Roy's Jacksonville Beach
Excellent, prompt, courteousExcellent, prompt, courteous service. Food very good, although both scallops and their side dish were cold.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winner!Roy's always is a winner with their top notch food quality, relaxed but professional service, and vibrant dining environment. Sitting by the open kitchen, you will have a unique experience of watching the chefs do their culinary magic. We sat in what is typically a side meeting/special occasion room. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, this was perfect with a more intimate environment and low noise level. Roy's is always the place to go for a wonderful selection of high quality seafood, unique preparations, and excellent drink selections (wine and cocktails). I highly recommend the shellfish trio or the snapper. Of course, your visit to Roy's is not complete without the chocolate lava cake!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh, creative, diverse seafoodFresh ingredients, skillful and creative Asian fusian preparations. Something for everyone from adventurous to familiar and accessible. Oustanding professional service and caring, involved management. Great meal - thanks Cat, Chip, and Gentry!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great time for usAlways a great time for us at Roys. We have had the last 2 family birthdays were spent there!! I now have a collection of dinner/celebration photos taken there. Also - there happy hour bar is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThank you!We were celebrating a friend's engagement....the chef was super generous and provided a complimentary appetizer and dessert. Our server was very friendly and patient with us as we were slow to decide!
Wonderful bottle of Pinot, great food (Mutton Snapper, Shrimp with Polenta, and great Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Chocolate Lava Cake.)
We'll definitely be back!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent night outCelebrating my son's birthday. Everything went well.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great serviceI get to Roy's about once a year. Consistently good food and good service. Nice atmosphere5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMUpdated menuWe enjoyed dining at this Roy's. they have recently updated their menu keeping the favorites and adding some minor changes but also adding some completely new items. I highly recommend the ahi tuna appetizer, the Mahi Mahi or butterfish for entree. Justin Cabernet (suggested by our server) also fantastic. I'll be back. Just wish there were more locations Nationwide. Come to Raleigh,nc please!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Dining for Special OccasionsFine dining when you're ready to spring for the five star cost of the meal and the bar tab. Only go once or twice a year as a result, but, the food is always stellar and you can try things you won't find anywhere else here in our area.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our AnnivaryIt was our Annivary and Roy's was everything you could hope, Romantic, excelent food and service. The portions on the Trio were very small but good.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo days two visitsI have dined at most of the Roy's locations and this is one of the best. The service was a little slow and inattentive the first night due to being very busy but the second night was great. The food was great both nights with entrees that included short ribs, Asian ribs, several fresh fish recipes, and chocolate soufflés and pineapple upside down cake.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA great restaurant. We wereA great restaurant. We were treated very well for our first wedding anniversary! A welcome card inside the menu was a lovely touch.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific as usual. AlwaysTerrific as usual. Always surprised that a chain like this could be so consistently good with an engaging menu.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMChic dining room, active bar,Chic dining room, active bar, very attentive service. Our lobster potstickers were great - succulent and flavorful. "Roy's Trio" of butterfish, mahimahi and salmon was good but it would have been nice to have veggie on the side other than the lonely, small piece of bokchoy. The white chocolate breadpudding with marinated strawberries and ice-cream was a disappointment as there were only a few strawberry slices which had no special flavor over a flat square of bread pudding.....the icecream was the best part. This is an upscale restaurant with interesting choices but it all depends on what you order.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious dinner.they honoredDelicious dinner.they honored our table request and reservation. A little pricey and wish the served bread instead of edamame on the table first.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI had an amazing birthdayI had an amazing birthday dinner at Roy's. The staff were all very professional and did an outstanding job of making my day special!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Great service!Great food. Great service! The only thing I dislike is the plate sharing charge!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual everything was outstandingAs usual everything was outstanding...never disappointed when dining here.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNice experience.Second time at Roy's. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. Only complaint is that happy hour is only available in the lounge.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNice findChose from the vegetarian menu and the food was excellent. Wine steward was knowledgable and our Pinot noir was great! We'll be back...4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for our AnniversaryWe went for our Anniversary and Roy's made it very special. They took our picture and framed it for us. The food was delicious and the Chocolate Souffle was to die for. The service was excellent.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe happened to go on a MondayWe happened to go on a Monday and they were offering a fix price menu.
All four of us took advantage of the special. We each had a salad, entree and desert for 39.
The salads were fresh and each had its own balance. The Asian was light, the Maui shrimp salad had a kick and the wedge was loaded with all the blue cheese and bacon you could want. My entree of Tuna was perfectly done with just the right amout of sear and I love the wasabi say e. the short ribs were melt in your outh richness, the trout was moist and tasty and the macadamia crusted Mahi had just enough sweetness. The deserts were devoured especially the lava cake and the mango cobbler. Have been to this Roy's many times and am never disappointed.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMy group dined at Roy's onMy group dined at Roy's on Easter evening. I like Roy's restaurants in general, but usually the noise level is such that I can't hear the people that I am dining with. That was one reason I chose Easter night, and it was not quite as busy as usual. There were several families in the restaurant. My Asian Salad was fresh and well dressed. The grilled salmon was excellent - I asked for medium-rare. Others in the group had ahi tuna and filet mignon. They all enjoyed their entrees. Two people shared the molten chocolate cake and found it very good. All in all, it was a very enjoyable dinner.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood timesOur family enjoyed everything particularly the service and food.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat 7th Birthday! We had a great time celebrating my daughter's 7th birthday with her grandparents. Staff was very nice to my children and accommodating to their requests. I appreciate that the menu offers a variety of entrees for the children that prompts them to eat something other than chicken nuggets or hamburgers. We have gone to Roy's for several special occasions and my children now request to go there for their birthdays. As for the three adults - we all loved our meals and completely devoured everything presented to us.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAs expected we had very goodAs expected we had very good food at a very good price on their Price Fix Mondays. We also had a fantatic waitress who really made our evening fantastic.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary Made SpecialWe dined with Roy's for our 5th anniversary and I included two notes in the reservation: "5th anniversary dinner" and "booth preferred". We were seated in a booth, which feels much more private than a table. We had the tuna poke and calamari to start and both were delicious. The calamari has a very tasty thai style tomato puree for dipping. We had Ahi tuna and Braised Pork Shank for dinner; can't go wrong with either entree. For desert, we had the light and decadent chocolate souffle and the mango cobbler. Deserts at Roy's take a bit because they are made to order, so order with your meal. From the moment we arrived, the service was spectacular. Roy's obviously and purposefully made our evening special.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a very busy SaturdayIt was a very busy Saturday night and our waitress, while absolutely fantastic was just serving too many tables. We got drinks fairly quickly but ended up waiting about 30 mintues to order! We had 4 sushi rolls which was one too many for 2 gals and we had some great leftovers. While the sushi menu is limited to only six rolls, they are superb. I already crave coming back again!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceNice cordial staff with good bar drinks. I had the ahi tuna which was excellent. My date enjoyed the parmesan mahi. Didn't care for the spice on the edamame which they offered as a snack. Would have been better plain3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome as alwaysWe went on a Monday because they were having the awesome deal and we still had a gift card from Christmas but the food is worth the price even without the deals. We took other guests with us that had never been and everyone loved their meals. The snapper, butter fish and filet are our go-to entrees and they did not disappoint.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
