is that it did seem very noisy; I'm not sure that I'd consider this a "romantic" spot on a normal crowded evening simply because it IS loud. Other than that, we had a fantastic experience, and I would absolutely dine here again.

Food was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again. 1000 dining points were nice. Black Cod, a very delicate fish, was over seasoned with teriyaki sauce. Fried calamari? I can get that at a neighborhood pub. Chocolate suffle was made with very sweet and cheap tasting chocolate sauce (Hershey's?), rather than real cacao molten chocolate. So, sums up to a below-average "upscale" chain restaurant experience

My husband and I dined here on Saturday night. We started at the bar for Aloha Hour and had a couple martinis and the ahi tuna roll. Both the drinks and the sushi roll were fantastic. Love the creamy butter sauce that accompanies the rolls. For dinner, he had the braised short ribs - melt in your mouth, and I had the scallops. For the price, I wanted to see one more scallop, three wasn't quite enough. The scallops, though small in portion, was big in flavor. We both took our time and savored our dinners. Our server, James, was enthusiastic and totally on the ball. Great experience!

I met a friend here for dinner and to catch up since we haven't seen each other for quite a while. We found that it was impossible to carry on a meaningful conversation. Both of us had sore throats from having to raise our voices to talk... and we were at a table in the very back, far away from the bar area. The food was good and the waiter seemed to be spread a little thin, possibly too many tables for him!

Honestly, it was one of the better meals we had in Orlando. Better than most of the Disney restaurants for about the same cost or less for an upscale meal. Certainly worth a visit if you enjoy seafood. The butter fish is amazing and I am told the salmon is some of the best. Service is attentive. The only negative about Roy's is that it is LOUD! It was hard to have a conversation due to the noise level. It won't stop us from going back, but if you are looking for a place to converse with others at your table, bring your megaphone. The butter fish alone is worth a visit. Just go.

Food and variety were very good Server, started off great, but by end of meal, he was not so good, at all! He didn't take care of us throughout the meal, until the check! The other staff worked well as a team, and were the ones checking on and filling our refills/boxes etc. We had to order dessert through another staff, we had to ask for foods to be boxed....and the server forgot to bring us the boxed foods, we had to ask for our check, and had noted 4 other couples seated after us, had already been able to finish and leave! Had to ask for our check, and our left-overs from our original server, who said "talk to me" when we asked for the check and left overs. Worst, were 2 erroneous charges, further delaying us leaving!!
