Diner Reviews
  • "As a creature of habit I usually order the same thing when I visit! For starters the Maui Poke is fresh, sweet & spicy which tantelizes the tastebuds. Followed by the Soup du Jour - Spicy Udon Shrimp which was excellent! My "usual" is the Kapalua Rib Eye which I get medium rare. This is the most flavorful and I'm almost always satisfied. However, this past visit my rib eye was a bit on the dry side. I ate most of it just the same because the TASTE is always there. My friend had the Power Play King Crab legs which I tasted and that, too, was a little dry. Great flavor...just a little dry. What keeps me coming back is the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Indelectably indescribable!"

  • "Best Salmon I have ever had! King Crab Legs were really good too."

  • "There were no events going on at LA Live this past Saturday and so the service and ambiance were just perfect for catching up with a college friend. My Cobb salad was great, as was the sour dough bread. Service was attentive and we were not rushed."

  • "I have to complement our waitress she was excellent. Out service, food and drinks were excellent."

  • "The service was good and the food tasty however, timing was way off. The entree arrived while I was still eating my salad."

  • "We eat here often. Have had crab cakes, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp salad. Bread is great and food is very good. Service is fine and wine OK as well. A little noisy but we expect it so no big deal. Easy for Lakers fans to get in and get out! Decent food and good menu."

  • "This was my first time experience at your LA Live location. It was to meet a woman I'd only spoken to once on the phone. She had been to this location once before and liked it. English is a 2nd language for her so the noise level and acoustics didn't make it easy to follow her conversations."

  • "Wanted to take my wife to a nice dinner before we went to the Los Angeles Kings hockey game on Saturday night. What a great place for dinner. We were looking for someplace that served steak and seafood and found this place. The ambience was fantastic and the food was great and the service was excellent. Definitely coming back here."

  • "Large table, loud room, great food ... no birthday dessert only negative Another drop and run service restaurant ... if you need anything you practically have to trip someone to get attention"

  • "My experience was great, our server was absolutely fantastic, couldn't have ask for a better server!!!"

  • "On the higher end of the price range than expected but portions are nice and the food is good so one would say it's worth the extra penny. On another note, our server was attentive at the beginning but after delivering our drinks, took him twenty minutes for him to return to take our order...This is not a good thing when starving. Not only that, but we ordered salads to accommodate our entries and the entries came immediately after receiving our salads. Not much time to finish our salads or our entries would've gotten cold. Unfortunately, parking is an issue as this isn't cheap either. We parked underground and even with a $5 validation ticket from the restaurant, we still paid $10. We were in the restaurant over 2 1/2 hours..."

  • "Semi pricey, but it's the area, ya know? Great place to go before events at Staples or Nokia. Fish is fresh and portions are decent, but the service, yech!!"

  • "Took the hubby there for his 31st bday and he loved every minute of it. We were greeted by several of the staff who made us feel very welcomed. Food was amazing!!"

  • "It was a busy night at LA Live and we sat out on the patio and had lots of interesting people to watch. All the food was good from the appetizer to the dessert. The calamari was great and the teriyaki chicken is so moist and delicious. The server was attentive and we had a great dining experience."

  • "My friend and I had dinner here (for my bday) before the Ducks v. Kings game. It was very busy but we had good service. I think it was extra busy around LA Live bc of the boy band playing at Nokia Live. Didn't try any alcohol, so not sure how good the drinks are. But food portions are big! We ordered the Maui Style Poke, didn't expect it to be spicy but I still enjoyed it. I'd of back again."

  • "Coming from Orange County for a Clipper Game, we searched the LA Live website looking for a nice place to eat, and Rock'n Fish sounded like us - WOW did we make the right choice. First impressions always count, and our waitress was super cheerful and personable; then we sampled the fresh sourdough bread - best ever! Decided to start with the Oak Grilled Artichoke (which was Freaking Amazing) and Crab Cakes (Wonderful); and since my wife had been hoping for Italian Food, we shared the Blackened Salmon Penne Pesto - and it was incredible; the flavors of the salmon, pesto sauce, along with the dried Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts made for a party in your mouth. An amazing meal, and we WILL be back to one of the locations!"

  • "We have dined at Rockin Fish on two other ocassions and enjoyed the experience, On this Friday's date night, the restaurant was not packed but the service was extremely slow and my wife ordered medium rarre beef and it came char-burnt. We had to ask one of the bustboys to take the food back. Our waiter never came over to ask what happened, even when he delivered the corrected order."

  • "Food & service was excellent. It was bit too noisy. It would have been hard to have a conversation in a bigger group. Loved the chocolate lava cake!"

  • "Love both locations...service is friendly and food is good and menu is interesting..and they will make adjustments"

  • "Went to Rockn Fish for dinner before Laker's game. Great place to be, close to the front door, walked right over after dinner. Price is acceptable, meaning not cheap. But for what you get and the location, it's a good value Ordered Mahi Mahi, it was good, not as good as the one I had in Maui but it's pretty good. My friend had the Sirloin and he really liked it. The Appetizer Poke was excellent. Service is good and I would be back here again for another Staples Center outing."

  • "The wife and I had visited this restaurant last time we had a concert at the Nokia center. We said we would be back if we had another concert or even at LA live. The inferno martini was wow good. Spouse had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp and was delicious. As for me I had the seared mahi mahi. Could not complain on the food or drink sand service was excellent. My only complain would be the level of noise coming from the table next to us, extremely loud almost to the point of texting my wife."

  • "I took my fiance to your establishment for Valentine's Day. As we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and my fiance was given a rose. She was so happy thinking it was from me. We were taken to our table and immediately our waitress was there with water and to explain the menu. We ordered mixed drinks and they perfect. It was such a great experience that I would definitely go there again. Anyone could come here for any occasion. If you're a sports fan, you can sit at the bar and watch a variety of sports on the tv's available. A definite great spot! I did finally admit to my fiance that the rose was from the restaurant and not me. We both laughed..."

  • "The food is always good. Service is inconsistent. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. We had reservations for Sat nite before a concert at 5:00. We requested a booth. They called us about 3 hours before to confirm our reservation and I said we were looking forward to it and would the booth be available. The girl said, "Absolutely! We have it marked for you. When we got there they took us to a table and I reminded them that we had a booth reserved. He said there weren't any available even though we saw a clean one. I asked about it and he said it was for a reservation and I told him that we had a reservation for a booth and possibly it was for us. He just said no it isn't and we don't have one available. Not a very welcoming attitude."

  • "Went to this gem before attending a concert at Staples Center. The restaurant is pleasing to the eye and has a pub feel but in a good way. Started off by getting the Inferno Martini which was so delicious. It's jalapeno infused so it has a kick. Next, we had the clam chowder. That, too, was delicious but it had a bit too many cubed potatoes for my liking. Dinner was crab cakes for me and filet mignon for my friend. Both dishes were a hit. You have a choice of two sides with each entree, so we chose garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. Both complimented our respective dishes. Oh, and the portions are quite respectable. Our server was attentive so all in all, it was a great dining experience."

  • "We ate at Rock'N Fish LA Live prior to a recent Lakers game. Great location to eat prior to the game if you want to beat the pre-game traffic. Reservations are needed and we were sat down as we arrived. Food was very good and the server was friendly. I will eat there again next time I'm in town, most likely when I see a better team - like the Clippers :>)"

  • "Went there before an event at the Nokia and was a great choice! Very good happy hour drinks. We wanted to order the the prime rib, which is not served until 5 pm and it was only 4:30. The server took out prime rib order with a back up order in case the prime rib wasn't ready. To our surprise, we got the prime rib and it was delish! It was very flavorful and a very large piece! The mashed potatoes and the veggies were very good as well."

  • "We both had the salmon dinner and it was fabulous. It comes with steamed vegetables, white rice and/or garlic potatoes. The house bread is very crisp and tasty and the wine and cocktail lists are immense. A little pricey but you must always remember...you get what you pay for. Well worth it. We're going back again next time we're at the L.A. Live complex."

  • "For New Year's Eve on January 31, 2013 we decided to take our parents to celebrate at Rock'n Fish at L.A. Live. We searched for a seafood restaurant that our parent's would enjoy and offered a varied menu for everyone's appetites. Our parents and my wife selected seafood plates with a choice of 2 side dishes and I ordered the Classic Cobb salad. I usually order a cobb salad whenever we dine out, however the Classic Cobb salad was possibly the best cobb salad that I have ever eaten! My compliments to Rock'n Fish at L.A. Live!!!"

  • "The food ios hit or miss, I like several items but the Prime rib for $30.00 leaves a lot to be desied. Better Prime rib and less money at Lawerys next door but not the ambience! Also they know you are going to a game or show but still they seem under staffed with waiters and waitresses. Other than that is is a good option if you are going to a event at L A Live,"

  • "I had a reservation but the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. Then they seated us by the bussing area. Employees were noisy getting ice ready for the night and laughing and talking. Since there were so many seats available I can't believe they seated us there. Very frustrating! The waitress was great and good was excellent - I love there bread!"
