This experience matched prior experiences. The greeters were friendly. They found our reservation and seated up quickly. The wait staff was excellent. They assisted patient assisted with a menus modification (level of spiciness of a selection). Food was prepared to order and presented elegantly. Water glasses were maintained and drinks were efficiently attended to.

The butterfish was soon tender and moist with outstanding seasonings. Every other bite I would taste some heat - not too spicy. It paired very well with the book chop. The other dish we had was the lobster pot pie. It was filled with incredible amounts of lobster and such large pieces. Very rich meal!

Our absolute, fav! Absolutely no one can beat their creative entrees. Take a risk with one of the chef's creations. You will not be disappointed. Last night, dynamite crab Barramundi, amazing complex, spicy combination! My husband had the Butterfish with Forbidden rice, Melts in your mouth. Start with roasted heirloom tomato salad. Fresh, savory, delightful. Accompanied all with Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect combination. Just wish we had left room for dessert! Thankyou for a great culinary experience!

We made a reservation and were placed at a table directly at the entrance to the dining room. At the time the dining room was empty. We were a little annoyed so I asked to be moved and they were more than accommodating, moving us to a quieter table away from the walkway.

Have heard of Roy's from my boyfriend who was born in Hawaii. When we had the opportunity to try it here on the mainland, we jumped at the chance. What an experience. The food was the best I've ever had. The lobster pot-stickers were amazing as well as the other items we ordered. Hands down from the overall service (waiter's name was Paul I think) to the food to the ambiance...all of it was simply stunning. Will visit this place again.

Took advantage of Arizona Restaurant Week for our first time at Roy's. Excellent food and great service provided by Christa. It was noticeably noisy so do suggest they add sound absorbing panels to the ceiling to improve the experience. Great ambiance and definitely will come back during a happy hour as the bar looks like fun. Excellent supporting service as well.

    Dined on 9/26/2014
Roys has great service and very good food. The noise level was that of a night club, with the group sitting next to us dropping the F bomb time and time again, not to mention trying out different ring-tones on their phone, time and time again. I'm not sure there was anything management could do, as I am sure with the level of noise, only those near their table, could hear what was being said. We went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and they did so much to make the evening nice for us, special menu, photo and special dessert. Hopefully they will remodel sometime in the future and add more booths and possibly a divider between the bar and restaurant.

We have been to Roy's before ,the food is very fresh and good. They are a little heavy handed on the salt but over all they are generous with there portions . The popular Mahimahi dish does't have too must nuts on it so don't be surprised when you get it , the best is the butterfish or the short ribs. The appetizers are usually tasty.

We took advantage of Arizona Restaurant Week to check out Roy's. Let me start by saying the food was amazing! Unfortunately, the service from the kitchen was extremely slow. An hour after we arrived, we still had not received our orders. Our waitress was apologetic, saying that the kitchen was overwhelmed due to the Restaurant Week crowd. We'll definitely go back again, but not during prime time.

While this was our first visit to Roy's and it was during Restaurant Week, it appears that yet again, I was next to a group of 6 and once that group arrived, we didn't see our server again. My Pelligrino was placed out of my reach and I had to rely on someone to serve me which was annoying and since my server didn't see fit to come to our table after the group was seated, it was doubly annoying. The food and the other people who waited on our table were supberb. Will definitely be back. But what is the deal with servers and abandoning the 2 person tables? I tip really well for great service, but I guess he won't find that out.

Roy's was an excellent dining experience. Service was top notch, felt like VIP's all evening. The food was a feast for the senses, the lobster potstickers, amazing, macadamia crusted mahi, perfect. Molten chocolate cake, absurdly good. Although it was a busy Friday night it was not noisy and the cozy booths were situated so you weren't distracted from your own conversations by the next table. Lovely evening at Roy's.

Love Roy's and have been at several in Hawaii, Philadelphia and this is our local favorite. Always enjoy the wonderfully prepared and delicious food and beautiful presentation. Tried Chef Red's menu, excellent! Service is great and ambience is nice, just usually busier now so not as quiet. They are great with making occasions such as birthdays and annniversaries special with special menus, picture and complimentary dessert with birthday or anniversary message. Remains one of our favorite restaurants.

We hadn't been to Roy's for probably a year. We had a sushi roll for an appetizer and it was very good. For dinner my wife had the Butterfish and I had the SeaBass. Both dishes were absolutely fabulous. For desert she had the chocolate brownie with ice cream and didn't really care for it. The waitress noticed and without asking us had the manager remove from the bill. On the way home and even yesterday we still discussing how good the food was on Friday night. So we had a great dinner and dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to more than 20 Roys in my lifetime and this place at least 2 dozen times. This location is starting to be disappointing. First of all, flecks of something in the water glass. Secondly her menu was dirty in the inside with crumbs on most pages and mine was old and had paper rubbed off in a spot. Our waiter had hands that appeared as if he was doing construction work before coming to work and kept touching us while talking to us. He didn't understand "gluten free" and told us that pasta was an "egg noodle" implying it would be OK for her to eat. The cappuccino came out after the desert had been finished, albeit ordered at the end of the entree. No one came over to check on us. All in all, not a normal Roy's experience.

Expected great flavors that is usually associated with the Pacific Rim food. What we found was run of the mill bland and over cooked! The service was slow, not due to the wait staff though as they were having to apologize for the delays. Took over 20 minutes to get two glasses of the house wine! For considerably less money, we could have gone to Long John Silvers and gotten better tasting food and better service! The overpriced wine list is disappointingly barren of good wines. The wines averaged 500% markup, where most high end restaurants only run them up 200% to 300% and have a good selection.
