Rouge et BlancLovely! This place is a gem! Friendly, cozy, and most important of all-food is exellent!
I will definitvely go back.
The idea is sharing dishes, me and my friend shared 2 appetizers, one main and one dessert and couldn't have been more pleased.
Crispy duck crepe, warm carrot salad, beef cheeks and noodles. The dessert, chocolate, marshmallows was heaven on earth!
I recommend trying a dessert wine, which I usually don't drink, but it was a perfect match and made our charming waiter so happy:)
Quiet and perfect to bring someone you love to talk to.
:-)5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting and excellentInteresting and excellent French-inflected Vietnamese food. A very enjoyable change from predictable ethnic restaurants. The staff is warm and friendly. There is a good selection of wines and beers. Highly recommended.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMexceptional food, lovely ambienceSecond special occasion meal here, both great successes. An exciting rage of unusual dishes, designed for sharing. Somehow the combination of portion size, number of ingredients and their combination works perfectly. Fine service. Highly recommend it, will be back.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMso nice to be able to hearso nice to be able to hear yourself and your companions, for a change, while dining out.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, excellent service,Great food, excellent service, and super cool ambience.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMbefore everyone else finds outabout it and you can't get a reservation, you should eat here! food & wine are delicious. vibe is relaxing & cool. do not think, just go.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting French-VietnameseInteresting French-Vietnamese food. I found it a little too lemony but pretty good. The best thing about the restaurant was how quiet it was, even when nearly full.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAll Around Excellence!Wine list isn't encyclopedic, but doesn't need to be, as it is well constructed--every important wine producing region of France is represented, with a full range of prices and some nice by-the-glass selections. Great place to share small plates of delectable food with friends or family. The service is superb and knowledgeable. Good food. Good wine. Comfortable atmosphere. What else matters?4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Lovely Meal at Rouge et BlancAlways welcoming, always delicious, this is a quiet restaurant in the upper reaches of Soho - West Village where the food is wonderful, the wine excellent, and where you can talk with your friends for hours if you choose.
Each dish was delicious and interesting, the combination of ingredients surprising and fresh.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in NYC for 3 daysWe were in NYC for 3 days and this was, by far, the best meal of our trip. The owner is attentive, passionate and extremely knowledgeable. The food was exquisite: duck heart salad, octopus, veal cheeks and pork belly. Wine was superb! If we lived in NYC, we'd eat here once a week.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food in a quiet settingTerrific food, intelligently served by a knowledgable staff.
Quiet, comfortable setting makes for a great experience.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden hideawaySuperb meal and better wine list. We've eaten there several times and t eh Vietnamese-flecked French food is special. Also, there are quite a few bargains on the wine list and Tom, the owner, is incredibly knowledgable about them.1/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the second time weThis was the second time we went and loved it again, wishing we came here more often! Everything was very flavorful - the Vietnamese sausage, brussel sprouts, lobster, claypot, and tuna special. Oh yes, and the bread plate is wonderful - toasty warm and buttery. The wine list is also amazing - great hard to find wines and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and look forward to it - this is a neighborhood gem!12/21/2012 12:00:00 AM
