Roy's AnaheimMother's Day BrunchMy mom chooses Roy's every year for her Mother's Day Brunch. It's her absolute favorite restaurant. This year I was a little disappointed that the brunch did not come with a dessert. Also, the restaurant was not ready to seat people when they opened so there were a bunch of people waiting around to get seated for their reservations. Other than that, the service was outstanding and very attentive. The taste of the white rice was not what I expected in traditional Japanese white rice. The restaurant in Philly closed several years ago.The preparation of the food is unique and was outstanding. From our appetizers to our dessert everything was wonderful. You must try Roy's Canoe Appetizer since it has a taste of almost everything. Start out with their Mai Tai. My boyfriend and 10 year old son had never been and they are pretty hard to please but they both loved it! Our server Tracy was excellent and the food was fantastic. One of the items on the appetizer menu was Lobster Bisque. I was hesitant to try it since just the night before at Mistral in San Diego. I had the displeasure of eating the worst bowl of lobster bisque I've ever experienced. The butter had a burnt after taste. To my surprise, Simone brought by a sample of the Lobster Bisque offered at Roy's which was simply delicious I ended up purchasing a bowl. The food was a bit older and not the usual high quality we receive at other Roy's, yet it was still eatable, we were hungry. Clinton never rushed us during any prat of our 4 corses. The table was always being cared for, yet he came an went allowing us to enjoy our selves without interruption. He picked up on out dinning preferences right away, that in itself was golden. Not everyone has this foresight. Also the two desserts, upside down pineapple cake with coconut ice cream and I'm not sure what this next one is called, but like a chocolate lava or soufflé both beyond delishious!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated our 42nd anniversaryCelebrated our 42nd anniversary here and were treated royally. Our server Julianne was excellent...engaging, attentive, and sincere. Roy's always has barramundi, our favorite fish, and the preparation was wonders. Corn and crab crust with anisette sauce, served over spinach with a spaghetti squash medallion.
