Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I eat out a lot because Paso has such great resturants. This dinner was the best we have had in a long time and we will be back! The steak and salmon was prepared perfectly and soooo good. The portions were adequate compared to some other nice places who give very small amounts and the side dishes were also tasty. we will choose this place over others from now on and the prices are better as well."

  • "We LOVED Robert's. The Mahi Mahi with coconut rice was delicious but the pork chop was the best we've ever had. Huge, tender and seasoned and grilled perfectly. Shani served us and was attentive, friendly and made our experience wonderful."

  • "We didn't like our first table, so they graciously moved our group of four. The menu has a great variety of selections---the special melon salad was deliciously refreshing. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. We loved the décor and the seats were really comfortable."

  • "My husband and I both ordered the mahi mahi entree in addition to an appetizer that we shared. The restaurant was unusually busy for a Sunday night, yet the appetizer was delivered to us in a very timely manner. Soon after we finished the appetizer, our meals came out. My piece of mahi mahi was completely done and hot. My husbands was just slightly cooked on the outside and raw and cool inside. The waiter took the uncooked plate and let us know that they would start over and get it right. Unfortunately, this was a special night out for us and we ended up eatting our meals seperately. Robert's did not make any attempt to provide a dessert or a reduction of the meal cost for this unfortunate event."

  • "We had a wonderful meal here for our anniversary. Intimate, classy atmosphere. Food cooked to perfection, and some novel side dishes we've never had, but which were a nice surprise. Fallen chocolate souffle was light and not too filling. Would highly recommend it, and we will definitely be coming back if we're in Paso again."

  • "Everything was top great. The service was outstanding. Loved the fact that they welcome tasting of wine before selecting the bottle you want. We were a party of 4 and everyone commented that this was the best meal of the year for them."

  • "Dinner Thursday night, 7 PM reservation. Promply and courteously greeted and seated. Rack of Lamb was very good but rather disappointed with the Crusted Halibut. Was a bit overcooked. Have had it before and it was excellent. Nice wine list from the area."

  • "I have enjoyed lunch and dinners at Robert's since they opened. I usually visit at lunch time with the fish tacos my favorite. The fish and chips are great as well. The chef has a daily soup that you won't want to miss as well. The interior of the restaurant looks formal and elegant, yet welcoming to casual diners like us. Definitely a restaurant you want to try.......and keep coming back!"

  • "Very good food and service. Large portions so both couples did split plates. Our salmon was very good but the vegetables and rice with it were nothing special. We four shared a delicious chocolate dessert. It was nice and quiet. Comfortable seating. "

  • "Our party of six had A very enjoyable dining experience. It just so happens our party had two Roberts at the same table. The pork belly appetizer was a big hit. Our souvenir photo includes both Roberts with their own personal sign in the background. I also liked the black & white photos on every wall. A great local find."

  • "It was a little hot that day. We had reservations but they said our opentable reservations only got us an outside seat. They still had plenty of open seats inside we just couldn't sit in them. It was windy too. The food was good. The service was a little on the Snooty side. We watched countless people turned away when the restaurant was 1/2 empty during our whole meal. Not sure why we had to sit outside with all those open seats inside. Probably will try the Artisan next time in Paso. "

  • "We were a group of 6, enjoying a lovely dinner on wine festival weekend. The restaurant was busy, but that didn't compromise the quality of the food. Two friends ordered the braised short ribs with pasta, and both agreed it was very good. The only comment was that the pasta was drowning a bit in the sauce. I ordered the mushroom lasagna, which was out of this world. I would definitely order that again. In all, everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was okay. The waiter was competent, just not overly friendly."

  • "Robert's is a great local restaurant. I came here with my dad after a long drive and it was a very calm atmosphere. White table linens and decor, we sat down and enjoyed a very simple (but well prepared) meal. It's close to other restaurants so if you want a late night cocktail or start the night somewhere else it works perfectly. They only serve beer & wine so it's definitely for the wine lover looking for a delicious entree to pair. "

  • "This is our third time at Roberts. Every time the food was great. We had the mushroom lasanga and chicken breast. There was enough food for a second meal. Very nice wine list. Will be going to Roberts later this year when we are Wine tasting again. "

  • "We were a group of 16 and wanted to be seated at tables of four. Trevor went the extra mile to see that it happened on a busy Friday night. Everyone raved about their dinners & not one complaint was voiced. Believe me when I say this was some kind of miracle. Ate at another restaurant off the square the next night that did not hold a candle to Roberts. Recommend the lamb."

  • "We visited Robert's 3 times in April & May. Lunch out front with friends & a dog , a Birthday dinner, & lunch on Mother's Day. All 3 times we had perfect service, even on Mother's Day when every seat was taken & people were waiting for tables. All 3 times the food was wonderful & looked beautiful. Robert's is the best & most professional restaurant in the area & is that way every time you visit."

  • "We went on Mother's Day so it was pretty packed. We thought there would have been a Mother's Day brunch menu, but it was just the normal lunch one. We ordered drinks, which came pretty quick. We then ordered appetizers and our meals at the same time. We hadn't received our appetizers after 45 minutes and when we asked the waiter he said the kitchen was backed up. We then saw him go to the computer- he probably never put the order for the appetizers in because they came with our meals. The food was GREAT and the portions were pretty good size except for the quiche which was rather small. The kids had the burger, which was HUGE and they didn't finish it. I had the Turkey BLT which was fantastic. I would love to come back for dinner sometime."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner here, pleasant atmosphere. Server was friendly but not polished. The flavor of our dinners was very good; however, both entrees arrived lukewarm at best. For the price, would expect a little better. Still, we would return as we liked the menu and atmosphere."

  • "I booked a reservation at Robert's over a month in advance using only their website as a guide. I live 1800 miles from Paso Robles and wanted to plan a surprise weekend. The only thing that was "slightly" and I mean "slightly" disappointing was the white wine by the glass list. With so many vineyards literally in the back yard, there wasn't a notable Chardonnay to be had. The service was impecable as were the appetizers, entrees and desserts (of which we had multiples). This is a home run restaurant - very comfortable atmosphere - casual or dressed to the nines - everyone is welcome. It was a great dining experience. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Robert's was the capper of a great wine county day. Atmosphere fit our after-wine-tasting mood. Food and service were excellent. A little lower cost menu drove our final decision, but the value was greater than anything else we might have found. It wouldn't be easy to find anything as good in San Francisco and it was one of those "once every few years" dining experiences to treasure. Kudos!"

  • "Robert's is by far our favorite restaurant in Paso. My husband and I stared with the soup. I had the broccoli and my husband the tomato. Both were excellent. I went on to have the pan roasted salmon and my husband had the rib eye. The meal was flawless and with the reasonable corkage of only $10 this is the place to be! Ambience is great and the service was great too!"

  • "I had dinner here at 7 on a Saturday evening and was amazed that the restaurant wasn't full. The waiter was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The chefs made an excellent meal that was perfectly cooked. At some places the kitchen knows that it is clever and wants you to notice it too. Here, it's obvious that the chefs are talented. However, they're focused on making something you want to eat instead of showing off. The salmon and steak were excellent, as was the chocolate mousse. "
