A word from Rococo Steak
We envisioned a steakhouse and lounge unlike any other. A revolutionary steakhouse, in both cuisine and design, which would challenge the strict traditions of American steakhouses. The result is Rococo Steak.

The menu has a larger selection of small steaks, including unique grass-fed options, more playful appetizers, and craveable side dishes. The hip, contemporary design conveys intimacy and sensuality, yet provides a spirited atmosphere for socializing.

Diner Reviews
  • "Eat at the bar. The servers are friendly and real pros. The food is outstanding. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "I wanted to take my wife to a good place for dinner. I thought about Rococo because I had seen it and was aware it was a new steak house in town. I made a reservation and our table was ready when we got there. The service personnel were extremely friendly and they knew the menu and could easily recommend with enthusiasm. We followed several of the suggestions. The meal was exceptional! Both my wife and I enjoyed. She had a Filet Mignon and I had Ahi. Both done to perfection. The side dishes were alittle overwhelming and we could have shared one of them easily. Needless to say, we had a great experience. We took some boxes home as the sides could have been shared as opposed to ordered separately. They were huge! We had leftovers the next day"

  • "Service started out great but declined as the dining experience went on. The chicken lolly pops tasted like a hush puppy. too much filling. (not want we thought 1st time) Entrees came with out our orderd sides. Came after dinner. Steaks were excellent."

  • "Dining at Rococo is like a breath of fresh air amid the noisy bar dominated restaurants of today. It's quiet, elegant, intimate dining room sets the stage for a wonderful dining experience. Our steaks and side choices were delicious, perfectly prepared. The service was top notch. The wine by the glass choices were quite nice.We look forward to dining on the large outdoor patio and stopping by for a drink at the bar to experience Rococo full circle."

  • "The downtown area of St. Petersburg has seen a revitalization of both businesses and eating establishments for the past couple of years. A wonderful steak restaurant has been missing from the mix. Rococo is a welcome addition to an already fantastic food scene. The ambience, the food, the waitstaff, and the overall atmosphere is five stars."

  • "This is my new favorite steakhouse. We had wonderful, friendly service and the food was outstanding. They also have a great wine selection. I would highly recommend it to anyone!"

  • "My guest and I were able to split the porterhouse steak, salad, and a couple of sides, and still went home with leftovers. Service was good and they have a huge wine list. I will return."

  • "Rococo was hands down one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. We started with the seafood tower appetizer. It was incredible, then finished with grass fed filet mignon's which were cooked to perfection. The wine choices are the best there is as well. The service was also incredible and as we were waited on hand and foot. Talking about the WOW experience? This was it!!!"

  • "We were truly disappointed with the dining experience. Both the steak and salmon tasted like they had been frozen and had little or no flavor. Even the salad was lacking flavor. The service is outstanding, but does not make up for the food. An expensive evening with little reward."

  • "The food was delicious, as expected. The real and delightful surprise of the evening was the superior service we received. Contrary to the stories we had heard, the staff was extremely knowledable, friendly, and attentive, without being intrusive and/or distracting. It's a shame they're losing our server to Holiwood. However, you certainly can't blame someone (our server) for wanting to follow their dreams. We wished her the best and promised to visit once again before she departed and we have to see her on the silver screen."

  • "We went for a special occasion on a Saturday night. We were seated upstairs- away from the noise & hustle of downstairs and the bar. Some other diners were complaining about being seated upstairs but I very much preferred it. It was much more intimate and the staff was incredibly attentive and personable. I had the rib-eye and my girlfriend had the filet. I like my steaks rare and I always order them that way. Most steakhouses and restaurants deliver an overcooked steak- not Rococo. It was perfect. We will be back!"

  • "to the St Petersburg dining scene. The food was lovely; carpaccio appetizer delicious, caviar good but the blini could have been thinner and less pancake-like; baby beets cooked perfectly, and loved the watermelon radish; entrees of ahi and filet mignon melt in your mouth tender. The sides are large, definitely for sharing. Mushrooms fine, asparagus good but too much of both to finish. The atmosphere is lively and the wait staff very accommodating, though it did take a bit for the hostess to realize we had requested a booth, and the name they insisted was on the reservation was mine. Still early days, a few kinks, but all in all a wonderful addition to the St Petersburg dining scene. We'll return for more."

  • "We sat outside and was amazed at how quiet 2nd avenue is after dark. I felt like I was dining in a remote outdoor location. The steaks my guest and I enjoyed were both fantastic! We ordered a salad to share and two sides and I ended up taking most of it home. I can't wait to enjoy the rest of my meal tomorrow! I read a lot of other comments about this restaurant and for my money it was a good deal and a perfectly quiet night out."

  • "My third time dining here and another enjoyable experience. We were seated by the bar in a small quiet section that was perfect for catching up with a dear friend. The manager stopped by and introduced himself and offered a wonderful wine that we both enjoyed. Service was excellent and the food has been consistently amazing!"

  • "To start I would not recommend or return. The quality of food in this restaurant is at best mediocre. Our steaks were really good but not great. The bread - flown in from Paris was good too! The salmon was ok; burger grossly under-cooked even though our non foodie friends did not mention to the server when asked. The Bert salad was tasteless. Overall not a value by any means"

  • "This was our 4th or 5th time there and as usual it did not disappoint! The food was amazing (I had the bone-in Ribeye with Mac&Cheese; my wife had the grass fed filet and the purple potatoes; we both had the foie gras and it was excellent) and service was wonderful as always! Our server Sarah went out of her way to make us feel welcome, as did everyone we encountered. We will, of course, be back."

  • "Rococo has a solid handle on food and customer service. Their quality is superior and backed by an appropriate price point suitable for a variety of budgets. I thoroughly recommended this restaurant to anyone in the mood for a wonderful steak and tasty side items."

  • "The meal was outstanding. We had the porterhouse for two. It was done to perfection. For appetizers, we had the caviar and foie gras, both excellent. The side dishes were both fine as well, the mac & cheese was great. The portion size was way more than enough. They were the best leftovers we had in a long time. Our server (Molly) did a great job and was very helpful with any questions we had about the items on the menu and also with the wines as well."

  • "Rococo is confused. The prices for dinner suggest upscale, quiet, posh and elegant. The dark wood and romantic booths up against the walls are beautiful and upon first glance bring promise to a quiet dining experience. However, the table that we were seated at was a mere two inches from the main entrance of the front door and a whisper away from the host stand. When Im paying $50 per plate without any alcohol, I expect a bit more ambiance and quiet. Not only was the bar loud and a stones throw away, the dining room was piping in music that featured everything from the Rolling Stones to lady gaga. The food was good not great, I don't believe my steak was dry aged and it was a bit over cooked. Service was excellent and friendly."

  • "This place was recommended by a few friends and admittedly I am a steakhouse connoisseur. The dry aged New York Strip I had last night rivals the ones I've had in the best steakhouses in the country (Delmonico, Manny's, Maestro's, Peter Luger's). I am fortunate enough to travel all over the US for my business and I now have a place to take friends and business associates in my own city. Also, the wine list is by far the biggest surprise. I felt like I was in Las Vegas or New York!"

  • "First time at this lovely restaurant that the server said was an old YWCA. Our food was excellent and service was informative but not overly intrusive. My wife and I shared a few sides and our steaks were cooked perfectly. We will be back."

  • "Rococo Steak House is obviously known for it's delicious beef. I went in a different direction with my dining option. I chose the Black & Blue Swordfish. It arrived moist & fresh sitting atop a bed of caramelized onions. The play between the sweetness of the onions & the saltiness of the blue cheese was wonderful. I highly recommend Rococo Steak for a great night out!"

  • "It was the perfect place to celebratemy husband's birthday! His steak was perfect, and my swordfish with blu cheese butter was decious! Don't miss the pot de creme brule for desert."

  • "I have been in many many steakhouses, both independent as well as the chains (Morton's, Ruth's Chris, etc) and this is the very first time a menu offered a choice between grass fed and corn fed filet mignon as well as a bone in filet mignon. I chose the grass fed and it was superb but then it should be for $40.00 with only a small purple potato puff to accompany it. My husbands duck breast was equally good but it too stood alone. The ala carte creamed corn was excellent and was more than enough for two people but it too rang in at $9.00. Oh, I almost forgot - a very small side of sauteed onions, a great accompaniment to my steak, cost $2.50."

  • "We were looking forward to trying Rococo for the first time and had a mixed experience. We did not find the valet parking, which is past the restaurant if you approach on 2nd Avenue South. The restaurant itself is visually very appealing. As to food, our entrees (filet mignon and veal loin) were excellent; our desserts (bread pudding and daily cobbler) less so. We actually wanted fresh berries and did not realize that what the waiter was describing was a berry cobbler. Service is attentive but inexperienced. Wine pours are very short. So, we will probably go again but won't rush back."

  • "When you dine at a place that touts themselves as "A revolutionary steakhouse, in both cuisine and design" they better bring their BEST every evening: and Rococo has NOT done that. 5 visits later; we really wanted to give this place a chance, and it has fallen short 3 out of the 5 visits. They are NOT revolutionary in design or food. You can get decadent designs and fab food at a few very notable, and consistently 4 star local Steakhouses. Large side portions are mere distractions from the consistently flavorless fare. The Servers are attentive and friendly. The outdoor dining is very enjoyable, but neither can take away the sting of the pricey bill for the mediocre meal. Come on Rococo! Pull it together."

  • "My wife and I went there for our anniversary and we loved it. The food was delicious and our waiter was very knowledgeable on everything from the food to the wine list. All the staff working there were very friendly as well. One of the best steaks we both have had in sometime. The atmosphere was great as well. We will definitely we going back."

  • "Had the 7oz filet and it was cooked perfectly; service was very good and the wine was excellent. All and all a very pleasant experience and not at all in the vein of some of the negative reviews that I had previously read. A definite asset to the community of St. Pete!!!"

  • "Great atmosphere. Historic building. Huge. Food was just OK. I expect a lot more from a $30 steak. Service was poor. Asked waiter for salt. He seemed insulted, said "he'd try to find some and disappeared for 15 minutes. Thing is they have salt. Got a nice sampling with my entree. Didn't appreciate the syereotypical snotty high end waiter act, especially when only the prices were high end. Go to Bern's instead."

  • "Very Expensive, ala carte. Don't know why it was voted the best steak house in Tampa Bay. There are others much better. Didn't like the purple mushy potatos. Not good choice of side dishes, very limited. Won't be going back."

  • "Rococo is a pricey steakhouse. The ambiance is charming. Our server, Molly, did not rush us and was very nice and helpful. The wine I chose was one of the best I ever had. I wish I could remember the name. My dining companions and I are very sensitive to loud noises and this place was just right. It was not too loud but not stuffy. I ordered a ribeye. The taste of the steak was superior and it was cooked perfectly. The sides of asparagus and broccoli rabe were fresh and cooked perfectly al dente. The only complaint I have is that the steak was not especially tender."

  • "The arrival , the staff, the service and the food was impeccable!. My husband said it was the best steak he had ever had. It was definitely a memorable evening and we will be back!"

  • "The group of us ordered several lobster dishes and all were extremely FISHY!!! We also ordered a beet salad tasted like dirt and seemed not cooked enough! The restaurant looked amazing but the food and service was terrible. We will def not be returning!"

  • "After reading many fantastic reviews, our hopes were high, and the restaurant delivered. Bread and butter were unbelievably good and we couldn't stop eating them. Luckily we saved room for the steaks - one corn and one grass fed filet mignon (very surprised and excited to see a restaurant offer both). One rare, one medium, both cooked perfectly. Service was first class and by far the best in St Pete. Loved the hip music. Will undoubtedly return."

  • "Maybe they raised the bar by saying that it's the Bern's of St Pete. Service was amazing and so was the place but the food was average. We hand bacon flight as an appetizer, it was delicious. But my steak was veeeery dry. For the money I'd probably choose a different place next time. Staff was amazing though."

  • "This was my 3rd time at this restaurant. The first 2 times I had the steak (ribeye) and it was delicious. This time I had oysters (very good) and the ahi tuna, very bland. (The over salty soy sauce on the side didn't help). The one pet peeve I had with my experience this time was the lousy "short" cocktails. We each ordered a martini. It came in a medium martini glass, only half full (with the olives). I asked the server to please ask the bartender to make a proper drink. We were charged for 1 and 1/2 drinks each for the second drink. I guess I'll stick with wine next time."
