  • "My wife and I have probably eaten at Paul Martin's 20 times or more. It has always been around a 6.5 to 7 on a 10 scale. Just a few service and chef touches to become an 8 that you'd be happy spending your money in. Last night was the best meal we've had there not just because it was the most reasonable. I had the plank salmon and the new preparation makes it the best on the menu in my mind. My wife had the good old short ribs and mashed potatoes, favorites for us both but she agreed the salmon even blew that away. We're anxious to return and confirm that this time wasn't a fluke and we now have a good restaurant without driving all the way downtown."

  • "Had drinks at the bar before dinner. There were only 4 people at the bar but we had to wait for any type of service while the bartender and a waiter talked about the basketball game on the TV and other trivial subjects. The bartender only smiled and was attentive when she handed us our bill. Waiter in restaurant was knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the house specialty short ribs and received a plate full of fat surrounded by some meat. My wife had a steak and thought it was OK but not great. In the past we had always enjoyed eating at the restaurant 2 or 3 times a year. The spicy caesar salad was very good. It will be a long time before we go back to this restaurant."

  • "I haven't been to Roxy in a while and took a friend there for her birthday. Service was mediocre/slow though friendly. Unfortunately the asparagus risotto I ordered was so bland that I asked for some lemon to brighten it up and make it edible. My friend enjoyed her turkey burger, but felt it was too mushy/full of sauce. I like the atmosphere and location of Roxy, but it seems to have gone down in quality since I was last there."

  • "This was our first visit to Roxy and it won't be our last. While the restaurant is a bit noisy, the food is delicious. There are so many delicious selections. There were 6 of us dining and we each ordered something different. Everyone was pleased with their selections and ravedbabout how it tasted. Our server Buck was exceptional. He was friendly, efficient and made sure several times while we were dining that all was well. We will definitely add Roxy to our restaurant favorites list."

  • "The food was good. I added shrimp to my kale and quinoa salad and everyone else had salmon and said it was delicious. However, we won't return until summer when we can dine on the patio rather than inside. The decibels were so high, my ears were ringing and I found myself unable to otherwise enjoy my food, the wait staff was efficient and friendly."

  • "This was a great choice for our Valentine's Day dinner. Although the restaurant was crowded, our server was very attentive, the food was tasty and well timed - overall a good experience. The corkage for the bottle of champagne we brought along was well below what other restaurants charge. Definitely have the zucchini chips - they are addictive!!"

  • "The restaurant had a condensed menu for the night because of Valentine’s day. So our party of four decided to go with their braised short ribs and grilled pork chops. Just as we were about to order our waiter advised us that the kitchen had ran out of pork chops. So the ladies decided to go with their flat iron steak instead. I enjoyed the short ribs even though the potatoes were watery and the seasonal vegetables were under cooked. The steak on the other hand was just terrible. The ladies were upset that their steak knives were dull coupled with the fact that the meat was tough. The only bright spot of the night was our waiter. He was great! Would I go back….probably not. But if I did I would make sure it was not on a holiday."

  • "It was very kind of them to hold my reservation even though we were 20 minutes late. Our server was good. I was disappointed with some of their food entree. They have only selected valentine menu. The stake was horrible and poor quality. They had a steak medallion menu meant for two people serving and it looked like it was meant for one person. The salmon was delicious. I disliked the dessert I had ( lava chocolate ) ,poor presentation and the taste was just a simple vanilla ice cream with fudge. There was really nothing extra ordinary that I liked about the place Sorry, but will not go back to this place."

  • "I'll start off by saying that I did NOT have a terrible experience at Roxy... however I had heard good things about the restaurant prior to eating there, and I don't think my expectations were quite met. We had reservations for their Valentines dinner at 9pm and arrived at 8:35. A table was ready by about 9:45. The restaurant in general was quite overcrowded, and they had run out of a couple of menu items by the time we ordered. We chose the filet medallions for two meal, and I was very underwhelmed by the tiny portions. I expect medallions to be small, but accompanied by 5 asparagus and a few ounces of pasta doesn't seem to be dinner for two to me. I was a little disappointed. On the plus side, their zucchini chips appetizer was fantastic."

  • "I didn't know what to expect when choosing this restaurant. I only saw the good reviews about it online and a coworker said he had heard good things about it. When my date and I got there for Valentines day dinner I was stunned! The place was huge for what it looked like outside and the seating was good. Though this was only Valentines day, their menu was small and the prices a bit ridiculous. We had ordered the Love Duo (thinking it was a good dish for 2 at $42 a plate) and got about one serving. Though it may seem like a bad deal, it was the perfect amount for this occasion! I will definitely be back here for another special day!"

  • "After seeing our entree, my husband proclaimed that we are NEVER going out to eat on a Valentine's Day again! We ordered the "Love Duo" for $42, which turned out to be a single-serving filet mignon cut in half with 5 skinny asparagus spears and about 2 oz of pasta with barely discernible bits of lobster (supposedly the "lobster mac and cheese"). It came out on one plate and we were to share it. Considering that the same size filet on the regular menu (unavailable on V-Day) is $28, we definitely felt ripped off. The food was tasty, but the holiday pricing left a bad taste. Also, people were just crammed into the space--one couple was seated by the entry on folding chairs! We'd still go to Roxy but not on a holiday."

  • "Ordered the Guacamole appetizer. It was good, but a little light on the guacamole. I ordered the roasted chicken and my husband had the New York steak. He ordered medium and it was well done, but he liked it overall. The chicken had no flavor and was very plain. It was a nice night out of us, but a little over priced. We will likely not return."

  • "A wedge salad, or any dinner side size salad for 10.95. Okay fine little pricy but forget that. The Farrow salad had an entire can of nuts in it and was under dressed. The calamari appetizer had more onion and peppers than meat. Although I'm not a fan of the Chile sauce under it all others may like it. The meat is all from a local Dixon grower, but that didn't help the chef cook it to have any flavor. My New York strip was dry and flavorless. If not for the chapoltle dipping sauce, which I happen not to care for, there would have been no way to down this meat. Perhaps the cut was too lean for me, but cooked med rare it should have been more pleasant."

  • "I had the Roasted Chicken. Very Good! My husband always gets the burger. Roxy's is noted for having an delicious burger and I agree. We are regulars there and it is always an enjoyable experience. I would recommend everyone to stop and enjoy lunch, dinner or their brunch is delicious. Normally we have excellent service but this night our service was a little off…..but then we all have off days, don't we!!!!! So normally….we would give it an Excellent overall."

  • "The food is consistently excellent. Service is exquisite - super professionals, never rushed. I love the daily special salad, usually with grilled chicken and always with seasonal produce. Zucchini chips are a great starter. The chopped salads are superb as well."
