"We had dinner with another couple on Saturday night. it was our friends first time. Our friends raved about the food all night. Brad, our waiter, did a great job and Peter, the manager, keeps an eye out to make sure everyone has an outstanding experience. HIghly recommended!!"

"Favorites/ unforgettable- hamachi tataki, tuna tataki, hamachi and serrano roll, yuzu n miso marinated black cod, filet with chili ginger sauce, brussel sprouts with wafu dressing, green tea custard, coconut ice cream Forgettable/ not worth the money- wagyu beef dumpling, tiger prawn tempura, cold soba with soft shell shrimp. Service- excellent 3hour experience from beginning to end. Bus boys- always circling our table looking and asking if we are finished with our food so they can take away the dishes. Felt rushed at times. Quite annoying. Ambience- two thumbs way up. Romantic, classy, but Comfortable, and inviting Biggest disappointment- coffee. The worst ive ever had. Comparable to gas station coffee"

"This place was amazing. The sushi was incredible and I will for sure be back. The bartenders were great and we actually stayed and ate at bar because they were so good to talk to. Their recommendations were spot on and I wish I could have eaten more."

"lunch was excellent value-soup,salad, and an excellent butterfish roll was all included with my grilled miso-marinated cod(which was delicious) Wagyu kimchee pot stickers were also great. Great service, bus-boy a bit over eager,though."

"I took a friend to a nice birthday dinner,he loved the restaurant,scene and food despite the half hour wait with a reservation in place. This was not a good way to start our first time experience at Roka Akor!!"

"PROS: Have been to this restaurant many times and the sashimi is always first rate for Chicago area. That's the reason we return.
The beef and kimchee dumplings better than ever, the spicy tuna rolls good. The dynamite rolls were mediocre. Not as well put together and the flavor was off. The desert (not a very interesting list) was also good.
The service was very good and efficient.
CONS: We had a reservation but were still seated in the bar area. The waitress took us around to various tables in the main room but they were awful."
