Diner Reviews
  • "My family and I made reservations for Easter brunch and were at first put in a large conference room with a DJ playing loud obnoxious music more suited to a 70's reunion. When I voiced my extreme dislike for both the room and the music, we were seated in the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!"

  • "I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my experience. I made my reservation through Open Table, which was seamless! This place is a little known secret for holiday brunch. And the price was incredible for the selection of food, ambiance and overall service! I have a permanent brunch choice for Easter and plan to come back for Mother's Day!"

  • "They know how to do brunch very well. Selection, freshness and variety all excellent."

  • "Rocky River Grille's Easter Brunch was phenomenol! We have never witnessed such an amazing assortment of foods that would meet everyone's tastes!"

  • "The food this time had too much of a Southern flair and therefore wasn't as good as other times we had been there. Think the chefs have to remember that guests come from all part of the country and some consider the Southern dishes to be a tad unhealthy. While the service was good, the meal itself was a disappointment this time, and for holidays, we won't be coming back but find other restaurants with a better, ore overall menu. However, on a positive note, it was nice to see something festive at each table. "

  • "We enjoyed 2013 mother's day brunch much more than 2014 Easter brunch. Easter brunch did not have enough variety of foods. Not too many kid-friendly foods. The chicken strips were hard. The sweet potatoes had way too much hot sauce-several folks around us said the same thing. The shrimp was not as cold as it should have been. The salad dressings (ranch in particular) was sitting in the sun. The pastries were dry. So needless to say, we will not be back for Easter brunch. However their Ham and desserts were good as was the made to order waffles. I have also been to this restaurant for dinner several times, it is hit or miss. Sometimes their food is good, sometimes it is not. "

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants. This time I had their new Carolina Shrimp & Grits and it was fantastic. My wife had the Grouper and said that it was cooked perfectly served with a slightly spicy succotash that was very tasty. The Rocky River Grille is in the Embassy Suites Hotel and periodically subject to convention attendees. This time it was a rather noisy group from the Mustang owners convention which over powered the wait staff, slowing service and driving away the normally romantic atmosphere. Still a great place to eat."

  • "I thought RRG would be a great choice for dinner based on the menu published online - I was terribly mistaken. The published menu was inaccurate and the entire meal was a disaster thanks to poor seating, food preparation, and an unpleasant server. As a party of four adults, we were seated at a VERY small table. The two appetizers we chose left us no room to eat comfortably. We all had empty glasses between appetizer and salad. Our salads came and we had to remove the appetizer plates ourselves. Everyone took maybe two bites of their salad when the entrees arrived. I said "oh that's poor timing" for the server's response to be "blame the kitchen, not me. Do you want me to put your plates back in the window?" REALLY?!! No, no we do not."

  • "The menu is not what is on Open Table- the actual menu has 1/2 the items listed on the open table ap. The people were super friendly, but they took forever to bring drinks, bread, food, etc. The salads were almost tasteless. I got a steak, it was cooked perfect, but had very little flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless it goes under new management and they improve in almost all areas."

  • "Food was good for hotel style. Service was good. My wife and I each had the filet mignon and neither was free of gristle. All in all, it's a nice restaurant with a limited menu but one that will serve the purpose when in the area."

  • "Meal quality exceeded offerings of most hotel restaurants. Had a generous, well-prepared grouper dinner. Waitress was exceptional - very pleasant and efficient. Although the address is Concord, it is very convenient to the University district of Charlotte."

  • "Located inside the embassy Suites so welcoming to all guests. SeemEd to handle groups and individual diners very well...food was well prepared, fries are hand cut and delicious. Can eat casually or more substantially all in the same nicely appointed restaurant."

  • "This restaurant is attached to a hotel, and the service was terrible. When I went there it was 11 am, and no one was there. We had to wait for their setting up. The food was ok, nothing special. I won't go there anymore and i don't recommend it."

  • "The menu was small with not a lot of selection. Not what I expected to when associated with Embassy Suites. Open table menu is not the same as actual menu. Portions are enough for 2 or 3 people. (the meat portion anyway). Was looking forward to prime rib but not on actual menu. Menu leaves a lot to be desired. If you do not like variety perfect place for you. will not return."

  • "Service was very good. Waitress must have had a photographic memory. Food was good but not out of this world. Soup and salad somehow made it out before the appetizer. Main courses were all sized about right."

  • "Generally, we go to Rocky River Grille for special occasions, as it is one of the nicer restaurants in our area outside of the city. The waitstaff is usually professional and the food is good to excellent. This time, however, the busboy hovered around our table and repeatedly asked my husband if he was done with his plate (he clearly was not) and tried to remove unfinished appetizer dishes. The menu choices were limited, the food was mediocre (don't try the meatloaf), and the server forgot one of our salads. Disappointing."

  • "Menu very limited. Menu on websight very misleading..if I return will call ahead and ask about menu items"

  • "It was an OK experience. Service was slow, but not the fault of the server. It took a long time to get food after ordering. We had 3 different servers. All three were nice."

  • "This place had wonderful food. Some of the best I've had out, in a long time! The server was pretty unimpressive, but she "did her job" and the order was correct, so no real complaints there. I just can't get over the food. Beat out the prime rib I had in Texas the week before and the salad was perfect too!"

  • "We chose this restaurant because we were doing a spa package at the same hotel. They had a special Valentine's Day menu that was very sophisticated - Whisky soaked prime rib, Salmon with honey mustard sauce, Arugula Salad with pears, glazed pecans, goat cheese, yummy dessert. Loved the pepper jelly that came with the rolls. The waitress was great. It would have better atmosphere/ambiance if it were not so open and exposed to the noise of the bar and the traffic of hotel guests."

  • "not impressed. had heard from a couple of people it was a decent place for a "date night". we didn't find it to be anything special. seating was like a typical food court of fast food joint. Service was avg. as was food. Probably wont' revisit. Very typically a hotel setting."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We are locals but come to this hotel restaurant often. They outdid themselves with the Valentine's Day menu! I hope they will keep the Vegetable Wellington on the regular menu after this, it was superb. I am very particular about pesto sauce and this was the best!"

  • "my second time dinig there and the worst experience. Service was terrible. we went for the valentines special. 30 dollars a person and not worth it at all. the food was good and the prime rib very good . very very slow service and emplyees running around like they had no organization at all . my water glass stayed empty practically the entire time i was there, and my server would walk by and look at the empty glass and never say or do anything about it until the end of my meal. ask for A1 sauce and didnt get it till i was at the last bite of my steak and the manager brought it did not seem apologetic at all. it was just an overall bad experience for my wife and i on valentines day"

  • "I arrived 15 minutes prior to a lunch (noon) reservation. They were scheduled to open at 11am, yet the place was empty and dark. Not a soul in site. Didn't eat here, we left and ate near Concord Mills instead."

  • "I have had Easter and Christmas brunch here and it was beyond fabulous. However lunch at the spa and more recently restaurant week were disappointing. I had the wild mushroom ravioli it was barely warm not very favorable. The salad was good though. My friend had the prime rib which was half fat. Dessert was nice in theory but was basically stale. Maybe it was because it was the last day of resturant week. I don't know.. I expected so much more based on the fabulous brunches that I have had here. I think I'll stick to brunch in the future"

  • "I live in Charlotte, so rarely make it up to Concord, but I had a group meeting so I chose this for Restaurant Week as our location. Very glad I did. Very generous portions. Great ambiance and decor with the rocks and reds. For an appetizer, I ordered their Prospector Salad which had apple, walnuts, & cranberries. The yogurt dressing was almost a big too much, so I would ask for it on the side vs drizzled over. The 3 bone pork was juicy and flavorful. It was accompanied with mashed sweet potatoes and carrots which were the perfect compliment. Their lemon tart was the perfect end with a very crisp crust and sweet tart filling. If I ever find myself in Concord again, I would highly recommend this place. Plus, great value for Restaurant Week!"
