The elegant Roundhouse Restaurant is located in the Black Hills-Fort Pierre Railroad Roundhouse, built by the Homestake Mining Company in 1901. The facility serviced and repaired engines for the Black Hills-Fort Pierre Railroad and Deadwood Central Railroad.
By the 1990s the building had
… fallen into disrepair and the City of Lead decided to have it torn down. A Rapid City businessman purchased the building to save the last railroad structure in town. In 2007 Duane and Phyllis Sander bought the historic building and had it totally renovated. Today it houses the Roundhouse Restaurant.
The pinnacle of the Roundhouse menu is the 5-Course dinner and wine pairing. The menu is changed quarterly to highlight seasonal items and wild game. The 5-Course and A la Carte menus work together to help provide something for everyone. Our Chefs work to make the wine pairing exceptional, with wine and food combining to make the total experience greater than the sum of its parts.Continued
