Diner Reviews
  • "From the time we were seated to the time we left, the service was excellent. We both started with a martini. The bread was fresh and the tapenade spread was seasoned perfectly. For starters, he ordered the Cesar salad and I had the Insulata Caprese salad. We both ordered the filet mignon; he ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine rare. Both were cooked to order. The filet's were so tender and delicious. For sides, he ordered the mushroom macaroni and cheese and I ordered the mashed potatoes. The sides are extremely large and there is more than enough to have shared. For dessert, we ordered a carrot cake and a lemon dessert. However, we were so full that we ended up taking them home with us. A great addition to the North Shore. "

  • "We arrived , waitress was friendly and very good , and placed Our order . Received our drinks and salad and then waited Almost over 2 hours for our meal . That definitely put A damper on the night . Meal was excellent but would not return Due to the troubled long wait ."

  • "I love the feel of this place very elegant and high end. I enjoy dining in a great atmosphere and they certainly have that. I felt the server was there to take care of my every need. We had a great server. our meal: I found our appetizer of mussels to be very tasty but the mussels were extremely small. My partner's steak which was the 22 oz. Prime Rib Eye was fabulous. Unfortunately for me my Delmonico steak was over cooked and not to my liking (I didn't complain) The sides were tasty Asparagus was done perfectly and my twice baked potato was tasty but I like fresh vegetables It is a place that is very high priced for north of Boston."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner on Saturday evening. Would recommend this for a great local restaurant if you wanted the Boston feeling without driving in. Food was excellent, service terrific. Only one exception to the whole evening was that our sides were a little late. Our main dish was served and we waited for the extras - a little too long!"

  • "From start to finish there was nothing to complain about. We got there early and went into the market downstairs and bought lots of goodies to take home, stuffed peppers, arancini, Italian cookies. This restaurant is lovely, and I can't wait to go back and sit on there outside dining area. The food was amazing. We had the caprese salad which was so inventive and delicious. I had the short ribs with creamy polenta and my friend had the pan seared halibut. We actually had to take our desserts to go because we were so stuffed. I bought a groupon and now I wish I bought ten of them! I highly recommend this place and I will be going back soon. Even though I live on the South Shore, it was worth the trip!"

  • "We had a bad experience at Rosarias on Friday night. Service was a bit slow even though there were only 5 tables occupied. We both got steak, since it is supposed to be their specialty and we both had to send our steaks back for being cooked incorrectly. Steaks were tasteless and mashed potatoes tasted as if they came from a box. After spending $200 for 2 person dinner we were extremely disappointed and will never go back."

  • "Everything was awesome from the appetizer to the dessert! We went with another couple. We had a Groupon and were curious about the place. But all the food was well cooked and tasted incredible. We would certainly return even without a discount."

  • "The service and food was great. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. She had a good understanding of the menu. My steak was cooked perfect. The restaurants atmosphere and decor is very well decorated. This is my 3rd time and I will be back."

  • "Joe knows food! Great ambience inside, beautful design and decor, decided to eat at bar with 2 friends, service couldn't have been better or more attentive. Food arrived in reasonable time between apps to entrees, hot and delicious. Menu is great, lots of great options from steak to Italian. Something for everyone. Guests were first timers, they loved it, said they couldn't wait to come back."

  • "My husband and I have given Rosaria's three chances to redeem itself... and, sadly, there is no redemption to be had. The atmosphere is Top-Notch... wouldn't change a thing! Beautiful! And, how they serve their martinis... also Top-Notch! Buuuuut, the service (personable, but inexcusably slow), and the FOOD, has NO WOW!!!! :/ How is it that Rosaria's has the atmosphere that it does, charges the prices it does, and time and time again, the food does not live up to expectation? Very sad! I would like to see them succeed, but unfortunately, my husband and I are out of this ball game... Three strikes, you're out!!"

  • "Everything from the minute you arrived until you left was wonderful. The food was so good and enough to take a doggy bag home. Every course was better than the next. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that would want a great meal and treated special by everyone. It was a great night."

  • "This was our first trip to Rosaria and what a find! Although you would not expect it in Saugus, this place was fabulous! The decor is lovely, the staff were very attentive and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed appetizers and wine as well as a wonderful meal and tasty desserts! Everything was cooked to perfection and the setting is just lovely. We will be back!"

  • "We've dined at Rosaria a few times now and nothing but the best each time. Good food, service, well made drinks etc. The hostesses, wait staff and management all try to make for a great dining experience."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Rosaria, especially since we had a groupon. I love the decor. I have been there before with another groupon. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. She was able to explain the groupon and the different meals and specials. Our meat was perfect. Salads great and dessert yummy. The only thing I need to comment on is that after our salads the restaurant got extremely busy and it took forever to get our main meal. This is not the waitress......this is the kitchen. It wasn't just us. It seemed that everyone was waiting for the their main course."

  • "Hi..My rating for service had nothing to do with our waitress. She was great. We had a 7 pm reservation but didn't get seated until 7:30. We didn't leave the restaurant until after 10:00. Our waitress was sweet and prompt but every entree took forever. There were two woman sitting beside us who were experiencing the same thing. We all had a good laugh. I hadn't seen my cousin, who I was dining with, in a while so we didn't mind the extended dining experience. And the food was great. But anyone who wants prompt service should not go here because it's anything but prompt."

  • "The Caesar salad was not very good. The sirloin steak was good but the delmonico steak was tough and not cooked as ordered. Prices much too high for quality of food and location Service painfully slow and the restaurant was almost completely empty."

  • "Staff was great but the food was NOT good. So disappointing. I ordered a filet and lobster serviced on linguine - the lobster came in a few pieces stuffed into a martini glass of fettucini. I live here closeby, too bad this cant be my go to. Ordered a great bottle of wine tho....sommlier was great."

  • "Beautiful restaurant as long as the fact that it is over a grocery store does not bother you. Once you get inside you forget about that! Service was excellent, food was great and plenty of it. The bar area was very noisy, don't know if this is always the case or just some very loud patrons. We sat away from the bar and we could not hear them, but some tables are right next to it, other that that the noise level was average. It is a little pricey, typical high end steak house a la carte prices-$39 filet, $46 ribeye. Martinis were delicious, nicely served and ended up being two full glasses worth! Steaks were tender, cooked to perfection, and the haddock and lobster special with asparagus ($30) was spectacular and enough for two meals!"

  • "My husband and I found this restaurant quite a delight. The food was outstanding - little fried ricotta balls topped the Caesar salad - and many other wonderful touches. The service was outstanding and the ambiance lovely. We usually trek into Boston for a fantastic steak, but now we have found another gem."

  • "First time at this restaurant and we were very disappointed. Noise from the bar carried over to the dinning room and spoiled the atmosphere. First course was good but main course was not good and not even warm. Service we ok but there should be more help. Swordfish was served with a sauce that we were told would not be on the fish. After taking it back the meal was very cold. We had to ask to have that meal removed from the bill since it was not eaten. They would have done that without us asking."

  • "This dinner was to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and valentines day all in one shot. It was perfect! We had gotten the groupon deal for the dinner and the waitress clearly explained the "rules" of the groupon and we had a fantastic romantic fancy dinner."

  • "We tried Rosaria for the first on Valentines Day. Loved it!! Although slightly pricey it was well worth it! We were pleasantly surprised with the extremely good food, service and ambience. Absolutely loved the gravy they provide with the bread when you get to your table. The people from the time I made the reservation to seating and coat check to the sommelier and waitress were all top notch. We will definitely be going back. We noticed they have a bar menu that we will give a whirl on our next visit. Also, for foodies I noticed they have an evening with Mary Ann Esposito dinner on the calendar. For the record...no, I do not know anyone at the restaurant, the experience with just that good."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Rosario the other night. We didn't mind the location (over a VFW and a restaurant supply place?) because it's so beautiful once you get upstairs - you really don't care. It is definitely a hidden gem. It helps that we live very close by. We thought the food was excellent. The ricotta gnocchi was reminiscent of a dish I had in Roma and that's saying something. The filet Mignon I had was very good. It was a little more rare than I like it, but I think that's probably better than it being overcooked. The wine list was what you'd expect from a good stake house. We found a nice bottle of mid-priced Pinot that we'd recommend if I could remember the name, lol!"

  • "Start to finish the wait staff struggles. From knowledge of menu items to timeliness of service. Food was fair and definitely not work the money they charge. Long and short of it I will not be back can can't recommend to anybody to go there only recommend them to stay away and spend their steak money at Pallanas in Peabody."

  • "Food was good. Service lacking. Ordered sides with steaks & they didn,t come out with the dinner, after telling them to forget the sides, the manager(?) Said they were on the house. Restaurant has great potential, but for an upscale restaurant the service needs some improvement."

  • "This was our first visit and we were very pleased with the food and the ambiance. Our service was good except for an unexplained delay in serving the appetizer. The steaks were exceptionally good. Prices are high but the quality of food is also very high."

  • "Overall food was good, but presentation could be better. We didn't care for the bland cold red sauce that came with the bread, would rather have dipping oil or just butter. Brocoli rabe and sausage stuffed mushrooms were fantastic, big mushrooms and lots of flavor! Zuppa di Pesce was good, but the empty lobster carcass on top of my plate was a turn off and the lobster claw was not cracked before serving. The Filet Mignon & Lobster combo was good and bad. The filet was delicious and cooked to perfection, but the fettucine and lobster was out of place served in the martini glass and the pasta was bland and undercooked. Cannolis for dessert were great! Thanks to Massimo for taking care of dessert and addressing our concerns. We will come back."

  • "This was my second time dining at restaurant and first was much better. From the second we were seated there was confusion on ordering bottled flat water - they brought sparkling. Thought food was plain and needed more flavor. Lots of mistake with actual meal - requested sauce on the side, yet smothered on my steak. Potato was supposed to be double baked yet had had in it, but was never informed of this when I asked how it was prepared. Restaurant needs to pay more attention to detail as has potential to be much better than it is."

  • "This was our first visit and it was great. Our server, Andrew, was pleasant, efficient and offered a great choice of Merlot. He was also helpful regarding which dessert took some time to prepare, if we were in a hurry. Sides, appetizers and entrees were all delicious. We will visit again."

  • "My wife and I went to dinner on Saturday 16 November 2013. The server was attentive and tried to make up for the extremely slow response from the kitchen. The appetizer took 50+ minutes from the time the order was placed until it arrived at the table. This with the restaurant not particularly busy. The salads and entrees arrived after about 30 minutes of waiting. The delay was blamed on a new menu and a kitchen staff that was unfamiliar with the new menu. In fairness to the Rosaria's, the staff went out of their way to salvage the dining experience. We will go back at a later date to see if our first experience was the exception rather than the rule."
