  • "I went there with my wife on July 3rd as many locals took off for a long holiday weekend. Dining here made it feel like we had gone away too! It is a very professional staff serving excellent food in a classic Italian restaurant"

  • "The restaurant and its staff were phenomenal. The food and service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends."

  • "Although everyone was very friendly, the decor and food was very old style. Over seasoned and not really all the pretty to look at. Wine choices were above par and fairly priced. Downstairs is better to eat as it is less noisy, but the room was freezing to the point we had to ask them to turn down the AC. Service started off well, but dropped off as the tables filled up. They brought a very unappetizing plate of samples deserts to the table which really killed any desire for desert after looking at samples that were clearly sitting out for a while. "

  • "In our opinion this is one of the best restaurants in NYC. The staff, the food and the service are all above expectations. This statement is based on our experience in some of the finest restaurants in the city. "

  • "Great overall dining experience. The music was outstanding and it is wonderful to find a restaurant where one can enjoy good food and entertainment as well. Service staff was friendly and welcoming. My veal entree I thought was average; however, my friend said her pasta was amazing. I would definitely return to try other selections. I love the ambiance."

  • "Wow! Great food. Excellent friendly service. A piano player playing show toons and jazz. No rush. A leisurely dinner to remember. And after 7 PM you have a good chance of parking for free on the street. We'll be back soon."

  • "Another outstanding evening at Rossini's! The menu is great on its own while the specials make decisions difficult. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. For us Rossini's is a "must do" when visiting New York. "

  • "I felt like I was stepping back in time as I entered Rossini's for the first time. The formally dressed staff greeted me and led me into the formal dining room where piano music filled the room. Many of the grey haired diners seemed to be "regulars". I had chosen it because of the location where I was meeting a friend. We were able to enjoy the delicious but pricey food and also hear one another talk without the usual din found in so many restaurants today. "

  • "Our main courses were very good and priced appropriately. Unpleasant surprises: $14 for a glass of house wine and for a mixed drink. $12 for a bowl off soup which was only fair."

  • "After 3 years my return visit was just as fulfilling as my first. Great professional service, great food outstanding visit"

  • "The noise level in the front bar and dinning area was very quiet which is we're we sat. The main dinning area seemed a little noisy."
    Dined on 5/5/2014
  • "Although the food was delicious and the ambiance romantic we waited 20 mins for appetizers and nearly an hour for our mains."

  • "We stumbled on this restaurant because it was raining and decided to not dash the remaining 3 blocks to the place we had originally planned to eat. What a great idea! I had the rigitoni and my friend had the risotto of the day (mushroom). Both were amazing. The next day I walked 7 blocks to return for the rigitoni!"

  • "Dinner was very good and the service was terrific! At one point I glanced around the dining area and all parties were smiling and enjoying their time. That should tell you something. Also, live pianist provided a nice ambiance without being too loud. "

  • "This is the only decent dinner that I had in NYC over a 3-day weekend. The food and service were good and the ambience was very good. It was relatively late and we had great service. Moreover, the pianist was very friendly. All other restaurants that I tried this weekend were terrible. I guess coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, my expectations for the quality over price quotient are higher."

  • "We especially enjoyed the couple who sang opera and classic Broadway tunes."

  • "have been here on a few business occasions for lunch but never with my wife for dinner; we were given a great corner banquette, had wonderful service from Wilson and the other tuxedoed-waiters; took their recommendations for food, and they even made an off-menu dish for my wife-- the whole meal was spectacular, and the surroundings couldn't be better... as i live right around the corner, was tempted not to write such a glowing review , but they deserve it!"

  • "We were greeted by the maitre d', and offered the opportunity to check our coats right away. We had a 7:15pm reservation and were immediately seated in a corner table away from the piano as requested. The service was good and not intrusive, the wine excellent and the food as well. Piano ambience was very nice and we were not so close that it interfered with conversation. We had been here once before, a few years ago, and now are reminded that we should come more often. It was relatively crowded for a Thursday night and I am glad we made a reservation."

  • "This was one of the best restaurants I have even eat in ever! Delicious, wonderful service. I felt like I was in Italy on vacation. Bravo!"

  • "Everything on the menu is great with a fantastic wine list and knowledgeable bartender. Minestrone is exceptional !"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We usually love dining at Rossini's.....however, although it was pleasant to have live entertainment..the singers were 'belting' out songs in their 'operatic' voices that were so overpowering four of us could not have a conversation over dinner. Soft dinner music would have enhanced the evening. Saturday night is out for us at Rossini's! Choose a week night without the LOUD SiNGING is my suggestions"

  • "As always, the food is out of this world. Took a client for lunch. Food and service were impeccable."

  • "Tucked away, just east of the corner of Park and 38th, is one of the finest northern Italian restaurants in NY. The waitstaff was very attentive, even on a very busy (after 8:00 p.m.) night. Even though my reservation was made only 45 minutes prior to arrival, I was seated at at a banquette overlooking the main dining room; I felt more than comfortable as a single woman, even though most (but not all) were parties of 2, 4, or more. The meal was delicious, well-presented and I did not feel rushed. I ordered decaf at the end of the meal and a fresh pot was made just for me!"

  • "We have been coming to Rossinis they make you feel like you have arrived home at each visit! Food and service has always been top notch. Have had intamate dinners for 2 as well as my parents 50th anniversary here, and a Corporate function with over 75 people, In every case - excellent!"

  • "Rossini's give you a great experience. Me and my Girlfriend went there for Valentines day. We had the Manicotti and it was amazing. we also had their chicken and beef which was also fantastic. We finished with some ice cream. for a top end restaurant the pricing was reasonable. I spent about 150 dollars on the night."

  • "I needed to find a restaurant to accommodate a party of 5 on only 3 hours notice. I had never been to Rossini's but the menu looked good and the prices seemed reasonable. When I arrived, I was told that someone in the party had called to add two more people and we were accommodated with no problem and with apparent pleasure. The service was excellent and we never felt rushed. The live piano player was an added treat. The food was delicious and the portions large enough to satisfy a hungry crew. Every person in the party enjoyed their meal [pasta, chicken, fish, different appetizers and deserts] raved about Rossini's. And, they validate so the parking was only $10!"

  • "I have been going here for years when in NY. It is still one of the truly great restaurants for food and service!"
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "The best part about the meal was the starter bread and butter and the bruchetta they served for service. All the plates after that was doused in SALT. It was very SALTY. Some of us ordered Pasta of the day, believing it would at least be homemade pasta (being it got four stars) but it didn't taste any better than something you would serve out of can to a kid coming home from school. Even the spumoni was a flop (the taste & presentation both). The saltiness of the food will not want me to go back. A Disappoined Let Down."
