Our waitress had wonderful food/drink recommendations and also was kind enough to congratulate me and bring free delicious margaritas to celebrate my graduation.
We had a full feast of a meal and everything was stunningly presented with great bright colors and was delicious with intriguing flavours.
It was a bit loud at times but the ambience is a lot of fun with bright colors and a constant buzz. It had a cool vibe.. without trying too hard to be cool!!
In terms of price: while I personally could not go with my just-out-of-college-and-therefore-with-limited-funds friends, it is great for a special occasion and it is worth every penny. This was my first visit to Union Sq - usually go to Lincoln Center location and it was a little bit more casual, fun-Mexicacana-chic, and friendly. I've never had a disappointing menu selection and as always - the table-side guac was a little bit of heaven. Our server was a little late in taking our order but more than made-up for it with gratis signature pomegranate margaritas. Started with the organic white sangria this time and it was the perfect spring, luncheon cocktail. Could go there every week and never tire of the experience. I had the spicy Mexican cocktail drink and it was strong and perfect. What can I say about the food?? Extremely delicious. As soon as I tasted the chicken fajita all the different flavors exploded in my mouth. With one bite I had to make my friend who ordered something else try it. It was extremely delicious. Between the great margaritas, the guacamole and the well edited menu, all are happy and cheerful. The flavors are distinct, the portion sizes are right and the large and airy room fills but not with overwhelming noise. The Baja fish tacos are particularly tasty although they should offer a grilled version as well as fried for the fish . He also sent over a dessert on the house...unannounced. I have been to Rosa many times but I never got the "personal touch" as I did this visit. His involvement is evident because the service staff is top notch and a reflection of his efforts I'm sure. Great experience for us and our friends from Pennsylvania, who have never been to Rosa.
