  • "One of the best meals we have had in a restaurant HANDS DOWN! The calamari - perfectly fried, awesome on their own but out of this world when dipped in the accompanying sauce. Our entrees included the fish and chips (you had my husband at waffle cut sweet potato fries!) and blackberry sauce glazed salmon over a bed of white bean ragout. Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and the service could not have been better. The house coffee was some of the best we have ever had after a meal! We opted for a table in the bar area and our bartender/server that evening was an absolute pleasure! We do not often eat out and when we do are almost always disappointed - absolutely NOT the case this time."

  • "Pad Thai was not pad thai - has the chef ever eaten authentic Thai food? Pork would have been good IF there was any sort of flavor other then the overwhelming saltiness. Calamari was undercooked. The service was good, the atmosphere is always nice....but we won't be going back for an evening meal."

  • "If you enjoy great food and poor service, then this is the place for you... I made reservations here for Valentines Day 2014 for my girlfriend & I. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly host who looked up our reservation & then went to make sure our table was ready. I had made a request for a specific table and when the man returned to look at the book, & then went back to the dining room a second time, I knew they had sat someone at the table I requested. He did not apologize or even recognize the fact that this had happened & instead sat us at a table in the exact opposite place of the requested one. We had a server who had no clue what she was doing; received bread and app within minutes of each other & took 20 mins to get check."

  • "When you enter Roost, you are immediately welcomed by the sweet smell of burning hardwood and the comfort of the post and beam construction. The menu is diverse and interesting. We started with the fried calamari. This gluten free (our choice) app was crunchy tender and delicious. The salads were fresh and crunchy, the caeser not overdressed. The Cuban Pork was very tasty, but the flavor was over shadowed by the sodium load. I enjoyed the rice cake and black bean sauce, but could not finish the meat. Broiled scallops were delicious. Overall, it was a good dining experience but a somewhat inattentive server and salt lick main prevented it from being great. I'll return and try the short ribs or salmon."

  • "How wonderful for a great local eatery to treat the locals to a dining adventure in this winter's Wednesday night world dinners. South Africa and Madigascar were wonderful and I look forward to future Wednesday's menus and traveling the culinary globe without leaving the state!"

  • "Our mid-winter visit was splendid. Our starters, my pate and my wife's caesar salad, were perfectly done, as was the special duck entree. Throughout all service, drinks, etc. were just fine. We ate in the main dining area, which is extremely pleasant...feels like the dining room in a large house. We enjoyed this restaurant for many years when it was Provence, but were always disappointed that it closed in winter. The new owners have kept some of the French influence and have a year round schedule. But...There is no parking for people with disabilities..Ogunquit being one of the few places in America where people like me can have a very hard time with access. A manager permitted us to park near the entrance, but there should be spaces."

  • "Good review, Except for the service. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their meals, and the restaurant is lovely and cozy. The service was another story, and I am a server myself! It's possible that this woman is in the wrong profession as she had little to no personality, and the interactions that she did have with us were very cold. Honestly, she just came off as a bitter waitress; Unfriendly, short with us, and rushed us the entire time. And forgot a glass of wine. The real kicker was that we were celebrating two birthdays, of which we had made a note with our reservation to put two candles in our dessert. Dessert came with no candles, but she did make sure to drop the check with it. Very disappointing. Loved the food though..."

  • "We were used going to 98 Provence for several years. Roost has many Cuban twists, as it's owned by a gentleman who came from Cuba. The Salmon had a very unique flavor as it was dusted with Caribbean spices. Nice change of pace. The roasted beet salad was fresh & tasty.I also had the Chicken Liver Pate'. Very nice..but WAY too large a portion. There wasn't near enough toast to spread it on. The portion was near the size of a small tennis ball. Great flavor, but just too large a portion.Richard had the Pork, which was a take on pulled pork. Very nice flavor.The dessert was kind of a coconut cheesecake. Really nice without being too dense as cheesecake can be. Overall a nice experience."
