  • Poor service, worse management

As a local of Savannah, this may be the worst experiences I've had. Jordan was friendly table side but we rarely saw her. She was either over sat or just not good. We waited 15 minutes before the hostess offered us drinks. After we ordered, it took a long time to get our food. A table that sat after us with another server finished dining before we got our meal. My friend had asked for a refill on coffee, had to wait nearly 10 minutes for and I was never offered more though my cup was empty. We asked to speak to a manager at the end. She seemed like she didn't care about our experience. When told we would never return, she said she hoped we eventually changed our mind. No compassion at all. Will not return and will never recommend.

The decor and ambiance at Rocks on the River were very nice. The food was good. We all shared calamari, which was different than the usual, and tasty. My gumbo tasted good, but the texture was too thick and the soup was lukewarm. Others had surf and turf, which was very good and the pepperoni pizza was the best we had. Our server was very personable and knowledgeable, but she was not exactly attentive. We were often with empty water glasses and my husband poured the wine. Overall, we had a good experience here.

The food was not up to par for the prices. I was very disappointed. I travel a lot and food is a hobby for me. Quality was not good. Way too pricey. The ambiance was nice. The entire party felt the same. We all agreed we should have gone to Outback on the corner.

When there were lines out the door for other restaurants on Labor Day weekend this was a great find on Open Table. So glad I used the app. As a local resident I can now add Rocks to my "go to place" for Sunday morning brunch. Rocks and the Roof was already on my go-to list for the evening!

When we arrived on the roof-top, there was no place to even stand to experience a view. We were then seated inside where it was so dark & loud we couldn't even talk to our guests. Then when seated for dinner reservations, you where out of everything we wanted to order. It was a very disappointing evening, for us & our out-of-town guests.

Had a great dinner here. Thought we were going to be on the roof, but that's more bar and less restaurant. The filet was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Tanglewood Chicken was full of flavor and beautifully cooked. Fried green tomatoes were delicious and dessert was awesome!

The restaurant was pricey for the amount of food you received. We don't mind pricey, but the food has to be good and a decent amount. The shrimp and grits was probably the best I've had. The rest of our party of four were very disappointed. In sharing tastes I'd have to agree. The "special" dessert tasted like lightly sweet nothing. Very disappointed overall. I make recommendations for a lot of visitors and I'd have to say, not going to put Rocks on the River on my list. This is my second visit, once for brunch and once for dinner.

I really enjoyed Rocks on the River. Not only was the rooftop seating amazing with the best view, we had the best waiter. We were worried we would miss our haunted tour, but he did his absolute best to get the food out to us as quickly as possible. My husband is also Gluten Intolerant and couldn't have a dessert of their special birthday menu, so our waiter brought him out ice cream. The food was absolutely amazing as well. Some of the best steak I have ever had. We had an amazing experience and will definitely return.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge and our Tour guide that day. We were able to get last minute reservations via online (which I LOVE)...Our server Corleen was friendly, knowledgable and treated us like royalty. Our meal was one of the best I have every had. Fresh and Different with PERFECT seasoning. Will highly recommend anyone to go there! The staff is outstanding!

My boyfriend and I came to Rocks on the Roof to celebrate our anniversary. It was a little confusing when we came up the elevator and the man working there told us to seat ourselves, so we did not have the opportunity to check in for our Open Table reservation. Also, all of the outdoor tables and chairs were wet and we had to ask several people for assistance and waited quite a while to get them wiped down and then for our server. The food was good - nothing special - but the server was very sweet and we had a nice time. We would come back for a drink but most likely not for dinner.

This is a no thrills dining venue. Food is tasty and filling, the mussels were cooked in a rich tomato sauce ,a spoon is needed in order not to waste it as it is delicious and I wish I had asked for the recipe! My husband and I had the sea bass , again beautifully cooked and very filling. Our best meal in Savannah for taste.

While our dinners took a while to be served after ordering, they were well worth the wait! We visited during restaurant week and we're offered a special menu. I chose a chilled Ceasar salad, a Salmon filet over polenta and broccoli with a BlackBerry glaze, and Chocolate Lava Cake. The Salmon entre was surprizing and superb! The mixture of flavors was delightful! Three cheers to the chef!

We went for dinner and had requested a table with a view. We thought we would be overlooking the river and we were placed by the wall without a window. The food was good but nothing special. We both had the sea bass special. The service was good. We would go elsewhere next time...just not that special.

MY husband had the sea bass and it was good. I ordered the margratia pizza. The crust was awesome, but the pizza itself had alot or water on it. It would have been amazing had it not been for that. The staff was excellent. They were all friendly and knowledgable. We had dinner around 7:30 so it wasn't crowded yet. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we made reservations. We were there at 6 pm on a friday. Food just only fair. My salad was warm and wilted, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. My burger was good, but my husband had the dumplings, they were a disappointment. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm, we wanted to finish dinner quick and leave. Later we went to the rooftop bar, that was very nice, good service.

Thank you for making my wife's introduction to Savannah memorable. My wife enjoyed the shrimp and grits and my steak was cooked to perfection. My only observation is that the food was on the salty side. However, we will be back but we would ask for the dishes to be seasoned with less salt.

A lot ordered the hamburger and said it was just ok . My husband and I ordered the truffle pizza and shrimp and grits and it was fabulous!! The service was great, very attentive. We had our. 10 week old and they accommodated her as well. It was beautiful on the inside. Glad we made reservations because it was busy.
