It won’t. Portions are definitely on the small side; disappointingly so. (Especially as good as it was!) Plan to order appetizers & such if you want to leave feeling satiated. Yes, this does add to the price tag, of course.
Noise level could be lower to make the atmosphere nicer.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but your taste buds will be very happy with you for spending the $. Value received for money spent!
The music is not the best for dining. Should be more on the soothing side.

While the menu has changed, the basics have not. Excellent ingredients in relatively simple recipes, executed to perfection. We started with an order of muscles that were the most tender I've ever had. Simple broth with some white wine and herbs was delicious. My wife had short ribs while I had the New York. The food is delicious and there is a good variety of items. Mimosas are a must! Warning, if you like to indulge, expect to spend a good 3-4 hours dining. I promise it will be worth it. We love the modern yet comfortable decor. Its a nice change from the old Dutch look of Solvang. The service is attentive, not rushed and personable. Living in LA we are used to amazing cuisine but Solvang's Root 246 dished out one of the best meals I've had. The salted potatoes appetizer was simply done and delicious. The salad as well, lightly dressed greens that exuded freshness. The quinoa was the best I have had anywhere - we asked for a spoon to get every drop of the sauce. And we ended the night with fresh lime sherbet. Oh - and every bite was vegan. Amazing and beautifully presented. We ate on the patio and it was a beautiful night. Our service was impeccable. The hanger steak was recommended by the server and FourSquare reviews. I ordered it but it was too salty. I wanted to give it a chance, but it was crusted in salt and also was presented on salted potatoes which were too salty. So salty that each bite I tried to give it a chance, it just ranged from salty to extremely salty. I had to send it back. Celebrated husband's birthday on a Sat. for romantic getaway to Santa Barbara area for a few nights. The service was outstanding, it was very lively, fun but not overly so. They accommodated me somewhat being gluten-free but would have liked more choices on the sharing plates (Ours) menu like if they had used a wheat-free soy sauce on the bacon wrapped dates or just a few more choices beyond olives. Also, salad came w/ croutons after I made it clear thru many questions re GF.

There were six of us and we were seated at a round table which was great for conversation. Our server was wonderful, knowledgeable and was right on with her recommendations when asked. Great service from everyone beginning with the hostess. We loved the menu, the taste of the food, the wine list, and the overall ambience.
