Rocks on the River at the Bohemian Hotel - SavannahSpecial celebration success...We were celebrating our daughter's sixteenth birthday with a trip to Hilton Head. Rocks on the River was recommended for a place to have a special meal and we are glad we followed up on the advice. We found the atmosphere very relaxing and the staff attentive and friendly. They acknowledged the celebration immediately and took special care to make it a special celebration. The food was excellant, great appetizers and entrees. I would recommend the mussels and fried green tomatoes for appetizers. It was a great experience and I would recommend this restaurant for an outstanding experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur experience here was excellent.Our experience here was excellent. We had a large party of 10 and everyone had a wonderful meal. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and our server was very attentive the entire night. The chef's specials were outstanding as were items from the main menu. The artwork and ambiance are also what makes this restaurant special. Hubby went with the cajun omelet with rock potatoes also quite good.

My husband and I ordered an appetizer and our entrees at the same time last year and our entrees came out about five minutes after the appetizer was served. This year, we did the same but added a soup and my soup came out at the same time as the appetizer and then our food came out a few minutes later, while we were still eating the appetizer. The decoration and atmosphere was very different-nothing I have ever seen before. There was one minor thing and that was that the Calamari, when it got to our table, was not hot at all. My husband only ate half of it and he loves Calamari.
