Rock Bottom Brewery - YorktownEnjoyed our vegan mealMy husband and I have been no-oil vegans for 9 months and this time enjoyed 2 of the entrees that Rock Bottom offers. John had a veggie burger and I had the veggie tacos w/o cheese and sour cream. They kindly substituted our sides -- mine, with a nice-sized dallop of guacamole and John, some black beans and Mexican rice. We followed it up with a non-vegan brownie dessert w/o the ice cream, which we very much enjoyed. A few people showed up early and they were already seated when I arrived. The staff is very friendly, they'll make changes to any dish you order to suite your needs or tastes. Our server was great. I have dined here before and it has always been good. Very accommodating, friendly and prompt with their service. If the kids pizza and kids desert was not as good, we probably wouldn't visit as often.

Since then I have brought friends to this place many times. However, this time I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience.
I made reservations & due to a minor traffic delay, we arrived 10 minutes late. The front desk informed me that my reservation was "no showed" but she would fix it & we would be seated in a few moments. The reservation was not fixed & my party of three waited almost 20 minutes for a table. I was about to leave. But we stayed.
Our server was very nice & attentive. The drinks were slow to come out, but worth the wait.
Even though it was not perfect, it wasn't a total disaster. He came at all of the right moments, without being over-bearing in the slightest. He kept refills coming on non-alcoholic beverages without being asked and suggested a different beer for my Dad who wasn't thrilled with his usual choice of Miller Lite (because it was $4). He cleared plates efficiently and was super friendly. I really wish I could remember his name but he was medium build and a brunette! :) The food came out in a timely manner and everything was really yummy. I think they've got it right with the portion sizes as well. My favorite app would have to be the nachos-- a perfect size for our group of 5!
