  • "I arrived on time and was immediately seated. Saturday night at 7:00pm. Was given an order of Edamame at the upon arrival. Shared a california lobster roll as appetizer and was enough for two. Ordered surf and turf dinner and Grilled Salmon. Both orders came with a starch and vegetables. Both were prepared to perfection. I would return. A+"

  • "My girlfriend is has a capsasin allergy (ground based peppers). Included a plain English explanation in our Open Table Reservation. After being seated while I was at the bar, a (bus boy) brought a serving of edamame to our table -- never having seen edamame served with cayenne pepper before my girlfriend has a predictable allergic reaction. The manager made her comfortable and even brought an allergen from his safe. Having now been put on notice... We were very cautious in explaining to our waiter about her allergies. They brought us a menu the chef marked up as safe. However, it quickly became apparent our waiter was both nervous and rushed ... Which caused concern and anxiety. He needed to practice listening skills."

  • "Every time we have dined at Roy's in Baltimore, the appetizers were good, but the entrees were lacking. This time we tried a selection of appetizers. Unfortunately, they suffered form the same inconsistency. Shortrib Bi Bim Bap - Last time we got this, it was excellent. This time it was mediocre. The egg and meat were overcooked, and the rice was dry. Lobster Pot Stickers - These were very well cooked and flavorful Big Island Poke - This was also very good. Well seasoned and delicious Canoe Appetizer for Two - This dish was also inconsistent. The spring rolls were ok; the shrimp were bland, but the kimchi was good; the chicken satay was ok (the dipping sauce was not good); and the spare ribs were delicious."

Even though the portion sizes may be a little less than your average restaurant the quality of the food and the effort put into your entire meal sure makes up for it. Service was friendly. Restaurant itself is very nice. Was expecting people to be all dressed up but really anything goes at Roys. Probably thanks to the casual laid back Hawaiian roots."

The staff at Roy's were so attentive and I felt like we were the only ones there even though it was a busy Friday night. They did a wonderful job spacing out our meal and always made sure our drinks were full. What a wonderful experience! We will definitely be returning to Roy's again!"

The shrimp was overcooked and the noodles were flavorless. The tempura vegitables were good. I should have just ordered that."

  • "I find that 3 times a year they open early for a "brunch," so I was disappointed to discover that the full menu was not available then. I was very pleased with my appetizer and entrée, though my wife's entrée didn't excite her as much. Dessert was acceptable, but I wouldn't order it again. All in all seemed like quite a fine place, but you need to learn the menu according to your tastes, and don't expect bargain prices."

  • "I've been to Roy's a bunch of times. That night though, the hostess wasn't as nice and accommodating. We had an 8:15 reservation, took them until 8:35 to seat us. I requested for a booth, but the hostess said that was reserved for another party, only to notice that the booth remained empty all night. Was so annoyed and disappointed. Not at par with Roy's customer service."

  • "i went to Roy's during the winter Restaurant Week and fell in love with it's well crafted cocktails and delicious food. It was my mother's 70th birthday and she was treated special from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. I enjoy the young ladies who greet you at the entrance. They are very pleasant and accommodating. They ensured my mom had a view of the city during her dinner. Our waitress was a true gem. She and my mother bonded over both celebrating their birthdays. She was geniunely pleasant and caring. It was an awesome experience and one my mother will truly remember. i will always recommend Roy's for any occasion."

  • "Have been to Roy's in the past and was very excited to take some family on this occasion but we were very disappointed in our dining experience on Saturday night. The entrees were served cool and one of the 4 of us did not receive their dinner til after the rest of the party was almost done the wait or did not comment about this just served the late entree this is not acceptable in a restaurant like this he also continues to talk bout the sweet from the beginning of us being seated. Please let is dine and enjoy every course. More to say but basically our check for 4 was 300 and we walked away very disappointed "

The food was certainly up to the standards that I'm used to at other Roy's locations, but the service here was achingly slow. Not that we were expecting fast food, but we also weren't counting on waiting 30 minutes for our appetizers. Even worse than that, when we needed something, our server was nowhere to be found. No water refills. No drink reordering. No salt and pepper. But make no mistake, after I had finished paying the bill, she was very quick to pick it up and see what kind of tip she got. "

I asked for a quiet table and they did put us in the dining room away from the kitchen, but it was still way too loud. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding, but I would not go back again."
