Robin'sInside -- nice for quiet conversatiInside -- nice for quiet conversation with nice nook for two tucked to one side. Outer enclosed patio for larger groups was was very noisy (large 3-family group of over 12 seared nearby) --still good food with variety of offerings. Generous portion of mushroom/spinach lasagna was very rich and large enough to split -- 2 as a main or 4-ways as a savory side course. Nice crisp crusty calamari app. -- not oily! Lavender soda was refreshingly novel. $12 corkage was much appreciated.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA clean, well-lighted placeOkay, Hemmingway I'm not. But if you're in the market for a GREAT little restaurant with an interesting menu, nice wine selection and exceptional service, then Robin's Restaurant is the place for you. I'd particularly recommend the Angus Beef Burger which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their dessert menu was terrific as well. My wife and I dined on the back patio along with our two pooches which was a huge bonus--no need to keep them cooped up in the car while we stuffed our faces. Can't wait to get back to Cambria.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodThe menu is varied. We had Calamari, ok but not great.
Our entrees, flat iron steak & sea bass. Both were very tasty.
On the down side, the place is a bit pricey, $95 for dinner for 2 (entrees, appetizer & 2 beers, no dessert or coffee).6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Cambria favoriteWe've been visiting Cambria for over 30 years, and every visit includes dinner and lunch at Robin's. We have never been disappointed; it's our favorite in Cambria! The menu offers a broad spectrum of delightful and healthy choices, and the food is always beautifully prepared and interesting. Excellent, friendly service. Desserts are exceptional! Salmon bisque is a favorite
Enjoy dining on the covered patio.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter Show Special PlaceWe had attended the Pewter Plough Playhouse production, and I had made a reservation for 6:30, not knowing how long the Sunday matinee would be. We arrived nearly an hour early, but they seated us anyway. The place soon began to fill up -- everyone knows how good it is, I guess, but it was my first time there. It was perfect -- excellent service, great food, nice surroundings. I will definitely go there again as often as possible.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMRobin's RocksThe only way to have a start (or full course) at Robin's is the Salmon Bisque...in an over used word, AWESOME!
Our server had been there for over a decade (must have started in grade school) and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
The only glitch was over desert. We ordered the chocolate flour-less cake and a Hot Fudge Sundae. The cake was outstanding, but the Sundae was covered in whipped cream with no hot fudge? Our server removed it from the bill without hesitation.
The wine list was quite complete with both high end hard to find selections and reasonable local selections...something for every taste and wallet.
I would not hesitate to recommend them or return!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest resturant in the area.Best resturant in the area. beautiful food excellent. I have eaten here twice and it has both times been superb.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dog-friendly restaurantService was outstanding and the food was delicious. We brought our dog on vacation with us and the waitress had a clean water dish waiting for her. The outdoor patio was lovely--very quiet and inviting. The salmon bisque met the expectations of many a yelp review. The menu has a variety of "global" options and they use fresh ingredients from the garden. My cobb salad was "okay" and my husband enjoyed his burger. In short, the food was good, but it wasn't spectacular. Perhaps it would have been better if we tried some of their more exotic items. However, we did appreciate the level of freshness in the ingredients used. There are many great restaurants in Cambria, but we preferred Robin's for the service and ambiance over the food.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gemRobin's is a wonderfully quaint bistro. The salmon bisque soup is to die for! The service was outstanding! And the atmosphere was serene and tranquil. I am going to recommend this treasure to all of my friends. Thank you for an incredible experience!
-Julia5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't hesitate....go enjoy! The menu may seem to not focus on anything, but don't let that worry you. The key theme is local fresh ingredients. Salad of mixed greens and herbs was perfect. Lamb curry was outstanding in flavor and tenderness. Tandoori chicken cooked to perfection all of these served with flavorful chutneys and fruits. Wine list is balanced with many local selections you won't see outside the central coast and reasonably priced. Desserts all looked great so we shared a trio. Of mango basil sorbet, chocolate to, and ginger crime brûlée. Coffee was a local, roast and nice finish. Server was helpful on selections and friendly. All staff seemed to be on the job as tables were never empty. Yu will be happy you made a reservation.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbience PlusWe have been going to Robin's for Decades and have never been disappointed. Robins is in the quaint town of Cambria on the beautiful Central Coast of California. It is on a main street in downtown Cambria that is full of ambience and surrounded by a lot of unique and quaint shops and a Historical Home and Barn. Also, you are within walking distance of the rest of the town of Cambria which is full of Art and Creativity. The food is always excellent and the service is quality. Shanee an owner of Robins is very warm and friendly and this carries over into the ambience of Robins, it is very special. Cambria is half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA birthday dinner hit!I took my partner here for her birthday and it was a great choice. We've been here before and knew the menu is creative and innovative. I had roasted artichoke for appetizer and she had the signature salmon bisque. For dinner she had Chioppino and I had the duck breast, and everything was beautifully presented and top notch. The server brought a petite hot fudge sundae with a candle, a nice and unexpected touch. We lucked out and were seated in a cozy private alcove with beautiful stained glass windows. The evening was a hit! You can't go wrong at Robin's.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Find!On a weekend get-away with my husband, while staying in town was told about Robin's. What a great find! This place served great food, awesome service in a cute/cozy setting. Must try the chocolate desert, special treat.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!!Loved Robin's. We've traveled to Cambria many times and apparently overlooked this gem. Cozy ambience, attentive service, and the food was amazing. Ordered the lobster enchiladas -- Wow. My boyfriend had the jadori chicken. He loved that. Definitely on the list for future visits.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience! This restaurant was recommended and did not dissappointment. Food was wonderful!! The curry was one of the best I've had and my husband tried the lobster enchilada. Both dishes were excellent and the service was friendly and well timed. We will be back to try other very imaginative dishes on the menu!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMenjoyed Robin'sWe would return to Robin's for the pork chop. The cheesecake was okay... would not order it again.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMpicky eatersas picky eaters, we would recommend this place. also being vegetarians for the past 50 years makes this restaurants food very desirable. hands down a great place for lunch.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMReliably good foodRobin's is a fixture in Cambria, with good reason. The friendly staff and the fresh ingredients prepared well keep calling us back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBruno on Mother's DayThe food was delicious! We all got different menu items and everyone in our group was delighted with their choice. The service was superb. This was our first visit to Robin's but it won't be our last.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Real TreasureRobin's is a wonderful find in Cambria! The food is really wonderful (Salmon Bisque is in a class by itself). We will continue to
revisit this restaurant on every visit. This time we came with 9 diners and the restaurant had no difficulty accomodating us and food service was spot on...every dish perfect and the waitress was superb. Loved it!!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite place in CambriaMy favorite place in Cambria - great food from a very eclectic selection. A lot of vegetarian and fish choices. We really enjoyed the lobster enchilada and the lasagna. The triple sampler desert was also a great hit.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMService and warmth is greatI would say the servers are very enthusiastic and accommodating. The food is a little too conservative in flavor. Could be bolder.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful find! This place came highly recommended and after visiting, I realize why. The service and Ambience were outdone only by the tast and quality of the food served.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Lunch!I made an easy online lunch reservation for five. My real estate clients were visiting from Minnesota. The restaurant was a great place to go to after visiting the Hearst Castle. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the wine. The waitress was pleasant and showed up at our table at the appropriate times.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific RestaurantThe menu at Robin's is very interesting. For starters we ordered the pork sopes, which were miniature wheat pastry cups filled with a pork mixture, topped with sauteed red onions and queso. Very, very good. For my main course I ordered the lobster enchiladas topped with crema and fresh avocado and shredded cabbage. Also very, very good. The husband ordered pork chops served over a corn polenta. This was a medium large porkchop, grilled to perfection. The polenta was cooked just right, and served with a sauce or gravy; he said it was excellent! The atmosphere was very pleasant, and I was glad to see no children wandering around. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining, and every table was filled. We will return.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFun, unique spot with lotsFun, unique spot with lots of tasty options. Food is made with local, fresh ingredients and you can taste it. Would definitely go back on a future trip t Cambria.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMwish we lived closer to Cambria....wish we lived closer to Cambria.....would return in a flash!....great food....some of the best duck I've ever had....4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surpriseThis quaint little restaurant definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, offering a healthy and creative selection. While the restaurant has a beautiful ambience and is not necessarily a place to take kids (candles on tables, etc.), we took our (well-behaved) 3-year-old with us and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Robin's definitely added to our memory of a great family vacation. Highly recommend.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe vegetarian soup was myThe vegetarian soup was my favorite part of the meal. Robin's curries are great, although they didn't seem quite as great as I remember them being after 7 years away in Houston. I was disappointed in the chocolate torte - very gooey and again, not quite as great as I remember their desserts being 7 years ago. I had to wonder if they've changed their recipes or have a less experienced chef. The service was a little slow, but overall very excellent. Again, after 7 years being spoiled with Houston restaurants, Robin's prices seemed a little high for the quality of the food. But I recommend a visit!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and great service.Delicious food and great service. What more could you ask for? Recommended.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my second time here,This is my second time here, 1st time for brunch. Was disappointed they didn't have any lamb dishes available for brunch4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ordered a variety of appetizersWe ordered a variety of appetizers and several main courses as a way of sampling the menu. This was our second experience at Robin's and once again, we had a wonderful meal. The four of us are foodies and we were delighted with creativity of the menu and melding of unique flavors. Great service as well! We will definitely be back when we return to Cambria.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstandingVery accommodating to our large party. Service was top notch. !!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in Cambria!Best place in Cambria, hands-down. The food was absolutely delicious. Try the salmon bisque - I would love to get this recipe! It was the best I've ever had. We then shared the lemon roasted chicken - plenty for the two of us. Was moist and just yummy! I wouldn't visit Cambria again without stopping at this place for dinner! While we enjoyed Sea Chest, which is probably the most popular restaurant in Cambria, Robin's beats them for sure!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
