However, in the main dining area it is such a large space, with an open mezz above, so even with so much dark wood it feels open and airy. Sunday brunch is excellent, offering a wide range of foods. My son and I are carnevors so the carving stations and smoked salmon platters are our spot. My wife is an ova-vegatarian and she is always able to find an array of options beyond simply an omlette. Only draw back is that the service can be noticeably slow at times. This was particularly surprising at a recent buffet brunch, with service being only drinks and the check. Rod's was a hit with everyone! The service was some of the best I ever had. The attention to detail by our wait staff was exceptional. For example the wine service was excellent. There was never an empty glass. The wait staff was always there for us without being intrusive. Four of us had steaks which were tasty and prepared the way we requested with the other 2 in our party having the seafood which they raved about. The main dining room is beautifully appointed, however the train car brings you back in time.
