Delmonico steaks were great as always. We always set in the bar area to watch one of the big screen TVs. The bartenders and waitresses are very good and fast. They also have a great prime rib steak dinner on Fridays & Sat. We have ate here at least once a month for the last couple of years. If we are looking for upscale meal in Concord, this is the place to go. Enjoy!!!!!! Jack in Concord

After enjoying a great steak at a conference at the Embassy Suites (made by Rocky River Grille), we were very disappointed with the service and food when we visited the actual restaurant. Our server acted completed disinterested and the food was mediocre. Items asked for like lemons for tea, etc was never provided. We won't be back as there are many other places in Charlotte/Concord to spend our money on fine dining.

My wife and I had wonderful meals at the Rocky River Grill. It started off with the best cornmeal I have eaten in years. My steak was cooked perfectly and my loved her meal as well. The local NC foods were an appreciated touch. Sorry Mama, you never cooked as good as these guys!

We did not enjoy the atmosphere of what we thought was a more up-scale restaurant for the area. The food photos for advertising draw you in, but the atmosphere of the venue is more like a casual bar restaurant see.

Food and atmosphere was good, however, they did not have the bottle of wine we ordered (although the bartender did make sure we were not disappointed). Nor did they have the dessert we ordered, which was a little disappointing. Overall the experience was good and we will go back. P.S. They should add a house salad to their options for salads (the apple slices were bitter).

What a delightful first time experience! I live 5 minutes away and thought I would give it a try with my mom for restaurant week. So glad we did. The raspberry yogurt dressing was delicious as was the cheese crisp on the Caesar salad. The food was cooked to perfection (prime rib and salmon) and the plating was stunning! The orchid was such a lovely touch. I had the cheese sauce on the side since I prefer horseradish with my prime rib. The meat was so tender and well seasoned it didn't need any sauce. Best cornbread I've ever had. It was good enough to be dessert! The desserts were fantastic as well (scrumptious key lime/strawberry tart & luscious pecan pie).

I took my wife here for her birthday expecting an amazing experience. The service was very slow I rarely had any drink in my glass. The soup of the day wasn't even available because they had burned it. The prime rib I ordered was like cutting rubber and the pimento cheese sauce needs to be removed from that steak, it ruins the flavor of the meat. Best part was the mashed potatoes and desert. Overall a nice place just needs work on a few things. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

We went to Rocky River because of the posted menu. We were visiting out of town and the menu looked amazing. We were first greeted with a we are not open yet when we arrived at 455 for our 5 o'clock reservations. Ok fine we will wait no big deal. The service was slow and the server was not knowledgeable of the menu and what the descriptions meant. The service continued to be poor. The food was subpar at best. Overall this restaurant failed to wow us for the service and food where not to the level we would except for the price. We will not be returning to rocky river grille.

Dined here last year while in Concord. We were impressed so we decided to go again this year. Food was very good but it seemed to have lost something - maybe it was just me. However it used to have a huge wine list that has been chopped to about a quarter of the size it was last year. That was a little disappointing.

The menu was all new, but the food and presentation were disappointing. Two of our party got the chicken and waffle dinner. Chicken was WAY overcooked and skin was burned. Waffle was good. Waitress was pretty good. She did bring out a dessert for a person with a special occasion in our party. We have been there numerous times in the past and have been pleased with the food, etc.

My wife and I are regulars for all special occasion brunches held at Rocky River Grille and we don't consider going anywhere else for holiday enjoyment. We are recognized by many of the staff who will come over and say "Hi!" or "Great to see you again!". The variety of items work for anyone and you can be adventurous and try new items that you only read about or see on TV cooking programs or traditional fare from you family holiday traditions. They also have a great children's buffet at each event, catering to young diners as well. Worth every penny and then some!

My family and I made reservations for Easter brunch and were at first put in a large conference room with a DJ playing loud obnoxious music more suited to a 70's reunion. When I voiced my extreme dislike for both the room and the music, we were seated in the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!

  • Bit of disappointment this time
    NCIndependent
    Dined on 4/20/2014
The food this time had too much of a Southern flair and therefore wasn't as good as other times we had been there. Think the chefs have to remember that guests come from all part of the country and some consider the Southern dishes to be a tad unhealthy. While the service was good, the meal itself was a disappointment this time, and for holidays, we won't be coming back but find other restaurants with a better, ore overall menu. However, on a positive note, it was nice to see something festive at each table.

We enjoyed 2013 mother's day brunch much more than 2014 Easter brunch. Easter brunch did not have enough variety of foods. Not too many kid-friendly foods. The chicken strips were hard. The sweet potatoes had way too much hot sauce-several folks around us said the same thing. The shrimp was not as cold as it should have been. The salad dressings (ranch in particular) was sitting in the sun. The pastries were dry. So needless to say, we will not be back for Easter brunch. However their Ham and desserts were good as was the made to order waffles. I have also been to this restaurant for dinner several times, it is hit or miss. Sometimes their food is good, sometimes it is not.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. This time I had their new Carolina Shrimp & Grits and it was fantastic. My wife had the Grouper and said that it was cooked perfectly served with a slightly spicy succotash that was very tasty. The Rocky River Grille is in the Embassy Suites Hotel and periodically subject to convention attendees. This time it was a rather noisy group from the Mustang owners convention which over powered the wait staff, slowing service and driving away the normally romantic atmosphere. Still a great place to eat.

The menu is not what is on Open Table- the actual menu has 1/2 the items listed on the open table ap. The people were super friendly, but they took forever to bring drinks, bread, food, etc. The salads were almost tasteless. I got a steak, it was cooked perfect, but had very little flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless it goes under new management and they improve in almost all areas.

I thought RRG would be a great choice for dinner based on the menu published online - I was terribly mistaken. The published menu was inaccurate and the entire meal was a disaster thanks to poor seating, food preparation, and an unpleasant server. As a party of four adults, we were seated at a VERY small table. The two appetizers we chose left us no room to eat comfortably. We all had empty glasses between appetizer and salad. Our salads came and we had to remove the appetizer plates ourselves. Everyone took maybe two bites of their salad when the entrees arrived. I said "oh that's poor timing" for the server's response to be "blame the kitchen, not me. Do you want me to put your plates back in the window?" REALLY?!! No, no we do not.

The menu was small with not a lot of selection. Not what I expected to when associated with Embassy Suites. Open table menu is not the same as actual menu. Portions are enough for 2 or 3 people. (the meat portion anyway). Was looking forward to prime rib but not on actual menu. Menu leaves a lot to be desired. If you do not like variety perfect place for you. will not return.
