Roy's Las Vegas - Flamingoroy's has become our go to.We have a 6 year old and Roy's is the perfect mix of quality food and service and kid friendly. We 've done mothers day and now father day there and I'm sure we'll do some birthdays and other celebrations there in the future. Superb service, always some nice surprise like a free dessert for our daughter. super friendly and welcoming. Up market dining withut the snootiness. The filet was excellent and my wife had the Ahi Tuna and that was great as well. Our bill was a little under $100.00 for the two of us and was worth every penny. I had the calamari and pork belly yakitori. Delicious! The entree was the Shellfish Sampler and Roys Trio. The lobster melted in your mouth. The salmon, mahi mahi and butterfish were cooked to perfection. Do ask for the mashed potatoes (with or without the poblano pepper). The pineapple upside down cake and the melting hot souffle are not to be missed!

But unlike the slow deliberate pace at most fine dining restaurants (like Ritz-Carlton), the food at Roy's Las Vegas comes out very promptly. I ordered the salmon, and my wife ordered the 3 fish fusion (salmon, butterfish, mahi-mahi). The salmon and butterfish were great. The mahi-mahi was a little dry.
This isn't the place to go if you want to get stuffed. The portions at Roy's are relatively small but elegant. The emphasis is on quality rather than size. The food style is what I call "Hawaiian fusion", which means Hawaiian food items prepared with French-style sauces. The service was very good. No wait when we arrived and our waiter came promptly. The menu is weighted towards fish. My husband had the ahi and I had the Chet's trio. The fish was perfectly cooked and with tasty sauces. The ahi was served with a mustard sauce, nice and hot. The best by far is the chocolate soufflé which you must order when you get your entree to allow enough time. Got there about 6pm and were greeted very warmly, they got us to our table and all the service was top notch. The food was excellent, the ribs are superb as were everything else. The place handles kids well which I find rare with more upmarket restaurant. A free dessert with my daughters name piped in chocolate on the plate was brought at the ned of our meal and we were given a $25 gift voucher as well.
Will definitely return. The AC on the day we went was very cold so maybe bring an extra layer if you feel the cold. We started in the bar for Happy Hour and got specials on our drinks and first appetizers. They left us sit their to enjoy even after our reservation time came and went. We then transferred the tab to our table where we were greet by a very generous and courteous waiter. He quickly but thoroughly went over the menu - notable items and favorites. Food was brought out immediately, waters were always full, needs were met withough being attacked all of the time with questions. We had a great time, the food would delicious and the service was some of the best I have ever experienced.
