At times you will see how the 'chain-esque' tenets bleed through but that doesn't make it a bad dining choice that just love exceptional food. There are some very ordinary but there are some very extraordinary dishes. The price is relatively cheap to the overall quality, unless you are the snobbiest of food snobs, you will not go wrong with a visit here."

  • "Situated with a nice view of the harbor, Rosa Mexicano was a clear choice for Mexican food in Boston. Although the food wasn't very spicy (the waiter was quick to bring peppers to add to my salsa), is was vibrant and inviting. Everything tasted fresh, and I wasn't rushed through my meal. The waiters were polite and knowledgeable about the menu, and waiter could even identify specific flavors in the food. Cost was reasonable for Boston: around $10 for a drink (alcoholic) and around $20-35 for an entree. The restaurant filled up quick, even at 6pm, so definitely get a reservation ahead of time. There were couples, business travelers, and families with small children dining making for a loud atmosphere."

  • "So I went to this place expecting something great since a cheese enchilalda costs $16. I sat down and looked at the menu. 3 vegetarian choices. I then asked the server if they had any burritos. Nothing. Absolutely none. What kind of Mexican restaurant charges 16+ per enter and doesn't have one burrito? I then asked for a veggie enchilada and the server made a face at me as if I was an alien. I would never go again."

Accommodated the change of our reservation an hour and a half beforehand, gave us wonderful service and treatment, served top notch food that was out of this world and even accommodated us as we needed to leave for an emergency just after we ate our apps and before we were served our dinners. They took the dinners off the bill and expiidited the payment service so we could get out the door in a hurry to respond to the emergency. Incredible service, friendly staff, delicious food, beautiful ambiance. I can't say anything better about this place! I'm really looking forward to going back next time I'm in Boston. Handsdown one of the best dining experiences I've had."

  • "My friends and I have eaten at RM a number of time through the years both in Boston and in Washington, DC. I've never been disappointed. The food is always very good. I can't call the food great, because RM is a large chain aimed to provide consistency well-made, fresh food. So, there is no great chef back in the kitchen. As with the food, the service is well-trained and competent. The only problem I've ever had is noise, because the RM is usually filled with people, and they all have large bars. So be prepared for that."

Gave us the low down on the menu according to what each of us was craving. We were so full but well worth it!! I look forward to coming back this week! Waitress was Kat (Kathleen) who spoke Spanish and seemed to work so well with her team. She made the experience wonderful in addition to the food."

  • "We had a very delicious dinner and drinks at Rosa this past weekend. The service was great and the place had a great buzz once the loud music was turned down a bit. Our only complaint on the very creative Mexican cuisine was that the portions are HUGE if you order the tacos or enchiladas. With moderate prices in place, it would be a much better dining experience to cut the portions in half and have an attractive presentation of the entrees with their interesting sauces. The dessert was awesome."

  • "the food was amazing - i ordered off the gluten free menu (ceviche, plaintains and chipoltle cremed spinach) and they didn't bring the spinach. turns out the chef said it wasn't gluten free because of the tequila. my sensitivity isn't severe so i decided to have it anyway - it was so worth it!!! just thought it was odd the chef and front of house weren't on the same page as to what was gluten free - the gluten menu was a separate printed menu. it was crazy loud and a little hard to talk but the food makes it worth it."

  • "The food here has a nice edge of difference to it. Sure there's table-side guacamole making, but it's really GOOD guac. The house margarita is excellent too. I was lucky enough to have the mole' which apparently has recently come off the menu and I can say it was top notch as good as I had recently in Jalisco. Portions are appropriate, the service seems a bit harried, but overall good. The proximity to the World Trade Center makes it a great after-conference stop."

We were seated at the rear of the restaurant by ourselves while there were empty tables in the middle and front of the restaurant. Waiter did not ask if it was our first time there. Never told us the specials, if there were any. We ordered appetizers before we ordered cocktails. . . .had to ask waiter if we could order a cocktail. My margarita was served in a whiskey glass filled to the top with ice. . . 3 sips and it was gone. Waiter never came back to ask if we wanted another cocktail. My carnita tacos were cold, dry and lacked any seasoning. Mexican restaurant and no seasoning! Enchiladas were too spicey, it made me cough and eyes tear."

  • "My only issue with it was for a seaport restaurant on a Friday night the crowd was surprisingly either not-young or too-young (people with small children). Across the street everyone seems to be 20-30s and single. It's a bit ridiculous of me to call this an "issue" when I'm over 40 and have children myself, but..when out dining on a Friday night in Boston I prefer to not to be around my kids or anyone else's. I also prefer to be one of the older people in the room. So I can kid myself that I fit in, of course, when I actually do not. That said, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and will definitely go back. With all the other old people."

  • "The hostess refused to seat us - even though there were open tables available - until our whole party arrived.Having to stand around and wait started the night on a sour note for me. It was cold and very very loud! Our waiter was great. The guacamole was to die for, though $28 was too high a price. I ordered the crab enchiladas. The crab was very strong smelling, which surprised me. The crab meat filling was not particularly tasty, but the sauce on the enchiladas was very very good.The portion size was too small for the price. I splurged and ordered the La Ultima margarita. It was very yummy, but for $17 it should have been twice the size. The four of us spent just under $300- I felt Rosa Mexicana was not worth this price."

  • "The guacamole was very good and is served very quickly tableside. The chips are much too thin IMO. It was hard to scoop guac with the delicate chips. I ordered the baja fish tacos and they were very good. The sauces were good and the fish was fried elegantly. My wie ordered the chicken enchilada's and enjoyed them. The beans were refried and the rice is interestingly similr to chipotle. Overall, it was good but nothing extraordinary."
