Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen - South ParkSuprised it was a good fit for kidsRoosters is usually our date night spot as my husband and I enjoy sitting at the food bar and watching it call come together. We decided to take our 2 children (10) along with our aunt and uncle and had a great time. I had no idea Roosters had a kid menu and it had some diversity that showcased their great menu. We sat at a U shaped booth which was very nice so that the entire table could interact- a plus when 2 members are kids. And, the noise level was perfect that we could all enjoy the conversation. All sides a la carte, but big enough to share. Wine list okay although I've had some I did not care for on a previous visit. Server this time allowed me to sample two wines to make a decision which was very helpful and he was quite knowledgeable on the selections available.

We always order the fried corn as a side. The chicken (of course) is always good and the short ribs are some of the best in town. We choose it for our Easter meal because the food is great and the prices are good.We were VERY disappointed to find that the Easter meal was a buffet and was $35 per person which did not include drinks. Drinks were an additional $2.50. We had invited family to join us, so we could not leave and go for a better priced option. We also treated our guests. The food was good, but we could not order our favorites. I know an Easter crowd is hard and a buffet works well. I just wish someone had let us know the price and the buffet set up. Yummy desserts as well with the currant bread pudding with vanilla gelato topping the list. Coconut cake was very good as well. Roosters is a well run establishment that produces a consistent product every time we've been there. Their small plate approach encourages selecting several dishes and sharing.
