Roy's is always a great place to dine -- and brings back great memories of dining at Roy's in Ko'Olina, Oahu. This week, headed there with friends for a pre-concert dinner...and trapped in traffic on the way. The hostess was gracious about holding our reservation for more than an hour as we called 3 times with traffic updates. It was a busy weeknight - but really appreciated their willingness to honor the reservation. Terrific meal to boot.

We usually do not go for the "chain" restaurants for special occasions, however, a trusted friend recommended we make an exception and we were glad we did. While not every dish was perfect they had great flavors. The Butter Fish dish was wonderful. Their staff was extremely attentive and offered great suggestion each step of our dinner. I would have liked to see a better selection on their wine list. Save room for desert!

We came to Roy's for an anniversary dinner and had a good time. Our anniversary weekend fell at the same time as the Star Spangled Banner celebration in Baltimore so everything was packed. That meant that it wasn't a very romantic ambience, but definitely a lot of fun. We each had a drink from the bar that was worth its price and then each had a salad and the Trio as our main course. The salads were delicious with lots of fun flavors and accents. The Maryland Peach salad was juicy and creamy with yummy chunks of chevre. The Trio was nice because we were able to sample a few different fish preparations. The Butterfish far and away was the best with its light texture and sweet soy glaze. I would go back for a nice dinner out with friends.

Some of the best service I have ever had when dining. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable, which led to a wonderful dining experience. I recommend trying the chef's selections over the other menu items. These specially prepared items were creative and flavorful, and were quite the surprise from this chain restaurant. Finally, the specially prepared desserts were also spectacular. Overall, just a great dinner. I will definitely be returning.

I've been to Roy's a couple of times and not been disappointed. Quality of food is very good overall, great quality fish cooked extremely well and presented very nicely. On this occasion it took a while until our table was ready. Also portion sizes can be a little mean, that meant we ended up eating 3 courses when normally i'd be happy with 2. Otherwise I'd recommend.

We went to Roy's to celebrate a birthday; it wasn't our first time there. We sat in a dining room off to the side of the kitchen; it was really noisy, the only negative point. I recommend trying the poke for appetizer; it is really delicious and always fresh. We had one of the chef's creation, parmesan-crusted hake accompanied with potato and lobster "risotto" (there is no rice, it is potato cubes, but it very tasty!). This was by far my favorite dish. We also had the trio (salmon, mahi-mahi, and butterfish) and the bacon mac&cheese. For dessert we ordered the blueberry, rasperry, strawberry cobbler & vanilla ice cream; it was good. They brought us also a small chocolate cake that was really rich. If you go to Roy's try their Aloha hour!!!

Have dined at Roy's many times. Food choices are extensive and the food is consistently prepared as expected and presented beautifully. It appears that Roy's has expanded its "non-fish" menu. Our group had the ribeye, pork osso bucco, mahi mahi, and butterfish. Everyone was completely satisfied, especially with the shared appetizers of tempura vegetables and bacon lobster mac and cheese. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Restaurant conveniently offers valet parking. Dining at Roy's is always a great experience.

A friend recommended that we try Roy's. It is a very energetic place. When we first walked in, it was noisy with conversations, but it was not difficult to carry on a conversation at your table. The restaurant was very crowded, but we were sitted within minutes after our arrival. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. We were not asked if we had ever been there before, but that would have been helpful since they left pea pods on the table, but we had no idea what to do with those. The meal was enjoyable and not rushed. Since we were out with another couple, it gave us time to converse and enjoy the evening. The meal was more expensive than expected at $125 per couple excluding tip.

My wife and I have been here numerous times and have always found the place lively with excellent seafood and a good matching wine list. The server was very pleasant and made us feel at home so we had no reason to complain. The place is a bit noisy with everyone talking louder than the table next to them but that does seem to be the style these days. We enjoy going here and will be back.

We ate at Roy's in Hawaii and liked it very much. I was a little disappointed at the menu in Baltimore. We both had a hard time ordering. I finally settled on the Sea Bass. It was very good. Not real crazy about the side dish of quinoa and black beans, but it was ok. The tables were a little close together, so we chatted with a couple of sister's next to us who were celebrating a December birthday in August! They got free desserts.

Roy's in Baltimore had a familiar feel to it as you enter the restaurant. The menu too has similar items with special entrees depending upon the chef. Once the food arrived it was as one has come to expect...terrific. However the server was inattentive which overshadowed the experience. There were times during the meal, 30 minutes, when the server was no where to be found. He never followed up and brought the check without asking if members of the party wanted coffee etc. we were happy to leave.

We have not been to a Roy's since the one in Philadelphia closed a couple years ago. We had always liked their food and were delighted to have an opportunity to dine at the one in Baltimore. If anything, the food was even better than we remembered. I ordered what for me was a new dish, the lobster pot pie. It was incredible. Flaky crust, a wonderfully tasty sauce, fresh potatoes, carrots and peas, and a very generous portion of lobster meat. The service was even better than the food. Our server, T.J., is a superstar - a pleasant, outgoing personality and very knowledgeable about the menu, he swung by our table several times to make sure we had everything we needed. All in all, a superb experience.
