. Not generally fond of brunches/smorgs, but delightfully surprised by everything at the Sunday Brunch from warm greeting and attentive waitress to tasty food that was fresh with good variety and didn't all taste the same. Size of room nice too

Sorry to say the quality of the food served has drastically gone down. We have been there before as a group and were quite happy with the food and the service. Where as the service this time was great, the food was so poor that as a group of 10, we will never go back.

We have eaten here for brunch on many occasions and find the food to be freshly prepared, plentiful and very tasty. This occasion we tried it out for dinner and found the same quality. They have a smallish menu which features wild sockeye salmon on a bed of Urban Farmed greens with a very light strawberry dressing. The Chef also features a weekly menu which is sourced locally and is highlighted with fresh Tofield Alberta lamb. If you can believe it, the hotel has it's own garden! The Chef's pick the vegetables daily for that evenings dinner. Overall this is one of those unexpected finds, which we would heartily recommend.

  • Father's Day Brunch disappointing.

Reserved brunch for a party of six. Despite having reservations were seated in the lounge area at a huge round table surrounded by six extremely low seated leather chairs - appropriate for settling into and having a drink perhaps but certainly not comfortable for eating a meal. The food was more than disappointing - it was tasteless. Most of the dishes were cold even though fresh replacements had just come out of the kitchen. The English muffins in the Eggs Benedict were still cold despite being burnt around the edges! The coconut chicken strips were also burnt. The pasta was tasteless and cold. None of the dishes appeared to compliment each other - in fact quite the opposite. Dessert? 3 different flavors of mousse - seriously?

The service was very good. The dessert was good. Other than that the food was not worth the value we paid. Salad was dried out and sitting out way too long. Cheese plate although sufficient was dried out. The hot food was also dried out and was not hot. The flavour could have been better. Walking into the place we noticed 2 other diners in the whole place, right away you think what is wrong with this place. We had to wait a bit to be seated and could not help but notice a huge amount of dust bunnies on the arch above the food. This is not appetizing at all.

We had a largish group who wanted brunch early in the morning before other places were open. Not a huge variety at the buffet but the food was good and and the prices were very reasonable. Don't expect a huge buffet with everything under the sun, but good french toast, fruit, bacon, eggs, waffles & toast. There was cereal as well + Juice and coffee. Nothing earth-shattering but everything one really needs.

The prime rib buffet on Saturday night is fabulous!! A wonderful selection of wines, salads, sides, meats and decadent desserts. Lots of room for diners. What makes it even more appealing is the price for what is offered at the buffet table. Each item has it's own unique taste. Compliments to the chef!!

THe dining room is somewhat dated and the ambiance was a bit old, sort of thing you would expect from old world steak house. THe evening we arrived they had a fixed menu or the buffet. We decided for the buffet and a couple glasses of wine. THe selection of wine was good, probably above other restarant's in this calibre. Initial service was slow, probably a lack of staff for the evening, but was friendly when they finally arrived. Selection in the buffet was good, but the pasta bar was very slow. I would go again as the value was quite good.

This was a Valentines Day surprise for my wife. I had printed off the menu so she could choose her meal as we drove over. She pick her meal. When we got there we were seated and told there was a special menu. Unfortunately the main course was something she cannot eat. I thought we were going to have to leave, but our waitress, Judith, (#29) checked with the cook and we were allowed to use the regular menu. A bottle of Wine and excellent meal! My wife got what she wanted for Valentine Day. She was happy and I was happy!

Dining out is usually rare for us due to disappointing experiences but Royal Coach impressed us with its warm atmosphere ,friendly and personalized service and delicious food created by a talented chef who displayed passion in his art. On the whole we were pleasantly satisfied and want to acknowledge them for their strong efforts and thank them for a very pleasant evening, we will make this one of our first choices when dining out.

  • Very nice New Years Dinner
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 1/1/2014
Our family of 7 enjoyed a lovely dinner on Jan. 1st, 2014 at the Chateau Louis. The menu was interesting and we ordered from both the main menu and the special New Years' menu. The service was excellent -- friendly, helpful, and prompt. The children had an interesting menu with several choices. I had a beautiful rack of lamb with a tasty sauce. The steak and prawn was also very tasty. Our only disappointment was the dessert included in the special New Years dinner. It was a very dry cake with chocolate sauce on top -- not tasty and surprising after such a pleasant dinner. We have attended many banquets and buffets at the Chateau Louis conference center and have always enjoyed the variety and quality of food.

The staff was nice enough to extend the breakfast buffet for us as we came in at the end. I'd called ahead to ask about gluten-free options as they have separate menus forumch & dinner but nothing listed for breakfast. The lady I'd spoken to said they were very flexible & could work with anything, anytime, as long as we let the staff know. The food was average but the service was good.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and enjoy their Saturday night prime rib buffet. The salad selection was varied and tasty. The prime rib was excellent as was the turkey ragout. Deserts were bountiful and all had their own unique taste. Service was 'old school' attentive, pleasant, accurate and polite. Tracey you did good! They have a great Ukrainian buffet Sunday evenings.

Appetizers were great, entrees were good, veggies were super salty, dessert was good, service was good, wine list is limited and over priced. Only 3 tables of people in the whole dining room and we were all close together in the front of the restaurant, too close for a great dining experience.

Who are we kidding, this is one of the best buffets in town! Food is well prepared, fresh and plentiful. Service could be more attentive but was friendly. They also have a very good a la carte French menu during the week. A couple of favourites are the Steak Bourguignonne and the fresh Atlantic scallops in coconut cream. Menu is not over priced for the quality presented.

I am sorry to say we did not enjoy this restaurant at all. They brought one of us a whiskey when gin was ordered and we were still charged for it. The rice was either under cooked or very well done. It was crunchy. My fish was extremely dry and over cooked. Service was slow. It was just over all a bad experience .
