Rossinis is something you don't find anymore - old school, New York, red sauce Italian done very well. And the service is excellent and the dining room spacious and quiet. The wine list is good and well-priced. A great neighborhood find.

As always my guests and I had a great time at Rossini's. I normally go with some out of town family when they come to town. We went on Friday this time so only had the piano player and not the duet with singer. Service was great and the entrees were wonderful. While the appetizers were good they were a little small. The stuffed mushrooms (one per for my uncle and I when splitting the app) tasted great with a flavorful red sauce to go I just wish I had 2-3 for each of us. Service was wonderful and attentive.

The ambiance, food, and service were spectacular. The piano was a bit too "forte" for me. It was a nice touch but could have been toned down a little bit as it made conversation very difficult. I was impressed with the attentiveness of the servers and the food presentation for all dining in my party was picture perfect. Another point in their favor was the lavatory. I can't speak for the Women's room, but the Gent's room was clean and without cloying odors, either natural or masking. The use of individual, heavy, disposable guest napkins helps present a clean and sanitary environment. Superb find. Thank you OpenTable.

I live in the area and have walked past this place so many times, and I could just kick myself for not stopping in before now. The food was amazing. I had dinner with two friends and we each shared our meals (chicken parmigiana, fettucine alfredo, manicotti). Everything was very well prepared and were nice proportions. We did not have dessert but the choice looked just as good. My only criticism is the pace of the service was slow and we had to ask to order and for the bill. But I can certainly appreciate lingering over a meal when you have the time, and will overlook this because the food was awesome. The service itself was exceptional and attentive. I will definitely return and love that restaurant is in my own neighborhood.

Birthday dinner for good friend Party of 5. Food service, treatment all very fine. Not first time there. All food tasty and well prepared. Had mixed seafood over linguine, wife had salmon, good choices. Only mild complaint would be charge of $5.50 for a can of diet Pepsi . Did not mind cost of any food item- all were well worth it and expected. Avg of $75 pp all fine. Had a very nice evening.

The ambiance is more upscale with décor, piano player, waiters in Tuxedos and the food is really good. I had the veal chop special which was incredible. The only disappointment was the bruschetta - great flavors but prepared too far in advance so bread was soggy. The service was very attentive yet not over stated. They do have a bar in the front of the restaurant that looked nice - might try that on another visit.

Many waiters were around, and each one was so pushy trying to get more orders. They were so hasty to clear the plates, sometimes without paying attention that food was still there. It was amazing that the tip amount was already fixed and written down on the cheque. But food was good.

I'd always wanted to try Rossini's for dinner and Restaurant Week was a motivating way to finally give it a try. As you walk in to the bar area you may think Rossini's is a small dark restaurant. As you are greeted by Ray and brought to the open, well lit back of the establishment. Plenty of room for big groups. The wait staff is as friendly and fun as the pasta dishes are fresh and delicious.

5 members of my office had a luncheon there on July 31st. It was restaurant week and most of us ordered from the special menu for that week. The service was wonderful and the food was its usual outstanding self. There was not a hint of us ordering from the restaurant week menu as being below their normal clientele and we were treated with the upmost respect and friendliness. The food arrived promptly and served perfectly. The appetizer specials, mussels in a seafood broth, fried clamari and eggplant with cheeses were very good. The veal, pasta, and salmon entrees were outstanding.

Rossini’s is a great “old school” Italian restaurant with wait staff in tuxes and plush décor and dim lighting. The wait staff is very attentive – I’ve never had my water glass filled so often. Everyone loved their entrees except one friend who got a chicken dish that looked like an anorexic quail. (One complaint out of five is still a great meal.) The calamari was done to perfection – tender, not greasy or over fried. The Vitello alla Rossini comes in a delicious mushroom sauce that is not too rich or thick. The rigatoni in pesto sauce was also excellent – a little heavy on the oil, but a very nice pesto. The mussels were also excellent - fresh and very plump. My only complaint is $14 for a house Merlot is a bit much.

I usually am not in the area of the restaurant so this was a new experience for me. From the maître d's warm welcome to the well-coordinated team of captains, waiters and staff, the service was superb, attentive without being intrusive. Excellent (if a little exclusively male). We had an equally superb dinner--vichyssoise soup, Blue Point oysters on half shell and salmone carpaccio followed by veal alla francese. The atmosphere was classic New York Italian restaurant. I picked this restaurant because of its participation in NYC Restaurant Week and its location off the beaten path. I must say I am very glad that I did. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed each dish, especially the clams. The service was top notch and we felt catered to without feeling as if the staff was hovering over us. The place is smaller than you would expect but the noise level is so low you barely notice any one else is there. I will definitely visit this restaurant again out side of Restaurant Week.
