  • "Went here after work with my family who were visiting. Place was very busy but they sat us quickly. Service was fast and friendly and food was delish. Great drinks too."

  • "Royal Exchange is always tasty, consistent and a friendly staff. Their Miramonte salad is awesome!! The grilled shrimp on top.. YUMMY!!! Sometimes I have to get 2 skewers. And a very light lemon vinaigrette. Lots of other tasty options too."

  • "If you work downtown, this is the place for lunch and/or Happy Hour. The atmosphere is relax and the service is great. Try the Fish and Chips, really good or the Gorgonzola-Walnut Salad and add some grilled chicken, the best."

  • "Good choices for food, but at $48 for lunch including tip I thought it was a little pricey. I would still go back, but not if I wanted a cheaper lunch."

  • "An informal business lunch. Half of us had burger, and the other half pasta - which was the special dish of the day. I am pleased I chose the pasta. It was creamy, with plenty of bacon, shrimps and asparagus - an unusual but very nice combination. My colleagues who chose the burger were not as pleased with their dish, and I must admit I have seen burgers servede with nicer extras elsewhere. The meat looked good though. Service was great. The Royal Exchange is a really good option for lunch in the business district."

  • "Royal Exchange continues to provide quality lunches in fun pub setting. Service always excellent with friendly staff. I having been coming here for years since I worked downtown. I am retired now but continue to choose Royal whenever I am in the area."

  • "The salad was good except that my salmon was overcooked."
    Dined on 3/11/2013
  • "The waiter polietly(and without being asked) split an entree my friends were sharing, we were seated quickly and served immediatly. However, I disliked that we weren't allowed to make a reservation at noon (presumably because they're too busy to accept reservations at that time) And we were "repremanded" for trying to pay with any more than 3 credit cards (our table of 6 asked to split the bill evenly between all of us-we weren't even picky enough to ask the the salmon go on MY card and the salad on another). All in all, it was a 50/50 experience, most of the good was offset by most of the bad!"

  • "The only bad part was the hostess who was very rude to our party due to the fact that not all 12 of us showed up at the exact same time. The back room was perfect and our server was excellent. The bill was pretty outrageous, but as it was a successful game one of the world series we were all a little too intoxicated to know if it was incorrect."

  • "Pretty meh. Despite reservations and a not very busy dinning room we were kept waiting 10-15 minutes. Service OK, not bad but a bit rushed. Food was pretty disappointing. Nothing wrong, but nothing that good either."
    Dined on 9/28/2012
  • "Tables are a bit cramp but they made it comfortable and the service was great. They were friendly and efficient. The Food was great, love their Fish and Chips."

  • "Love that reservations are now available. LOVE the grilled salmon salad!"

  • "I love Royal Exchange. I love it so much that I go, sometimes, twice a week. The food is deelish. They have a great happy hour menu and service is great. Staff is fun and very tentative. Awesome spot to watch sports as well. My friends and I enjoy meeting at Royal Exchange. It is our favorite stomping ground."

  • "Love it that reservations are now available on Open Table. The food was great! Just a little too loud but love the private booth!"
    Dined on 5/18/2012
  • "Royal Exchange is a great place to go for lunch in the financial district when you want to do something special with your friends. If you make a reservation on Open Table you will have one of their back booths waiting when you get there. Their menu has a wide selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees. My favorites are their black & blue salad with steak and blue cheese and their hamburger."
    Dined on 5/10/2012
  • "The food is always good. They always have TVs on with various sporting events so it can get very lively in the bar area, but they also have a lot of booths along the back wall that provide plenty of privacy."
    Dined on 4/17/2012
  • "Great lunch spot for a casual meal with friends or business colleagues. Loved the caesar and Goose Island brew on tap."

  • "I'm a burger lover and have always enjoyed burgers at this restaurant that's so convenient to my work place."
    Dined on 2/14/2012
  • "Strictly a happy hour joint, but probably the best for the financial district. Drinks are served in decent portions but food, although edible and better than its neighbors' food, and service are mediocre at best."
    Dined on 12/21/2011
  • "I really enjoy this old San Franciso bar and grill. I love the ambiance and enjoy taking my out of town family to this restaurant."
    Dined on 12/21/2011

    Dined on 12/9/2011
  • "Nice bar scene, very good selection of sandwiches, and a server who had opinions (which I love). Staff is friendly and service as well as food was excellent w/o being rushed."
    Dined on 12/6/2011
  • "This is a great spot for happy hour, or a burger after work."
    Dined on 8/23/2011
  • "If you want to enjoy bar food and still feel good about yourself after your visit..... this is the place to go! Nothing is overly oily greay or otherwise artery clogging and yet the taste is there."
    Dined on 8/23/2011
  • "Service and food are both equally poor. But there aren't that many pubs in the financial district."
    Dined on 8/12/2011
  • "Good food although nothing on the menu for a vegan diet. The booths are perfect for business conversation."
    Dined on 6/8/2011
  • "Typical bar setting and bar food. Service was fine, but nothing spectacular. Food was as expected, again, good, but nothing amazing. Fun vibe, though, unless you hate crowds, but good for a drink with lunch and watching sports."
    Dined on 5/27/2011
  • "I love the relaxed feel of this place - small and cozy. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Fish and Chips was delicious. Service was well-timed and friendly."
    Dined on 5/25/2011
  • "fast service, food was good except my ceaser salad was way over dressed. 1/2 the dressing and it would have been perfect. My friend had the chicked pita and she was pleased with it. Next time I will ask for dressing on the side, or choose a sandwich."
    Dined on 4/28/2011
  • "If you are in the mood for pub food, this is a great place downtown. I always get the club sandwich with fries. Their fries are delicious! Get there early or late for a comfy booth and enjoy being tucked away from work for a little while."
    Dined on 1/31/2011
  • "Went for lunch. Had a menu that contained items that were NOT available for lunch. WTF?? Waitress has a chip on her shoulder and wasn't too friendly. Cold but efficient comes to mind. However, the food was ok but leaned toward the typical bar food of defrost and reheat and/or fried items. Go here for the drinks (it's usually packed weeknights) but I'd go elsewhere for the food."
    Dined on 1/20/2011
  • "I think this place could have been better. The food was decent pub food, but the kitchen messed up the order the first time sending the wrong thing, then the second time they tried to rush the order and forgot a few ingredients. I'll try it again, but not a good first impression."
