  • "First time in new york and i could get a better burger at soho house or on the street much cheaper and better quality came here as one of my daughters many special birthday outings and was so dissapointed a beer was three times the price of london in a top establishment the veiw and location is fantastic but the food here is average and it lets the rockafeller down worst 70 dollars i spent in new york had better food for 6 dollars on the street or in the local deli and service was poor and staff were rude only reason i did not complain was not to upset my daughter nyc was amazing but this was a huge huge letdown "

  • "Our lunch was perfect in every way, a sunny early Spring day with skaters outside, wonderful food and wonderful service. The staff was all extremely personable and the food (Filet Mignon) melted in your mouth. Wonderful. "

  • "The Rock Center Cafe represents old style elegance in a modern setting. Located where it is overlooking the ice skating rink at Rock center, sitting and eating becomes a memorable experience for tourists as well as native New Yorkers like myself. The menu might be short but if the quality of the items we orders is any indication this is a kitchen to cherish."

  • "My fiancé took me to dinner here on a Sunday. I ordered the seafood pasta. It was the best pasta I've ever had...I appreciated the freshness of the pasta noodles. My fiancé liked his ravioli dish too and loved their iced tea (hint of passion fruit). We were also seated by the window and thoroughly enjoyed the view out onto the ice rink as we watched the ice skaters go by. There were certainly some entertaining folks out there; it added to our joyous occasion and fun ambiance. I would love to make this an annual birthday dining experience!"

  • "I celebrated my 70th birthday at the Rock Center Café, along with a dozen or so family members, while visiting New York. The two window tables were set & waiting upon our arrival as per the pre-arrangements and the staff were amazing. The birthday cake which was also pre-ordered was simply divine & fairly priced for the exceptional quality. The view of the skating rink and the flags around Rockefeller Center was spectacular. The experience is the best that NY has to offer."

  • "We were visiting for Boston and wanted our kids to have the fun Rockefeller Plaza experience. Before skating we had lunch at Rock Center Cafe. It was delicious and the atmosphere was great! We loved the view of the skating rink. Rock Center Cafe also accommodated my son's food allergies. I had called ahead to make sure they could, they were really great about it :)"

  • "With delicious, attentive service, reasonable prices (for the location and food quality) and a phenomenal view of the skaters on the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink, the only surprise is that the restaurant isn't packed with tourists. I highly recommend it!"

  • "Convenient. Food ok (burgers: asked for medium, came medium rare). Felt as thought the server was rushing us in and out. Not relaxing or restful. Clean."

  • "I ordered the organic chicken and it was raw--literally bleeding. The waiter disappeared to take care of it and never returned until I went looking for him. We were freezing, as were seated next to the ice rink, right over a vent. It was a very unsatisfying meal for us. Very disappointed. The only upside was that my raw meal was comped."

  • "Despite some unfavorable reviews online, we took a chance on the Rock Center Cafe on a recent trip to NYC. We were seeing a taping of The Tonight Show and wanted to stay close to the area, and saw that Rock Center Cafe had a Restaurant Week special. For $25 we had appetizer, entree and dessert. It was all delicious and the service was great. Very friendly and attentive. We watched the skaters on the famous ice rink while we ate. It was a lovely afternoon!"

  • "I was taking my niece to her first Broadway show to celebrate her sixth birthday. Since we were coming into the city by train I wanted a place that would keep her interested and alert (we left NJ at 9:15 a.m.) so that she would be energized for the show. Watching the ice skaters was a great way to do this. She loved the linen napkins, the great table by the window and in general she had a wonderful time. We could talk as the restaurant was nice and quiet. I loved the fact that our waiter gave my niece extra attention and made her feel special. I felt special too. It is a great place and I will come back."

  • "I've always wanted eat at the Rock Cafe and watch the skaters--Saturday brunch was the day! Great table, and my waitress was absolutely fine with making some substitutions in how I wanted my omelet, and the service was great! Very relaxing atmosphere, and at the same time classic and upscale. The white cranberry cosmo was excellent--and I plan to come back many times. Can't believe I had never been before!!!"

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and went ice skating afterwards. Waiter was very nice and service was great hostess was very friendly as well. I had the salmon which had little to no seasoning, he had a very chewy piece of steak with some greasy garlicky cruchy potato strings. Dessert was awesome and wine was delish. We had a table by the window and it was so much fun watching the skaters. Super fun but not such a good meal."

  • "The view overlooking the ice rink at Rockefeller Center was second to none. Plus, the service was attentive. The food was fair at best and the prices were so inflated that it was difficult to enjoy the mediocre food."

  • "Didn't hope to have the best breakfast, but it was really dissapointing. Asked for natural orange juice but it wasn't. They delivered my pancakes to the table next to ours, and then took it back to me 10 minutes later saying that they didn't touch it... And the restaurant was almost empty, not a case of overwhelmed service. Very nice view, but don't expect anything else."

  • "Went to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. Got a table right by the window which put us about 3 feet from the famous Rockefeller Center ice skating rink! She got to see the Zamboni come out and clean the ice and then watch all the skaters! The staff made a big deal of her birthday (bringing her ice cream dessert w/a candle in it w/out me even asking)! Food was fantastic, service was great, but it was the location that was the true gem! Sometimes w/these restaurants who have the one of a kind locations, the food/service piece leaves something to be desired, but the Rock Center Café, happily, did NOT fall into this trap! Would go back again and again! Bravo and my thanks for making a once-in-a-lifetime day even more special!"

  • "Ambiance was great to watch the skating on the rink. Not too crowded for lunch with good service and regular food. Burger was very good and turkey sandwich good as well. Expensive for lunch but we went for the view"

  • "I wanted to book this restaurant pretty much for the view of the ice skating rank as I was on holidasy with the family. The view is great entertainment, the food was gorgeous and service superb. I have no complaints at all and would strongly recommend for someone that would like to have a nice dinner experience when visiting NY."

  • "I thought I was just checking this off my list and was expecting an overpriced lunch. It's expensive, like all places in NYC, but the food was quality and it was a very nice lunch date with my husband. I'd recommend it to friends and tourists."

  • "we really enjoyed the experience as we had 12 people with 4 being kids and two under the age of five. The restaurant was very patient with the kids and gave us a private room still with a view of the skating rink. The service was fast, especially for the kids orders and the food was quite good and again, the service was first rate. A big thumbs up and very family friendly."

  • "Great place to go if you want a nice view and a average lunch. You can't beat the view of the ice rink really cool. The food is ok but could be better for what you have to pay. But after all it's a NY Landmark."

  • "I brought a friend from out of town here for an early dinner as I thought she would like the lovely view of the ice rink. The view is the best thing it has going for it! The food was fine, nothing spectacular. The ambiance is quiet and it wasn't very busy. Very pricey for food that is diner quality. I guess that's because of the location. I wouldn't go here again."

  • "This lovely restaurant, which has as its view, the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink in winter (it is fabulous during the Christmas season) takes full advantage of the sparkle of the venue. Though window seats are preferred...all location within the restaurant feel the mood of the totally new York environment. The food is always lovely (delicious, imaginative, and beautiful presented and well priced). The staff is helpful, cheerful, never intrusive, never cold. Always a beautiful New York experience."
