  • "The food at this restaurant is amazing! The service was great and the overall experience was fabulous! We were seated immediately, waited on promptly with a great smile and great attitude and the entire experience was wonderful! I will go back to Rock'N Fish over and over again - it is one of the best restaurants in the South Bay!"

  • "We had dinner during a busy Sunday, summer evening. Our table that was reserved on open table was waiting for us upon arrival. We had a view of the ocean. Great food, friendly service, wonderful evening."

  • "Never disappointed.....the food is great! Had the pecan crusted mani and garlic mash potatoes for first time. So many good things on menu....it is hard to choose. Service was great too. This is the place we like to take out if town visitors I. Our town, Manhattan Beach."

  • "If you're up for good food and some noise, Rock 'n Fish is a great place. Save room for the amazing sticky toffee dessert."

  • "Spent a ton of money for five people to eat simply sub par food and get service with so much attitude I actually felt like it was a prank. I was so dissapointed, I had booked a special fathers day dinner here after seeing all the reviews on Open Table, I wont trust this site again. For the money I spent I could have had such a nice dinner at a Ruth Chris, Maestro's, etc."

  • "We have been going to Rock'N Fish for years and have never had a bad meal. People are friendly and the food is fabulous. Best Navy Grogs in South Bay."

  • "Summer's officially started in Manhattan Beach but we were able to get a reservation on a Friday night through Open Table and when we arrived, the hostess agreed to seat us on the patio where we had ocean view. Very lovely, especially since we were entertaining out of town visitors. Rock 'N Fish is always consistent and always good. We had the 'choke and crab cakes for starters. The oak grilled 'chokes are always a crowd pleaser and the crab cakes were stuffed full of crab (not primarily filler) and delicious. I had blackened halibut, my husband the jumbalaya, our friends the crab po boy and the hot and sweet BBQ shrimp. We all very much enjoyed our meals. The halibut was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly."

  • "We arrived early so we grabbed a drink at the bar (the liquor shelves are so high they use a rolling library ladder!) from an attentive and helpful bartender. Our table was in the back, on the second level, and in the corner, which wasn't the best place for ambience (given they have an outside patio facing the end of Manhattan Beach Blvd), but it's not a large place to begin with. Food and service were excellent, I recommend the Jambalaya with fresh linguini."

  • "Parents were in town and this was an easy place to get lunch. Walked by here 100 times over the years and we finally decided to try it. Everyone enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and getting the beach view. The food was better than it needed to be considering how close you are to the beach. The fish and chips, and the cheeseburgers were good. Next time they are in town and want to go to the beach we will probably come back."

  • "Two of us sat at tiny table in porch. Meal was very average. My wife's sirloin was almost in in-edible it was so tough. I had Ahi Tuna which was Ok. Expected better. Service was fine and they did give 50% off the steak. "

  • "Jesse provided first class service upstairs, not too frequent, just enough touches. Nice crab and oyster presentation with all the accoutrements. Loved the blue cheese stuffed olive martinis table side poured from the shaker.Split the sticky toffee cake with vanilla bean ice cream...excellent ending."

  • "Went on Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend with out of town guests. Loved the location. Were seated immediately. The menu was varied and accommodated our non-fish eating friends very nicely. The blackened tilapia tacos were excellent - seasoned with the right amount of heat! This will definitely become one of our "go to" restaurants!"

  • "My party of four all were happy with the food; service was very good, too. But the noise level at 5:45 on a Saturday night was deafening. We had been there before on a Monday night, but doubt if we would ever return on a weekend."

  • "We were very lucky to get this last minute Mother's Day reservation via my Open Table mobile phone app. Our original 5:00 restaurant choice was a bust, and it was already 4:45 PM. I opened my Open Table app and was very fortunate to secure a 5:30 reservation for Rock n Fish in Manhattan Beach! Loved it! The restaurant is so close to the beach, it's practically in the ocean. It was a beautiful day! We were seated immediately. Our server was great and very patient. Everyone was pleased with their meals. The wild swordfish was to die for, especially with the fruit salsa atop. And great margaritas! I will return again. Love the area, enjoyed the casual vibe of the restaurant with its "just right" energy level. Great time!"

  • "A kid's birthday group at an adjacent table created a bit more noise than was conducive to a quiet dinner but the quality of the food and the excellent service more than made up for it. "

  • "This is a great restaurant, but I felt we were too rushed to turn the table. This was a business going away dinner and we had the bill before the dessert was served. In total we were there about 90 minutes, I didn't feel that was too long."

  • "Very popular/busy place, not a good place for a quiet romantic dinner. Food was excellent and a lot of it. Dessert was delicious. Waitress could have had a little more energetic to fit the part, she seemed either really tired or doesn't like her job but still provided good service. Other foodies very friendly! Fun but busy atmosphere. Good place for a crowd."

  • "Service was excellent and friendly. Took care of us to make sure we were doing well for entire meal. Food was great with great presentation. Noise level moderate so we could enjoy our conversations without the 15 decibel background chatter. Highly recommend. "

  • "It was my husband's birthday. The only complaint is they could have given us a booth since it was empty during the time we dined and I had requested one. The food was excellent! And the bread pudding was really decadant! The waiter was attentive and we really enjoyed the meal!"

  • "The three of us shared 2 appetizer orders of crab cakes, 1 appetizer order of mahi mahi sliders, and one cobb salad. Everything was excellent, but my assistant thinks the sliders are the best and orders them every time we go to Rock'n Fish. I think that all three courses were delicious."

  • "From the minute we walked, our server was absent. She was elsewhere. She didn't smile or have much of a personality. She actually made us feel very uncomfortable. We were a party of 4 and started with drinks and felt very rushed into placing our dinner order on a Saturday night. We were celebrating a friends birthday and wanted to have a nice relaxing dinner. Our server was not having it and kept coming back every 5 minutes pressuring us to order. The food was ok. Have had better with a much better attitude. Thanks but no thanks."

  • "The Cioppino and the Jambalaya were the best I have had in So Cal or most anywhere. Service is great with an excellent wait staff. This will be one of my stops each time I'm in So Cal."

  • "I had to organize a small work group dinner and we had several changes in our reservation with multiple people arriving late and yet the front desk was so accommodating and so friendly. The waitress was more than patient with our very slow pace even though it was extremely crowded. It was super loud but we came in right as happy hour was ending so it was packed. Looked like it would've been especially fun if I were there to just hang out with friends. Blackened salmon penne pesto was scrumptious. Not especially gourmet food here but yummy comfort food."

  • "We have 4 kids and Rock'N Fish is our favorite local spot. The food is delicious and they have such a diverse menu. We have six different pallets but there is never a shortage of options for each of us. We ALWAYS get an Oak grilled artichoke to start!!! Yum!!!"

  • "A group of six dined there on a busy Sunday late afternoon. Drinks, appetizers, dinner, dessert. Every person raved about it. Each item was really really good. We were all shocked and in amazement. Usually if one or two things during a dinner are really good, that's about all you can expect. But here, everything was exceptional. It's a great location in Manhattan Beach, steps from beach. After dinner we walked outside to watch the gorgeous sunset and strode out on the Pier and took lots of unbelievably colorful photos of the sun setting and then a gorgeous sky. All in all, a 9.8 out of 10 dining experience! For us, it was exceptional. And we are a bunch of finicky New Yawkers. (Well, they are. I am a temporarily dislocated SoCal native!)"

  • "I dined at this establishment because of the reviews, mostly favorable, and a look at the menu online that showed some interesting dishes. The atmosphere at 8 pm on a Monday night can only be described as raucous, very loud, several 6-8 people groups having a great time. This is not the place for a romantic quiet evening. Most upsetting was the lukewarm temperature of my supposed "loaded" baked potato, which was sparsely accented. My broiled mahi mahi was stove hot but very oily; the spinach, was merely boiled and limp in a cup with virtually no seasoning, very bland. All-in-all a mediocre tasting meal although the $25/entrée price with two sides was fair; it was a filling and satisfying, and ordinary, meal."

  • "I have been here several times with my boyfriend and wanted to take his parents who were visiting from Sweden for several months out to a great meal before heading back home. The service is continually great and the grilled artichoke and cioppino are OUTSTANDING. so much so that we don't even open the menu anymore. (Cioppino is definitely for sharing). Once, they forgot our grilled artichoke and were extremely apologetic, brought us out the dish on the house and even offered us drinks to apologize."

  • "The waitress gave us a large wine list and all the wines were priced at the restaurant's cost. It was so refreshing to buy a bottle of wine at a reasonable price at a restaurant! Of course, we ended up buying 2 bottles. The food was good. The menu didn't have enough healthy choices for me...so I had a hard time choosing something yummy but also low calorie. I ended up ordering salmon with pesto pasta. It was not a good choice for my diet, but it was good."
