Rowes Wharf Sea GrilleGood first experienceI met an old friend for dinner and gave her the view of the room, so I really can't comment on that. The point was to be near my friend's ferry home after dinner. We had hoped to dine al fresco, but the weather did not permit. The service was attentive, not overbearing (just what you want), and the food was really good. The appetizers are expensive, but the generously sized entrees are quite reasonable (under $30). The combination of a shared plate of oysters on the half shell, individual entrees, and a bottle of wine suited us well. We will return to enjoy the terrace later in the summer. I chose "moderate" for the noise level. I don't recall that aspect specifically, but we had a lot of catching up to do and could hear each other fine.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA few bumps saved by employees..I had come to the restaurant as a birthday gift to my best friend. Although I initially called to confirm my Afternoon Tea reservation for 12:00, when we arrived we were told that Afternoon Tea does not start until 3 pm! However, Mr. Tummings, Director of Banquets, saved the day by having the kitchen accommodate us for Afternoon Tea and we had a marvelous experience. I cannot express how important this birthday lunch was for my friend, and I was amazed at the professionalism, kindness, and beauty of Rowe's Wharf Sea Grille. The dining experience was quiet and personal. The view was gorgeous, and the food was delicious. This birthday lunch was years in the making, and thanks to Rowe's, my friend had an experience to remember. Thank you!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall RecommendationMy daughter graduated from Suffolk University on Sunday and her choice was for dinner at the Sea Grille. We had a reservation for 7pm. We underestimated our reservation by about 1-1/2 hours. We decided to walk to Rowes Wharf and see if we could be accommodated earlier. We were prepared to have a drink or appetizers to wait the 1-1/2 hours. However when we arrived the two hostesses worked feverishly to rearrange tables, etc. in order to accommodate our request.
We are so very grateful that this could be done. It really made our day so enjoyable and we can't thank you enough. Of course, the meal was amazing as well!

The tuna tartar appetizer was perfection -- avocado puree atop the tuna in white soy sauce, not too much, not too little. The grilled halibut with risotto and zucchi8ni slices was simple and delicious. Rowes Whart Sea Grille is just amazing - we enjoyed dinner here while staying at the hotel. The view from the dining room is a gorgeous view of the Boston Harbor - overlooking boating traffic and Logan Airport. The service is fantastic and is fully matched by the outstanding food! They try to please you in any way they can and we loved having high tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. Even if you are not staying in this hotel be sure and come here and dine!!!! You will love it!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI was stunned by how emptyI was stunned by how empty the dining room actually was, at 12:30 in a business week, there were only 3 occupied tables. I know during the summer season the patio is always busy with a wait to be seated. The food was well prepared however presentation was only fair. I was also a little taken aback at the very small portions of the main item on the entree.
This restaurant is a favorite of my boss for business meetings so I was anticipating something a little more. First course was a delicious thick New England clam chowder. Second course was a perfectly cooked medium rare Grilled Prime Filet Mignon with Honey Mushrooms and Roasted Vegetables. Great wine selection as well.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food!My friends and I went here for Boston restaurant week this week, and the clam chowder, filet, and blueberry cobbler were absolutely amazing! The only thing I would have to complain about would be when splitting the check, the waitress overcharged one of us by $10, (this would have givin her a larger tip in the end the way we figured it out) and when asked to correct the bill she was clearly annoyed. I guess a 20% tip wasn't enough for this particular person. That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. We went for Sunday brunch.....it is the best brunch I have ever been to, and it is a great value.
