A word from Rojo Mexican Grill - St. Louis Park
Rojo Mexican Grill serves new culinary creations and many traditional dishes, such as quesadillas, tacos and enchiladas, but with bold new flavors or in unique presentations. Ingredients, such as the tortillas, guacamole, and salsas, are made fresh from scratch each day. And Rojo uses special proprietary blends of Mexican spices to create the unique recipes.
The stylish restaurant seats more than 280 guests and was designed to evoke traditional Mexican décor, but with a modern influence. Warm woods and soft red upholstery are offset by accents of leather, stone and steel. The dining room offers traditional table service and a generous view of the kitchen where diners can watch food prepared throughout the process. Three centrally located tables are dedicated to preparing hand-rolled tortillas, fresh guacamole and salsa in full view each day.

Diner Reviews
  • "This was my 4th visit to Rojo, and every experience tends to be a little less positive than the previous. We got the fancy guac, which as far as I could tell was Holy Guacamole with a bunch of fruits, cheese, and nuts sprinkled on top which we then had to mix together. Bland and disappointing. We received a recommendation from the waiter to try the Tortilla Chicken, so my dining mate and I both ordered it. It came and was a pretty blah chicken breast, covered in extremely salty sauces that didn't really make sense together. Even the rice/corn, which is my favorite thing at this restaurant, wasn't as delicious as in previous visits. Overall this visit was tremendously underwhelming, and for $60 for lunch for two, it was totally not worth it."

  • "We enjoy the interesting food choices. Our favorites are the avocado egg rolls, tacos, and enchiladas with green sauce. So glad this is in our neighborhood."

  • "Really enjoyed my tacos carnitas at Rojo! The service was attentive, particularly when I noted that my dining companion and I were on a tight schedule."

  • "Perfect spot for a cosy lunch on a very cold day. Then an easy walk to the Icon theatre."

  • "I got the quesadilla off of the appetizer menu - it is definitely enough for one person... I had some leftovers to take home! The chips and salsa are really good here, the chips come out warm. Sitting by the windows in the winter is not the best idea, it was super chilly and almost to the point of uncomfortable. If I go again in the winter, I would sit in the dining area, not the bar."

  • "I have been to Rojo a few times, and I feel that the service has been mediocre. The waiter dropped drinks off and walked away before we could even say anything, not allowing us to order our food - we had to ask him if we could order. He seemed very distracted and not happy to be there. As I was going to Rojo this evening my husband asked if this was the place with bad service, and I couldn't recall, but afterwards I felt like it was safe to say he remembered it correctly. With all of the other choices in the WestEnd, I don't think I'll be back."

  • "RoJo has a good vibe and is a great place for meeting for a drink, dinner date, meeting a friend, or even the place to meet up and 'pre-game' the evening."

  • "We went on New Year's Eve. Tried to make a 5:00 reservation we were told they were full so we made a 4:30 reservation on line. They were not very busy when we arrived (maybe 25% full) and yet our server was slow to get our orders taken, served and the check to us when we were done. She seemed to be spending the majority of her time flirting with the waiters and other staff. When we left at 5:45 (we were there for over an hour because our sever was "busy") the restaurant was still only about 25% full. Still not sure why we couldn't get a 5:00 reservation. The food was at best fair. We will not be back."

  • "Very fun and relaxed place to enjoy appetizers and catch up with friends! We were there for 2 1/2 hours and ordered a bunch of different appetizers...but they always kept those chips coming :) Our waiter was attentive, but was not overbearing which was much appreciated. The margaritas are also fantastic!"

  • "Everything was great except for the urgency to clear our table. Anybody who is clearing a plate should make sure the customer is done. My husband had a few bites left and someone came by and just grabbed his plate without even asking if he was done."

  • "Good spot at WestEnd to grab a quick bite for lunch. Two coronas, some nachos and a carnita tacos-$40. If your guy is 250 lbs + make sure he knows the serving sizes are small, this isn't 6 pack and a pound place to pack it down."

  • "We really enjoy this interpretation of Mexican food. The avocado egg rolls are especially tasty and different. The sticky rice side dish is also very good. We are very happy to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. I don't usually like margarita's but I always order the Rojo version because it taste so good. We will definitely return."
