Friday evening at 8PM - active, mainly students; fun to be there; waitress and staff took care of us - even called ahead of time to let us know our reservation was received, but because they were very busy there would be a slight delay - in the end 15minutes wait, very appropriate in our opinion given the activity of Friday night. We chose the Tapas style selections and shared: Arancini, Duck Spring Rolls, Salmon skewers, and Fish Tacos - all were great, excellent preparation. a surprise, and fun evening.

Room 38 is definitely becoming a go-to spot. The menu has always been eclectic and interesting but the food would sometimes be less than ideal temperature or slow to arrive. On our last 2 visits, the food has been outstanding and delicious and appetizers and meals arrived in a reasonable time frame with good spacing. Definitely a place to visit!

We visited Room 38 as a family to celebrate our son's college graduation. We had a great early dinner with excellent service. A special thank you to the bartender who made our teen daughter a virgin cocktail so she would not feel left out. Thanks again for making our visit so memorable!

The appetizers were wonderful - must try the portobello mushroom fries & pretzel bites - delish! The lobster macaroni and cheese was the bomb. The waitress a little distracted so you kind of had to flag her down now and then for more drinks. Warning - once you are given your check - you are OUT. No more service for you. Good place to try but will not return.

This restaurant is definitely for a sophisticated youth. The food is good, but nothing exotic, and the seating is more ideal for just drinks rather than a full meal. Don't make reservations for big groups. Its not that kind of restaurant.

We enjoyed a seven course, prix fixe meal at Room 38. The food was good-to-very-good, (with the stuffed shrimp being simply good and the lobster bisque being very good), creatively and well prepared, well plated, and each course accompanied by a cleverly paired sparkling wine. We were glad that we sat at the bar, as most seating in the place is comprised of low tables—ideal for cocktails and meze, but maybe not so comfortable for a meal.

Arrived and was very surprised by the small size of this establishment. We had reservations for 7:30, they could not seat us at a table till after 8:20p. Food was good, drinks were good, music very loud and hard to carry on a conversation.

They had some kind of bass booming club mix going on all through dinner. All of the tables were screaming trying to talk above the music and the other tables also screaming, so we were screaming to talk to people at the other end of the table. Maybe if you were just sitting right next to someone you could hear them but we had a group of 7. Food was good.

In town visiting our son we chose to celebrate his 21st birthday at Room 38. Our server was darling and very attentive however our food was terrible. The chicken lettuce wraps were served with romaine lettuce leaves which are way too soft and flimsy to use for a wrap. Te chicken filling was very tough and tasteless. My sin had the scallops which were very tough and rubbery. My husband's filet was pretty good. The atmosphere is cool and again we loves our server. The food to say the least was a disappointment.

The food was great. We had asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with a gorgonzola cream sauce that was to die for. The lobster mac n cheese was fantastic. We also liked the scallops wrapped in bacon. The ahi tuna was very fresh, but a little boring, as there was no sauce or wasabi served with it. The milk chocolate dessert fondue was excellent! HOWEVER, our waitress was clueless. She truly seemed not to know where she was. No matter what we said it seemed to be a challenge for her to answer. Pity, but since it's a college town this does happen so I will definitely give Room 38 another chance.

This restaurant is really a bar that serves really good food. The menu was small plate types, but each plate was pretty filling. We tried and shared several different appetizers and small plates. The selection was good. However, they only had a few high top tables for food and then some couch seating with coffee tables in front where they served the meal. Very ackward to eat at and can really only have 3 or 4 comfortably. The place was busy and more like a bar that serves fancy food than a restaurant. This is not a place to bring the kids... or a larger party.

this was a great choice for food, but the seating is really unfriendly to small groups. benches against the wall with small tables in front of them, but no way for seats to be facing you, so difficult to have conversations. The food saved my impressions. The ambiance is okay - far more bar-like than I expected. No real intimate dining experience available here. Food was very tasting and the temperatures spot on. One diner in our party thought your regular fries looked and tasted like they came from McDonalds, which was not a compliment. The sweet potato fries were very good. Noise level is too high so conversation with friends at the other end of the table was challenging at times.
