Rosa Mexicana is a bit pricey but very worth it. I also felt the restaurant's elegance and professionalism. The guacamole made in front of us was a fun and enjoyable experience. Eating it was so delicious. I had the spicy Mexican cocktail drink and it was strong and perfect. What can I say about the food?? Extremely delicious. As soon as I tasted the chicken fajita all the different flavors exploded in my mouth. With one bite I had to make my friend who ordered something else try it. It was extremely delicious. Read some not so great reviews, but have eaten at the Columbus Circle location, & decided to try it. What a great experience! Went to the bar, had great 1800 margarita's, the bartender took pictures of us - fun! Then went to a great table in the middle of the restaurant near the blue waterfall, & next to a bachelorette party of 12 girls. Had guacamole prepared table side that was great, then had the recommended short ribs with rice & spices - excellent! Finished off with a couple of more drinks. The atmosphere was fun, the food was excellent, & the waiter was so accommodating & knowledgeable. I've been there with both large groups and then just with one other person. And no matter what it's always a great experience. The service is great and the waiters are genuinely friendly and helpful. He also sent over a dessert on the house...unannounced. I have been to Rosa many times but I never got the "personal touch" as I did this visit. His involvement is evident because the service staff is top notch and a reflection of his efforts I'm sure. Great experience for us and our friends from Pennsylvania, who have never been to Rosa. The menu is authentic and I love the atmosphere. Decorated very beautifully. It's in a fantastic area (union square). The only thing was the chips for the guacamole were super salty. We booked a table at 2 other restaurants who called to cancel at the last minute due to issues and Rosa gladly accepted us last minute. We prefer the Union Square location for its vibe and always-friendly reception. I personally really appreciated the fact that my party was allowed to sit before I arrived. I called when I realized that traffic would not allow me to arrive on time. The hostess was most accommodating; although I know they usually don't seat the party until it's complete. Breaking the rules was most appreciated. But Rosa Mexicano can and will cater to larger groups. Our waitress was great - there when we needed her, knowledgable about the menu, amusing and did not hover. The food is terrific - and, of course, you simply have to order the guacamole. We all enjoyed our dishes and one of our party ordered something not on the menu which the waitress and kitchen complied with.
