The baked brie and ahi tuna appetizers are outstanding and you get the idea that a couple could make a nice meal out of sticking with 3 or 4 of appetizers for their whole meal! But the lobster pot pie must be tried -- fantastic! The only so-so dish was the very dry red velvet cake. Will need to try a different dessert next time. We had a great waittress and enjoyed a wonderful night out.

The food was excellent and menu choices great. This place has all the components to make it very successful. The front of the house needs major attention! Wait staff was innatentive and very slow. Food was coming out cold, we could overhear quite a few of these complaints. The food itself was delightful and cooked perfectly but when the staff neglects to get it to you in a timely manner this is a problem. Work on your staff and emphasize attention to detail.

I have been a sincere proponent of RLMB, however, this last visit left a nasty taste in my mouth. I took one of my best clients for a thank you dinner and all was grand until I paid my $400 tab. The waiter was no longer engaged and repeatedly glanced at his watch in my line of sight, as to recommend that we get moving. Not pleased at all and profoundly disappointed in what was mostly a great night.

We were somewhat disappointed during our second visit to Rouge Moderne. The wait staff are extremely nice and competent, however, the food lacked. My husband had salmon which was overcooked and I had the duck, which was very fatty, not like the last time I was there and had the duck. We are going to have to decide if we will give them another chance.

I am a manager at an Italian restaurant and waiter and I'm not fancy or picky like most of the customers hereI had the tuna rouge, I asked for it to be served medium it came out extremely rare. I never send food back but I had to. At my restaurant we buy our calamaripre breaded and they were very comprable. I thought the host was a better server than the waitstaff I should have tipped her instead of the waitstaff. When paying the bill you pay the big bucks for the atmoshpere not the food quality or quantity. I will not be back.

We were very impressed with the food and service. Our waitperson was Chandler - he was also the bartender. He was knowledgeable and we really liked him. We both had the duck and it was prepared perfectly. We also had the opportunity to sit in the 'red room' which is a small nook - best seat in the house! We will definitely be back.

Service and Food were great. They must've have read the same reviews I did before visiting. Food was not salty, service was excellent. Truffle frites were to die for. The escargot under a flaky paistry shell incredible and the shared entre bone in 14 oz filet served as ordered. Definitely a neighborhood gem. But we drove over two hours to get there and were not disappointed.

We were having a tough time finding a place to eat during Restsurant Week that was available on a Friday night. Rouge had plenty of availability. The service was good, and so was the ambiance - we had a cute little table in a nook all by itself. The food was good, but the chef unfortunately had a heavy hand with the salt on all the dishes we ordered.

Flower Mound, TX, has a dearth of acceptable moderate/high-end restaurants, so the inclusion of Rouge Moderne in that category is not saying much. But the food was good, the owners very congenial, and the wait staff attentive. The decor is more adventurous than most places in the area, but again, the area is the desert of fine dining. All that said, I would definitely go there again, if I didn't want to travel to Dallas or Southlake or Fort Worth.

Overall the food was good, I had mahi mahi and it was fishy and real salty. My wife had the filet bearnaise and it was incredible and cooked perfectly medium just like it was ordered. We also had the risotto and it was awesome too. The creme brulee at the end was exceptional, top 10 all time. If you want the smore dessert order it at the beginning because it takes 25 mins. We would definetely return to Rouge to try other things on their menu.

We were pleasantly surprised with Rouge. I took my husband there for his birthday. When we drove up, it was next to a chain taco restaurant in a strip center. Once we got inside, the ambience was quite nice and much more upscale. The food was wonderful. The bone in filet and lobster mac and cheese were heavenly. Great cozy bar, too!! We will go back again and tell friends.

Rouge Modern is a great little french bistro type restaurant with good food. We asked to move to a different table because the first one we were at was too close to the next table. It was impossible to have a conversation, as all we could hear were the two people next to us. Food is great!

GREAT place! Two problems, the waitstaff is inexperienced at serving food of this level, and the owner is timid and afraid to engage the patrons. This COULD be a real hot spot for foodies, but it needs a personality that a warm and welcoming proprietor would give it. Most of the staff need some serious training in fine dining.

Wow! What a great dinner experience! We absolutely loved Rouge! It was so cozy and romantic! We started with the calamari, it was not only cooked to perfection, but it was so tender and the sauce was so yummy!I had the lobster pot pie for dinner. It was just amazing! Huge chunks of lobster set on top of mashed potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus and a yummy cream sauce. And a puff pastry on top of the whole thing! It melted in my mouth! Everyone else had the pepper crusted tenderloin which they said was perfection! For dessert, we all split the peanut butter/chocolate smores tort. One of the best desserts I have ever had!Our waitress was delightful and the chef even came out to say hello! We loved it and will definitely be back! Thank you so much
