The service was a little slow and inattentive the first night due to being very busy but the second night was great. They took our picture and framed it for us. The food was delicious and the Chocolate Souffle was to die for. All four of us took advantage of the special. We each had a salad, entree and desert for 39.
The salads were fresh and each had its own balance. The Asian was light, the Maui shrimp salad had a kick and the wedge was loaded with all the blue cheese and bacon you could want. My entree of Tuna was perfectly done with just the right amout of sear and I love the wasabi say e. the short ribs were melt in your outh richness, the trout was moist and tasty and the macadamia crusted Mahi had just enough sweetness. The deserts were devoured especially the lava cake and the mango cobbler. Have been to this Roy's many times and am never disappointed.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMy group dined at Roy's onMy group dined at Roy's on Easter evening. I like Roy's restaurants in general, but usually the noise level is such that I can't hear the people that I am dining with. That was one reason I chose Easter night, and it was not quite as busy as usual. There were several families in the restaurant. My Asian Salad was fresh and well dressed. The grilled salmon was excellent - I asked for medium-rare. Others in the group had ahi tuna and filet mignon. They all enjoyed their entrees. Two people shared the molten chocolate cake and found it very good. Staff was very nice to my children and accommodating to their requests. I appreciate that the menu offers a variety of entrees for the children that prompts them to eat something other than chicken nuggets or hamburgers. We have gone to Roy's for several special occasions and my children now request to go there for their birthdays. We were seated in a booth, which feels much more private than a table. We had the tuna poke and calamari to start and both were delicious. The calamari has a very tasty thai style tomato puree for dipping. We had Ahi tuna and Braised Pork Shank for dinner; can't go wrong with either entree. For desert, we had the light and decadent chocolate souffle and the mango cobbler. Deserts at Roy's take a bit because they are made to order, so order with your meal. From the moment we arrived, the service was spectacular. Roy's obviously and purposefully made our evening special.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a very busy SaturdayIt was a very busy Saturday night and our waitress, while absolutely fantastic was just serving too many tables. We got drinks fairly quickly but ended up waiting about 30 mintues to order! We had 4 sushi rolls which was one too many for 2 gals and we had some great leftovers.
