  • "First time here and wouldn't be our last. The swordfish was perfect and my dinner companion was raving about it well after we left. My salmon with stir fried veggies was just ok, the salmon was cooked perfect but the stir fried veggies were just tri-color peppers. Other plus was that the RooBar had two choice of nonalcoholic beers, but on this Sunday night they were out of both."

  • "Was in Plymouth/Halifax attending a Horse Show, nice to find a local place with great food, and service. Had 3 kids with us who all found food to their liking. Would have liked a larger wine list but was decent. Would definitely go back."

  • "The Roo Bar is a great spot if you are looking for well made fokd. I have been to the restaurant three times and have gotten three different things. All of them were delicious and I would get them all again!"

  • "Had heard a bit of buzz about the food. We ordered the mussels which were excellent as well as the beet salad and that was very good. One diner ordered the seafood paella and it was an excellent version of the well known disk. Other diner ordered a pasta dish which was good. Ambiance was lively on the bar side and that was great."

  • "All of the staff was wonderful especially with the children at our table and another table that had a child related mishap. The elderly large group of ladies seated next to us drifted in slowly and had many requests with several special dietary needs. We were particularly impressed with their waitress as she handled all their questions with grace and patience; repeatedly. Every dish at our table was hot, delicious, large, and impressive. RooBar pizza is consistently a wood fired delight. This was our third time dining there and we'll be going more often."

  • "They have an awesome menu with great gourmet cuisine. I went there with my cousin and aunt for our birthdays and we all had the beet and goat cheese salad and different main dishes. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. I highly recommend it."

  • "Myself and five others ventured to RooBar to celebrate my wife's birthday. We've been many times before and enjoyed the experience, but this time was painful. Amazing how dramatically poor service affects enjoyment. Our waitress, Gabby, was terrible. I waited literally 15 minutes for a draft beer; she claimed the bar was backed up when I reminded her. She forgot what one of our party ordered for a beverage and came back 5 minutes later to ask. One entree came out wrong. The total time for this dining experience: 2 hours, as we waited what seemed like an eternity for our main course to be delivered. And to top it all off, we received another party's bill. All hiccups were handled with a very laissez faire attitude - disappointed!"

  • "all went pretty well for our party of 4, seated quickly (we had a reservation), apps. / entrees / drinks and desserts all very good (but I would say the entrees are priced on the high side for what they are). The only glitch came when we ordered a second round of drinks - there was a significant delay before they arrived (we were basically done with our meals by the time the drinks got there). We almost sent them back but didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Our Waitress ( Juliette) was very nice and explained that the bar got "slammed" and just couldn't keep up. Overall a good experience, we will return."

  • "The owner was great and very accommodating to my food allergies. The food is inventive and very good. I liked that they offer some meals in two sizes. The desert is worth every bite. I always check out the desert menu first and this menu is actually worth skipping the delicious meal"

  • "We recently had a SMSA group celebration and were looking for. A place to go. Roo-Bar was perfect. The food was good, the place friendly and service was enthusiastic. What else is there? We had a wonderful time."

  • "The food we had was very good as was the service. I don't generally like it when tables are lined up in a row and fairly close together but the night we were in the restaurant, they were reasonably spaced. I found the chair very uncomfortable."

  • "Interesting menu items and decent variety as well as unique takes on the humble pizza make Roo Bar a place I will return too."

  • "We just love this place. The food is amazing, the best around and the service superb! Most places in Plymouth are crowded, with average food. You need to battle the tourists and pay for parking, only to wait 10-20 mins for a table as reservations are either not accepted or you need a party of 6 or more. I love that Roo Bar has free parking, you can reserve a table for 2 and the food is the best we have ever tasted without putting a dent in our wallets. We bring friends here whenever we can and they all agree it is a hidden gem."

  • "We had to go early (5:00) but it was worth it. Everything was top notch. The change in ownership was noticeable in a number of subtle ways. We will definitely go back."

  • "My husband and I went on a night when it was cold outside, so the interior of the restaurant never seemed to warm up. Service was just OK. Our waitress called us "you guys". There weren't a lot of customers, but service was slow. The food was good, but the plates and some of the food was cold. I had the short ribs, which were very good, but lukewarm. The polenta with it was cold. Big turnoff. My husband had scallops and his food was barely warm. When we told the waitress, she didn't offer to heat up the food. The restaurant needs warming lights or they should get the food out faster. This may be a decent spot for pizza. Haven't tried it there, but maybe that comes out warm."

  • "We made our reservation on OpenTable and they had our table waiting for us when we got there. The server was very good and always kept us with drinks and water. Food was good as well - we ordered a few appetizers to split and also a pizza/flatbread. The main problem of the night was the smokiness of the restaurant. The smoke was so overwhelming it was burning our eyes and we could barely keep them open. This definitely affected our night and almost made us leave. We decided to tough it out....."

  • "The salmon was excellent. The fig and apple crisp left a little to be desired. My husband ordered chianti, which they were out of. We had to wait about 15 minutes, even with reservations. Overall, we had a nice meal and enjoyed our time there."

  • "loads of lobster in the lobster ravioli...pizza had crunchy crust, cheesy topping, clever combinations...swordfish was super...child's mac & cheese was even more exciting with 2 shrimp added on the side!"

  • "We were not sure this would be a good place to bring a 93 year old to celebrate his birthday, but he loved it and all four of us had a niceat meal, we were very pleased. We requested a well lit table due to is low vision issues, and the restaurant was accommodating. It was a little disappointing that they did not provide a birthday desert, since I did mention the birthday in my reservation request. That would have been a nice touch."

  • "The food at Roo Bar is the best I've tasted. I love the location where it does not cost to park, the staff are always courteous and efficient, and the food quality is the best I've tasted in Plymouth."

  • "Love sitting near the pizza oven fire. Seats need improvement and are tired, no the most comfortable chairs, booths and stools. Would like to see more comfortable seating, maybe a fireplace in the center of the dining room for more ambiance. Still my fave for the area."

  • "Toolbar is a hidden gem in Cordage Park. With an eclectic menu and creative cuisine, including apps and gourmet wood-fired pizza, Roobar has become our favorite casual local dinner spot."

  • "we enjoyed our dinner although we needed to ask to change table locations several times due to the music and other reasons. they did their best to accomodate us on a very busy nite. the service was good, very quick and the wait staff were very pleasant. the food was very good, the runners made sure the dinners from the open kitchen were delivered hot. drinks, wine were also good. the ambiance in an old converted building is interesting , but no noise baffling since there are open ceilings and no carpeting. overall we would return to see how things are on a not so busy evening,"

  • "Everything was perfect except the noise level that made conversing difficult at a large table. RooBar is in an old mill...rustic, high ceilings, big windows, and has a brick oven that roars with flames....great on a cold winter night. Our dinners were fantastic, and the server was excellent. We ate in the dining room, but there is also dining in the bar (live music on Saturday apparently)."

  • "We went to the RooBar back in the spring and I have been dreaming about my meal ever since. When we finally made our way back again recently, I was just as pleased as before, if not more so. From soup to nuts, the food was fresh and delicious and served with a great presentation. In addition, we had the nicest, friendliest waitress who could not have been more accomodating. The RooBar would be my first choice of restaurants in Plymouth!"

  • "This is a great little find in my neighborhood. It's in an out of the way location but right off a main road so it's pretty accessible. They have a wide variety of pastas, entrees, pizzas in an atmosphere that is several steps above a neighborhood hole in the wall. Food is good and plentiful and the drinks are well poured. I had the swordfish which was excellent and very fresh. My dining companion had the vegetable pesto pasta with chicken. Also very good. It seems to be a happening place for a lot of folks and well worth the trip."

  • "We ordered "small plates" such as Tuna Sashimi, Meatballs, Tempura Shrimp and the fig and Prosciutto Pizza. The wine list is adequate. Loved the splits of Prosecco"

  • "Went here Saturday night last minute and still can't figure out what exactly this restaurant is all about. The decor was a little bit everywhere and too wide open. Good cold beer was a big plus! The menu is also all over the place. I felt like they didn't know exact what type of restaurant they wanted to be. I got pasta which was pretty good, but looking back I wish I got pizza. I have a feeling the pizza was there main appeal."

  • "Every meal at our table was excellent. Cooked perfectly, great flavors. Service was friendly but it seemed because the waitress had tables on both sides of the restaurant we waited an awkwardly long time at each phase of the meal. If the service was better I'd give it 5 stars."

  • "This was our second visit to RooBar. Service was a little slow for a Wednesday evening but it was outstanding on our first visit. Food was great both times! They have a great selection of appetizers and entrees. I was happy that the quality of the food was consistent. Small but decent wine selection. I would definately recommend a trip to this spot."
