Diner Reviews
  • "The food was very good and reasonably priced. It was a nice quiet resturant with decent service and wine list."

  • "Dec. 2013, dinner at Roux was a disappointment. First, poor timing: Shortly after the delivery of our cheese board and wine, the soup was delivered, abruptly ending what we intended to be the leisurely enjoyment of our appetizer and wine. Then came the entrees soon after the finish of our soups, with the half-full cheese board still sitting there, taking up space on the table and waiting for us to finish it, which we never did. Second, entree quality/presentation: The filet ordered medium was tender, but was medium-well and was placed on not-firm mashed potatoes. so pressing on the steak to cut it oozed the potatoes out sideways and made the steak slide. Not pretty. Grilled asparagus stalks were too thick. Salmon was cooked as requested.."

  • "We had Christmas dinner here because of a problem with our prior reservation. There were 4 options available in Open Table. We have dined in Hilton restaurants before and were always pleased. This looked like a Morrisons Cafeteria. No ambience at all. A lot of people were in sweatshirts and jeans which was mood altering for us. They only had a buffet which we generally do not do, but had little control. The list of food was nice so we dug in. The chicken Marsala was dry and had little to no sauce. The green (spinach??) fettucini was tasteless. The mixed veggies were cold. The bread was hard. The chocolate peanut butter dessert was awful. The only thing good was the Cesar salad. This was a total disappointment for Christmas dinner."

  • "Nice find. Ginger our server was terrific, friendly and helpful. My husband had the ahi tuna burger, cooked perfectly and delicious. I had the crab cakes. Crab cakes are always a risk when not near the coast but these were great. Very little breading and served over a corn and sweet potato mix."

  • "This is a hotel restaurant (in the Hilton at Biltmore Park), and for that reason I was skeptical. Was I ever surprised! The food was outstanding, and the service was great. I'll definitely go back."

  • "Visiting family in the area, we chose Roux for Thanksgiving dinner because of its buffet menu and reasonable fixed price. We were not disappointed. Staff were attentive, friendly, and responsive. The dining area is in the front lobby of the hotel and is not sectioned off to define it as a separate space, which seemed a bit odd at first. However, we soon adapted and felt ok in the space. The menu offered many choices, with local and regional touches, some unique. All dishes were very tasty, and several drew us back for seconds, though some in our party thought the food was overly salty. Desserts were a minor disappointment. However, the courses that preceded dessert far outshone the relative ordinariness of the finale. It was a good meal."

  • "Items we wanted we're not available - they "ran out last night" -we were advised of this only after ordering wine.We did not stay, went across the street to another restaurant."

  • "I was a bit mislead by a review in Blue Ridge magazine. Long drive from Asheville. Food was average, but restaurant was in an open lobby of the Hotel. There were only two other people dining ( Saturday night ). Had three different servers, because they kept leaving " to deliver Room Service ". Passed up several great Asheville restaurants to eat at a location that could have been in an airport. Probably my fault for not doing more research."
