Took a chance and came for Mother's Day. Thought it might be a buffet as there was nothing on your website other than the dinner menu. While not generally happy with buffets, I thought you did a great job at food prep which I generally don't like when food sits around. We were so happy with the buffet that we know we will come back for dinner. While our waitress was very friendly, she did leave us for long periods and, at meal's end, we finally had to ask another employee if we could get some coffee. I had a curried lamb kebob on a Mediterranean salad and my wife had the ribs with onion rings and raviolis with cheddar and some other stuffings that I can't remember. Both were specials and fantastic. They split a salad for us as they are so large they would spoil the appetite for the entrees. The service was wonderful, attentive without rushing us, letting us linger over drinks before and after the food. It certainly didn't hurt that as regulars there, we had a $50 rewards certificate (after $500 spent there, they return the favor with a $50 certificate).5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Very Good, often excellentThis is always the place I want to go to when we are planning to go out for dinner. My spouse doesn't like it quite as much since there still aren't many options for vegetarians. It is also a bit pricey, and we are trying to economize a bit, but there are several wonderful items on the "bar menu," so it is possible to have a wonderful meal for about the same price as a mediocre meal at one of the chain restaurants; you just have to order carefully. One of the items ordinarily on the menu, that I often order (pulled pork), was already sold out for the night even though we got there early. But that pushed me to get something new and I'm glad I did. The Chicken Piccata was simple and delightful! The frustration lay in the fact that we had been been given a Visa gift card to use. "Go out and have a nice dinner", said my Niece. But Romaine's would not accept the Visa gift card. I found that to be extremely odd and extremely frustrating. The card had never been used before and I asked the waitress for a pen to sign the card as I opened the packaging, so clearly the full amount was on the card! We had to be out by a specific time to attend to another engagement and our waitress and the kitchen accommodated us perfectly. Food was delicious! I had the salmon special with hash and it was so delicious that even my boyfriend loved it and he hates salmon. He got the shrimp fettuccini and the shrimp and fettuccini were cooked to perfection. Our only regret was we didn't save room for dessert because their Crème Brule is to die for. The best thing about Romaine's is consistency. The Food is always excellent as well as the Service, Ambiance and Noise Level. We will definitely be back again in the future. The food was creative, there was a great variety to choose from and the items had great flavor and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent. We have a small child and it was Easter. They were extremely accomodating and attentive. It's in a strip-mall, so we were quick to judge before we walked in the door. We were so wrong. It was a fabulous meal and we will certainly be back. Food was well prepared with good sized portions.
My only real negative comment is that the lighting was turned down way to low, I like a little "Mood Lighting" but this room was DARK.
