Diner Reviews
  • "We barely walked in and gazed around before we were greeted by smiling faces and led to a booth. Our server was friendly as well as funny, cracking jokes with us while taking our order. We ordered a few drinks and were also brought glasses of water. Our appetizer was the Ahi Tuna and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The sauce was so good that I wanted to lick the whole thing clean! For dinner, we split two entrees: the shrimp and lobster enchiladas, and the pulled pork sandwich. First off, the enchilada portion size was enormous! And a variety of yummy sauces. The apple cole slaw on the pulled pork was the best I've ever had. For a side, we chose the Mac and cheese, and I was in homemade cheesy heaven. We will definitely be going back!"

  • "We had met for a meeting and I had requested a quite table for our group of 6. We were given a VERY small and cramped table at the front of a section where everyone needed to walk past to get deeper into the section. There appeared to be a number of open tables available that would have allowed us to have our meeting documents and conduct the meeting while eating comfortably. They mixed up orders and were not very attentive to detail. We will not be going back for another meeting because they surely did not consider our requests and we do these meetings every month."

  • "We went on sunday after watching a play in the fifth avenue theater, we came out and it is just across the street. we made reservations and were seated promptly after our arrival. Which was excellent because we were starving. food came a few minutes later and it was perfect."

  • "A few of us like to go out once a month on a Friday night after work on a payday. This month we pick Rock Bottom. I set the reservation for six of us to have dinner there, but at the last minute one of my co-works could not go. I did not have time to change the reservation so when we got there I told the hoist it was now for five not six. We also told our server and the sixth place setting was not remove and our server keep asking us if we wanted to wait for the sixth person. The restaurant did not seem very busy, but our server did not come to check on us very much, took a while for our food to come, and after we were done eating some of our plates where not removed."

  • "I've been there 2x in the last 2 months. The first time my Turkey burger was raw and I turned it back in thinkin I'd definitely get eColi. the waiter left with it and never came back . We had theater tickets for the 5th Avenue so we had to go and I didn't get dinner . GRRRR then 2 nights ago, we tried it again as it's so convenient to the theater.....again, bad food - my Baja Chicken burger was dry and bland, no flavor in fact and like eating a door stop. I never say never but I'm pretty sure I'm not ever going back. Which is so sad to me because i like the ambiance and location so very much."

  • "We were a party of 6 going to the theater across the street. Our service was so slow that if we had needed to walk any further to the theater we would have been late. One of our party had a hamburger and it was over cooked. 2 of us had Fish & Chips. the Fries were not fresh nor hot. the fish was tough and the batter was not crisp. I would say this was my worst fish and chips ever. We also ordered Calamari as an appetizer. I was not impressed. I will not be back."

  • "Rock Bottom is perfect either before or after a show at the 5th Avenue Theater as it is located directly across the street, is convenient, and you won't have to re-park your car! Amazing burgers, great beers on tap, friendly staff. This is my 'go to' place when I come downtown."

  • "Enjoyed the Classic Burger at lunch for $9.50. The burger was nicely topped with melted cheddar cheese (several cheese types were offered), lettuce, tomato and red onions. The burger came with a choice of one side. Selected the French fries from several choices offered."

  • "Great restaurant when you are going to the 5th Ave Theatre.....right across the street"

  • "One member of my family is vegetarian, but she is used to having somewhat limited options. Rock Bottom had almost NO choices. Of their half dozen salads only one didn't have meat. Their mac and cheese has chicken! How does chicken improve mac and cheese?! She chose a vege pizza but was unimpressed and didn't take the leftovers back to her dorm. So, the repetition of dorm food was more appealing than restaurant leftovers. Many families have a vegetarian or two. We don't go back to restaurants that don't make all of us feel welcome. It would be easy to mention vegetarians on the menu (shows that you want them as customers). The menu could identify salads and dishes that can be prepared without meat. Good location: across from 5th Ave Theatre."

  • "We usually eat at Rock Bottom before we go to the show. It's usually very good but this time was great! The food was perfect and the service was right on. The restaurant has a rush of theatre goers and always handles it with grace and efficiency. We will go back before each performance."

  • "very convenient to the 5th Ave. Theater! Didn't even have to go out in the cold from the parking garage as it is in the Rainier Tower across from the theater and there is an underground walkway."

  • "The experience of using the Open Table to make a reservation was great. I didn't have to worry about finding a # to call for reservations and it was easy considering I thought I was late in booking. I think that my group of four enjoyed the food. I have eaten often at Rock Bottom as it is close considering I work in the Rainier Tower."

  • "The location, ambiance and service here are all "good"; it would be a great place to meet "the guys" after work for a beer or 2 and then head out someplace else to eat. We had lunch there; both of us had the Ahi tuna salad and it was fair at best. The salad was nothing special; it just looked like someone had opened a Trader Joes / Freddy Meyer's bag of field greens and plopped it on the plate. The tuna was also fair at best. Given the burgeoning foodie scene downtown these days, there are many other places I'd recommend over Rock Bottom for lunch. Beer > yes! Food > no!"

  • "We went in after a show at 5th Ave Theatre Great location. BUT food was just okay. Onions rings not worth the calories. Natchos were great. Hamburgers just okay. Waitress disappeared for most of our stay. Would go again because of location but would just have the Natchos!"

  • "The restaurant is right across the street from the 5th Ave. Theatre. It makes it very convenient to have a meal before going to the show. It is also only about two blocks away from Benaroya Hall."

  • "Everything was great except: we ordered 2 desserts at 6 20. At beginning of our meal at 5 30 we warned waitress that we had to be done to br at thestre show before 7pm. By 6 45 still hadnt received dessert yet. We cancelled dessert order since we had no time to eat it. That was disappointing for us and for the waitress."

  • "Although not on the 5th Avenue's "official list of restaurants" because of special connections, I am sure, this is certainly a convenient and great spot for dinner prior to the Theatre. We met friends there before the theatre, and all enjoyed our food and the total experience from what I could tell. The reservation system worked great and we will use this again. We thank you for the opportunity to do that as we just zipped right in at the appointed time."

  • "This time I tried the shrimp/lobster enchiladas, and was pleasantly surprised how good they were. Very tasty, and the plate was very appealing. My fried had a personal pizza and salad and was delighted. The server was accommodating without being annoying which we appreciated."

  • "We ordered a salad, hamburger & pasta. Nothing happened for 20 mins. then our hamburger & pasta came, cold - no salad, it came about 2 min. later after we reminded the waitress. To be fair, there was a group of 25 next to us who were just being served and waited upon. We were neglected, and sadly so was our food. It's a good place for nachos, or something small, but don't expect a nice dinner experience. Too bad, we have been there many times and probably won't go back."

  • "A perfect place for a light lunch before a matinee or an early dinner, in time for the theatre. Staff works fast to make sure that you can make your event in time."

  • "We like the location, the beer, the happy hour, and love the nachos on main menu. And the salads. Enjoy making reservations online for dining room. It looks like there are areas of dining room that could be quieter for those of us who don't do well with background noise."

  • "The food was very tasty and the service was very quick. We were going to The 5th Avenue Theater for a show and they served the food quickly so that we could make the first curtain. Lots of customers were in the bar to watch all of the football games. Good experience and I plan to go again."

  • "I've had several good lunches at RB over the years, so when my wife & I took our daughter and a friend to a matinee at the 5th Ave we thought we would hit RB for dinner. Unfortunately, meal was mediocre. Entrée salads, were fine (though portion size was small. The girls ordered off kids menu; not good -- the chicken fingers had a very strange-tasting breading and burger was dry & over-cooked. Fries tasted like McDonald's (Good or bad depending on the eye of the beholder). Bright spot was the tasty (and very rich) beer/cheese soup. All in all, not horrible, but not special at all. Definitely a notch below Red Robin quality level on this night."

  • "Got the pretzel sticks with cheese dip... Amazing and huge! Also got burgers, the meat was salty, nice bun though, good onion rings."

  • "While I always enjoy my visit to Rock Bottom in Seattle, my overall experience was not the greatest this time around. The wait staff was excellent, as usual; however, my meal did not quite sit well with me (or the others who tried a small sample). I will definitely continue to visit your establishment, but I did have to mention my issue. For the sake of future diners, the meal which did not agree with me was the Cajun Pasta."

  • "When we arrived, they didn't have our reservation from OpenTable even though I had a confirmation email. When we notified them of this, they continued to seat 7 more parties that arrived after us without reservations. The food was what you would expect from an Applebee's. I had the Habanero Shrimp (a.k.a. Applebee's Dynamite Shrimp), and my girlfriend had the stuffed bell peppers. For having "habanero" in the name, there was zero heat in the shrimp. The stuffed bell peppers were very spicy just from the chorizo in it, so the names are misnomers."
