A word from Rococo Steak
We envisioned a steakhouse and lounge unlike any other. A revolutionary steakhouse, in both cuisine and design, which would challenge the strict traditions of American steakhouses. The result is Rococo Steak.

The menu has a larger selection of small steaks, including unique grass-fed options, more playful appetizers, and craveable side dishes. The hip, contemporary design conveys intimacy and sensuality, yet provides a spirited atmosphere for socializing.

Welcome to The Art of Steak!

We went on a weeknight for a birthday dinner. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with swanky chandeliers, cozy booths and nice artwork. We shared several items and ordered a bottle of wine. Everything was very good to excellent. The dessert was a little disappointing but overall I would recommend this place and certainly come back again. They have a nice patio area which would be fun when it is a little cooler outside. The service was also excellent.

Had a wonderful experience from the time we were greeted to dessert. We enjoy our bourbon and this is one of the few restaurants that has Pappy Van Winkle. A real treat. Josh was our server, very personable and fit in with our group. A great selection of appetizers, the goat cheese was awesome. The main course and sides were excellent. They put a nice light char on the steaks, just the way it should be, and still cooked to perfection. The sides were great, we had the corn and lobster mac and cheese. We were stuffed so decided against dessert but since we mentioned it was someone's birthday Josh brought a small serving of the peanut butter pie. A nice touch and delicious. We will definitely go back.

Rococo is visually rich and plush but presents bland and monotone visual appeal. The oysters were a disgrace considering price yet the hamburger was fabulous with its perfect bun to patty ratio and the outstanding tomato-bacon jam barbecue sauce.

Such a great restaurant with a fantastic decor to match! Grain and corn fed beef, unique side offerings, and exceptional service and attention to detail. We go there for special occasions opposed from just going to Capital Grill, Bern's, etc. because they excel at taking care of their guests without the 'turn and burn' of other places. We recently went to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of our engagement before our wedding in a cole of months. We were treated fantastic from the moment we saw the hostess staff until we walked out the door. Our table waserfe t with rose eagles and a card signed by the staff (nice touch). Joshua did a fantastic job and it was a perfect evening! Well recommended by a foodie!

The dining room ambience is fabulous for a special occasion meal. Having said that, the meal was just ok for the prices. I really had higher expectations. My husband had the New York strip and I had the Prime Rib which was way over-seasoned. The wait staff was overly attentive to the point of hovering. With the other options available in the downtown area of St Pete, Rococo moves to the middle of my list.

We enjoyed our 25th anniversary celebration at Rococo and will be back. One suggestion- being a nutritarian among us- please have a salad that doesn't have cheese or bacon on it. One with nuts, seeds or fruit and a light dressing would be lovely .

I took my loved ones out for a birthday dinner and we were seated upstairs in a small dining room. Our meal was wonderful and service was on par with some of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. A complimentary birthday dessert and being recognized by the manager made for a very enjoyable experience.

The ambiance including the outside lanai is outstanding. Both the bar and dining areas are very attractive and not so noisy as to not hear your neighbor at the table. While the apps and entrees where well executed and were all fresh and of high quality, most menu items seemed a bit pricey for the quantity. The tartare app is a mere 1 tbsp of tuna and 1 tbsp of salmon. We were told this should serve 4. Three of us at the table ordered the grass-fed ribeye. The servings seemed to be of inconsistent sizes. Nonetheless, the steak was cooked correctly and to the requested temperature. Again, a bit pricey for the quantity. Service was, however, spotty, especially after a neighboring table filled. Our foodie expectations were not quite met.

We had a fabulous experience on our first visit and brought friends a few weeks later for another fabulous dinner about six months ago. Serious decline in food quality and service this weekend, for the price. Won't be back again. Food not hot and not top quality that we expected. Server was trying TOO had and interfered with our dinning experience.

Those who had the grass-fed fillet said it was wonderful. I don't eat meat or fish but was able to put together a salad to begin with plus the red & black quinoa, grilled asparagus and broccolini, all of which were wonderful together. It was actually enough food to take home a doggie bag.

Rococo has a nice ambience but my prime rib, ordered medium, came rare. It was tough and fatty. The waiter, though attentive, was a bit overbearing and talked too much. The best part was the burger, but for $18 should at least have fries or a side included. The duck salad was good, but very small (Charlie Trotter style) and not worth the money. I think you need to rethink your prices to cater to price-conscious St.Pete and this out-of-the-way location. Also, it was hard to taste the truffle oil on the truffle fries, and honestly, the fries at Derby Lane are more crisp and delicious. I asked the name of the chef and not one person knew his name, not even the manager.

I had the black and blue halibut and it was cooked perfectly. The blue cheese butter went very well with the cajun spices. We ordered two sides and had plenty to take home. Be prepared, servings are large and you will have plenty of leftovers. We tried the jello shots and they were a very unique dessert. It was a nice finish to a wonderful dinner experience.

The restaurant is a beauty - inside and out. Rich hues, romantic ambience, classy all the way around. The service is terrific, the drinks are delicious and unique. In terms of the food, we weren't impressed. It's a pricey restaurant, which we expected, however, absolutely everything is a la carte. We ordered the salmon which while fresh, had virtually no flavor other than the fish. It was bland and we had to request salt (which we usually never do). I ordered the ribeye. It was totally charred on every surface, making it difficult to taste the steak in light of the prominent burnt/bitter taste. The Mac n cheese described by server as amazing, was greasy and salty, and fries over cooked. Don't think we'll be heading back.

Great promise based on reviews, but so many items were not quite right. Salad was soggy and salty; halibut was over cooked; and the desserts were positively leaden. Some of the side dishes were very good and the service was attentive. The offer was made to take dessert off the bill. Such a pretty venue; I hope the kitchen steps up its game. And perhaps one should always choose steak!

This time we requested a quit table and were placed in the bar area. After giving it a chance, I suggested to the staff this would not work and we were placed in an upstairs dining room. This room was loud as well, but better than the bar. Service was a bit muddled and we were confused as to who was actually waiting on us. Shrimp and oyster starters were great. Wine selection was great, but it took ten minutes to get the cork out of our choice. Wine turned out to be fine. Main course was a ribeye that was average and the Angry Lobster was a waste of money, really thought we were getting a small tail. Not sure what it was. There seemed to be a large number of big parties so maybe we were caught up in the noise, no pun intended.

Dinner was excellent other than the music was a little loud and not entirely suitable for a romantic dinner. We had to ask the waiter to lower the volume a little. We found out this location was formerly a YMCA. Wow! The building has been beautifully transformed - very spacious and tastefully appointed. Everything we ordered (wine, tuna and salmon tartar, grass fed filets, asparagus, mac n' cheese, and salted caramel bread pudding) was incredible! We enjoyed a truly slow dining experience, never felt rushed, and service was on point. We will certainly return when in St. Pete.

Staff and service were great. Grass-fed steaks were undercooked to what we ordered but still very good. A friend had mentioned he had heard the steaks were heavily seasoned (mostly fancy salt) and he was right. So if you don't like your steak seasoned make sure you mention when ordering. Not impressed by the mac & cheese side but salads and other veggies were good. Great glass of chianti to go with dinner. We sat near the bar area which was definitely a nice retreat and gave us a view of the restaurant without being in the middle of things. We passed on the dessert menu but was curious to see what they had since it wasn't posted online. Overall would probably try again.

Had dinner here Saturday night for the first time. The meal was excellent as was the service. Only two small negatives, which will not stop me from returning. Delivery of entrees were just slightly slow...we were just beginning to feel like we had been waiting a long time when they came out. Food was hot, so it seems like the kitchen was a little slow and not a delay with delivery to the table. The bacon flight appetizer is awesome as is the bread. We were in a small extension by the windows of the dining room and it was loud, partially due to a party of six celebrating a birthday seated next to us and partially due to the nature of the space. I look forward to going later in the year to enjoy their outdoor dining space.

If you're looking for service where they toss your plates on the table, argue with you about your meal selections and waiters who ignore you while smoking their ecigarettes by the stairway, this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I were out for drinks for my birthday with no dinner plans. Made a reservation, no problem, and were seated at a really nice corner booth. We ordered drinks, and loved them both. Ordered the bacon flight for an app - you MUST order this if you are a bacon lover. Absolutely amazing. He got the prime rib and I got the grass-fed filet. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, seasoned well and my filet had a really nice crust on it while still being juicy inside. I love the option to order grass-fed vs. corn-fed and it was only $2 more. Only complaint was the mac and cheese- good but way under-salted/seasoned. It's a bit pricey, as expected from a really nice steakhouse. Great food, excellent service, we will be going back.

However, the service was excellent and the staff made all the appropriate apologies, including glasses of wine on them. My wife was celebrating her birthday last weekend. She had seen Rococo while driving near Tropicana Field. Parked our car with the valet - very quick and courteous. Arrived, they quickly located our reservation and we were seated in the upstairs dining room. Took the elevator, which had moving cloths on the walls, to second floor. They have an extensive wine list, but none of us drink wine. Beer selection was moderate. Served cold with a glass. Their steak selection was awesome with both grain fed and corn fed beef. Well prepared steaks. However, everything is ala carte. We ordered mashed potatoes and another side that were great to share. The big downside was the bill at the end, over $330! A very large amount for good steaks.

Took my wife for her birthday, and were totally blown away by everything from the food to the decor to the attentive staff. Our waiter made us feel right at home, and let us leisurely peruse your fantastic menu without feeling rushed at all. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable. We felt like we were in a friend's house for dinner. The staff and the chefs went the extra mile to make my wife's birthday special! They put a candle in her dessert, and then took the extra effort to write in script "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on her dessert plate. That was the nicest touch I've seen from any restaurant.
