Angela took very good care of us from beginning to end! Her timing with every course was perfect. Each course was better than the one prior. Starting with a fresh and tasty salad, then on to our wonderfully appointed, cooked to perfection entrees and ending with a delightful dessert in a mason jar. Rockwood Tap House is a bit off the beaten path being it's located on Finley instead of Butterfield, but it will never disappoint, guaranteed :-)

Rockwood has a great menu with a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. I highly recommend the cedar plank salmon, which is my favorite item on the menu. Atmosphere is comfortable but vibrant on weekends. Great bar for watching sports, too. TVs also are visile within dining rooms. Service is always good--and consistently so. We let waiter know ahead of time that we had three groups at the table and would need separate checks. He was fine with it and very attentive to us all night long. Very accommodating staff. My original table size of 8 doubled and then decreased slightly, but the staff did not make an issue of it and simply rearranged the table.

Driven by this place hundreds of times but never even thought about going in. Thought it was more of a bar\night club that been in this location before. Decided to give it a try one Friday night as we were looking for a restaurant that had prime rib and salmon and had a 7:00pm reservation time. We were shocked from the moment we walked in the door. The decor was very nice, the resturant was huge Food was excellent! The prime rib, salmon and bbq ribs are all highly recommend. Even desset was great and large enough to share. Prices were good too. We will be going back! I think we may become regulars if the next trip is as good as our first.

The decor is upscale, warm and inviting with a really great bar area. They do it all right.... and the Blackened Tuna sandwich can not be beat!

Food was great. Burgers were great. Service lacked. My pet peeve is when a waitress barely comes by (it was not crowded) and BRINGS THE CHECK without even asking if you want coffee, dessert. In her defense she did not charge us for the coffee, and never rushed us, but not a good remembrance. I will come back again as the food was cery good and a large menu.

We were seated right away-always appreciated. Our server was attentive, yet not intrusive. The reason for the fair service rating is because we specifically ordered 2 appetizers to start and 2 other appetizers as a main course, a point we made clear to our server. Obviously all 4 dishes, then, should not show up at the same time...but that's exactly what happened. Our wedge and soup arrived, (both were good) and within minutes came the others. We asked him to take them back since they would have gotten cold. I never send food back, but this time it was necessary. Too bad, because they probably were put under a warmer, which might explain the dryness of the eggrolls when they came back. We've always enjoyed RTH; just disappointed this time.

Now up to 30 or so visits. Never disappointed. This was our first time on the outdoor patio. Very enjoyable. A little noise from I-88 (maybe a sound system with some traffic-cancelling background music would help: hint, hint Mr. Owner). Regardless, Rockwood is a great place. Whether it's dinner with the wives, or a Bears or Hawks game with the guys, Rockwood ROCKS!

Normally the food is pretty good and the service has been great. This last time however I was somewhat disappointed. We were seated in the back room in the corner at a table for 6 although there were just 3 of us. There was a vent blowing cold air directly at the table. Our server moved us to the main dining area at a table for four which was much more comfortable. When our food came it was just okay and not as good as I remember it. My wife and I had the prime rib and it seemed rather bland. The service was okay no complaints. I found out that they failed to note I had made reservations through open table and I originally did not receive credit for the reservation and was almost charged with a no-show. It was eventually corrected.

the manager needs to go to a customer service class. We had a party of 7 and were seating in the dining room. It was not crowded at all at the time we were seated. 5p. We proceded to order the 1/2 price apps, was told that 1/2 price was only available 6 ft away in the bar area. We asked to speak with the manager, he was not only rude, he never really looked at us when he spoke and will never go back to this restaurant... just because of his behavior. It is a shame because the food was good and our waitress was great. Too bad for a bad manager!!!

Our waiter was not very knowledgeable regarding the beers on tap. You could tell that he had not been working there too long. Since we go to Rockwood's quite often, we have always noticed a more experienced waiter (or wait staff person what ever you want to call them) working with them. This person needs more training. Although I have to say, the food is always is good!!!

We went on a Saturday night but the place was pretty empty. I hope this isn't typical of the business they have or they may not be around long. The food was very good. The server was sweet and energetic, but she took forever to get our food out. (The food was hot when it came out, so this may have been the kitchen's fault, but there isn't a place to rate them.) The music selection was also odd. They played a lot of older, slow music, including some Grateful Dead, certainly not a vibrant choice. But overall, it was a good experience & I'm sure we will go back.

The menu is extremely limited for people who don't eat meat and don't want to eat fried food. Even the salads come with chicken and often bacon. This leaves you with a really boring salad if you ask for it without the meat. I ordered the veggie burger - it was messy overly moist (it fell apart) and wasn't that good. The fries are pretty good, but I would have prefered a healthier side. My colleague got a hamburger with real meat though, and she was very happy with it.

Went there on St. Patrick's Day (a Monday) to meet a couple of friends. I thought it was going to typical pub food in a loud bar atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the atmosphere. The crowd was light, the bar area was huge but separated nicely from most of the dinning tables. The appetizers (onion rings and Frickles - fried pickles) were very good. Entrees were excellent (pork chops, ribs, a corned beef sandwich, and a veggie wrap platter). All in all, no complaints; if you're looking for a casual bar atmosphere with very good food, this place fits the bill.
