"Midtown's Room 39 continues to deliver high quality and notable meals. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner at the restaurant this week. The service is always good, the room comfortable, but it is the food that is the draw. The courses are innovative without being over the top. Great bang for the buck. You can always count on the quality of the ingredients. There was no doubt about the freshness of our halibut, nor the seared fois gras. Superb."

"As usual, the food was terrific. The sticking point was the service. Our appetizer came almost immediately but then the salad took another 30 minutes, followed by the entree and dessert. And food that was terrific? - It would have been even more so if the waitress left the bread on the table to finish up the wonderful reduced sauce than came with the entrees. We'll be back for sure, but more attention has to be paid to timing."

"Lunch at room 39 is a choice I often make for one-on-one business meetings, but our foodie-driven Friday lunch group at work sometimes forgets how good it is when we only have four. The daily menu always makes choosing hard; I still think it's the best burger in KC; and I have yet to see someone disappointed by their meal."

"We were just visiting Kansas City and I chose to eat at Room 39 based on the James Beard nominees. The place did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the interior of the restaurant - it was very cute & cozy! The service was excellent and the food was simply delicious! I was also impressed with the wine selection - one of the recommended wines for my husban'd entree was no longer available, but the "substitue" was absolutely delicious! Anytime I return to Kansas City, this is a MUST!"
