Diner Reviews
  • "Roberts is our favorite restaurant in Paso Robles. We have eaten there many times and have taken many guests. The food is always very good to excellent, if a bit too salty at times. Tuesday evening, we asked for more bread to finish the good tapenade and were told the restaurant was out of bread! If it were my place, I would have hustled to Albertson's to have some bread on hand. The recommended wine was also "out"' so I had to settle for something I would not have chosen. Lastly, and this May be petty, we were served quite some time after those who arrived after us. We will gladly eat at Roberts again, but we may just try somewhere new, too."

  • "We were in town for a short visit and stopped at Robert's for lunch based on other OpenTable reviews. Outdoor dining was available, but we opted for the elegant dining room. Service was prompt, helpful, and efficient, and the food was great. I had a salmon salad with perfectly cooked salmon on a bed of spinach with sautéd mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. Others in my party had the panini and the soup and grilled cheese. Beautiful presentations, ample serving size, and incredibly reasonable prices. All in all, a great experience and a positive introduction to what Paso Robles has to offer."

  • "Pork belly appetizer with apples and coleslaw is amazing. Beef stroganoff was the house specialty and was excellent. Wine selection was great especially that you could have every one on the list by the glass or bottle. Fabulous! Thank you. Restaurant noise was a little loud."

  • "We had the most delightful evening at Robert's. Every aspect of great dining exists in this exceptional restaurant. The staff was warm and friendly, the decor was beautiful, great lighting, we loved the choice of music being played softly in the background, the dining selections were exciting and truly delicious, all in all, 'twas perfection. We wish this restaurant were around the corner from us in LA. We were thrilled to have discovered this gem and highly recommend it."

  • "Robert's Restraunt is the best restaurant that we have eaten at in Paso Robles. I was blown away by the flavor combinations, textures, and appearance of our dishes. We will eat at Robert's again as soon as we can find an excuse to drive to Paso Robles."

  • "Nice local wine selections by the bottle or by the glass, Something for everyone on the creative nouveau Americana menu, service personable and attentive, American Standards carry the relaxed atmosphere. Overall a nice evening with friends."

  • "We expected a nice dinner, but Robert's exceeded the expectations of six well-traveled foodies. The food is described as modern American with a French flare, and that's a pretty apt definition for dishes like stroganoff made with fork tender beef shortrib, mushroom lasagne with a bechamel-like creme sauce, wedge salad with chipotle ranch dressing and carmelized onions. The dining room is comfortable and casual, yet refined, where smart jeans and white table cloths happily co-exist. The people were very friendly and the service attentive, just the way you like it. Add a nice selection of good local wines at reasonable prices, and you've got a winning combination. An easy choice when visiting Paso Robles, indeed one not to miss!"

  • "Our experience at Robert's was superb. We had wonderful service throughout the entire evening. Ambience was extremely comfortable. I highly recommend the Ribeye Steak and/or the Wild Mushroom Lasagne (that my wife had). If these items were any indication to the rest of the menu, then I will be back here for sure. Enjoy Robert's for a PERFECT end to a great day!"

  • "Very pleasant restaurant. Sort of a 50's elegance décor. Lamb chops were nicely done with a generous amount of red wine sauce. Nice place to come when you want straightforward American-style food. Prices are very reasonable for good restaurants in the Paso area. Much better food frankly than some of the more expensive and highly-recommended - places we've tried when we've visited Paso. Service could have been just a touch more attentive given the small crowd at the early hour in which we dined."

  • "Great atmosphere and decor, delectable and perfectly cooked food, outstanding service. If you didn't know you were in Paso Robles, CA, you'd think you were in NY or Paris. Thanks Jill for taking such good care of us!!"

  • "A group of eight of us were visiting Paso Robles for the weekend and had dinner at Robert's for my husband's birthday. It was the perfect place. The food was exceptional, and the service was excellent. The ambiance was just right, although there was a somewhat boisterous group at a corner table...oh, wait...that was us! We've gone there for several years on our Paso weekends and have never been disappointed. We'll definitely be there next year!"

  • "I just moved to the area and Robert's is a great find in downtown Paso Robles. I had the halibut and it couldn't have been better. I will definitely make this a regular part of my restaurant rotation!"

  • "We were a group of 16 and the restaurant is small. We could not sit together and in fact were seated on opposite sides of a wall. We did not see the rest of our group the entire meal. I was there 2 years ago and it was great so we returned. However, this time I was not impressed."

  • "We were in the Paso Robles area in both October and the second week of March this year and ate at Robert's both times. Great food, reasonable prices, reasonably quiet compared to Buona Tavola, our other favorite restaurant in PR."

  • "It was everything we hoped it would be until the meal came. For my wife's birthday dinner, she had the macadamia nut encrusted halibut. Excellent! I had the Filet Mignon with garlic mashed and subbed some Mac and Cheese for veggies. The food was good except the pepper on both the steak and Mac n cheese was so heavy, I couldn't taste anything after half my meal was done. At that point I just ate the garlic mashed, but now even that tasted like pepper. Had my taste buds not been set fire, I think the food quaily would have been great making the overall experience a hit."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here two nights ago. We had discovered It in January during the "Restaurant Month" promotion, and decided to back for another meal. Roberts is definitely now our favorite Paso Robles restaurant. Great food, attentive service and a welcoming ambience. We'll be back soon."

  • "We had an anniversary luncheon for Grandma and Grandpa, celebrating 62 years of marriage. The service was great! Our waiter brought several wines for the guests to taste before ordering, and was attentive to each guest. The service was absolutely impeccable and the food was amazing. The restaurant is SO elegant. Our entire family, most of whom are from out of The area, just raved about the restaurant, and the amazing value for the price! It was everything we hoped for for our special day!"

  • "It took quite awhile for the server to even come over to take a drink order. And he never asked if we wanted another glass of wine. The food was very good (duck special and pork chop). If you order it, the pork chop is ENORMOUS (but very tasty) so plan to either share or take a large amount home."

  • "We enjoyed excellent food and service at Robert's. Our waiter, Patrick, was very knowledgable about the menu and would offer his personal insights into the menu. The beet salad was wonderful and the lamb was just exceptional. The menu offered a nice selection of Paso wines by the bottle and glass."

  • "our waiter was excellent. Food was very good. Disappointed they did tell me they were going to have a different menu for the evening.I was looking forward to the menu that they normally have. Prices were about 8 more dollars per entree than the regular menu."

  • "Made our reservations because of a recommendation from a friend. Happened to be in the vicinity the night before our reserved night. Happened to speak to a couple leaving the restaurant and they highly recommended the rib eye steak dinner. I normally don't order meat in a restaurant because my husband grills amazingly well. I ordered the rib eye and my husband ordered the coho salmon special. We were very impressed. The steak melted in my mouth and the fried mac and cheese that came with it was delicious also. He loved the Salmon dinner also."

  • "The food was fine. We came in for a light dinner. We ordered crab cakes to share and salads. The crab cakes were grey in the middle and mashed up very fine. We were not very fond of the salsa on top. The salads were tasty."

  • "Roberts is one of Paos Robles best restaurants. The food is great and the service is excellent. The food is always excellent whether it is meat or fish. The pork chop, which is brined, is a wonderful meal as are the steaks. It is hard to beat Roberts for either lunch or dinner. The wedge salad is fantastic and the wine list has a lot of great Paso Robles wines which go with any thing you order. If you bring your own wine the corkage fee is only $10.00 which is a great value. It would be hard to beat Roberts for a meal in Paso. Often the chef will come by the table and talk about the food and he is very good about answering questions about anything they make."

  • "New experiene for us. Brought out of town guests. They were impressed that Paso had such a wonderful place. The opted for the $30 fixed price dinner. We all had the fish. It was done to perfection. We really enjoyed the setting and the service with a smile."

  • "Out of the 4 diner's, not one would order the same entree again. Tomato soup was lacking flavor. Not only brought the wrong entree for one of the guests, couldn't get the orders to the correct recipient."

  • "Roberts is a great restaurant from the food, service and white table cloths. The food is excellent we had a wonderful meal of short ribs and pasta with the wedge salad and it was wonderful. If you are in Paso it is a great place for dinner and they have a very good lunch menu. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. The chef comes out and talks to you about your meal and experience which is really nice."

  • "Roberts is a wonderful restaurant in Paso Robles. Great food, location and ambience. The staff and service was excellent! I used Open Table to make the reservation and requested a special table setup by the window for a birthday luncheon. They had the table perfectly set up for us and made the afternoon delightful. It is a great restaurant and beautifully decorated-have been there many times for lunch and dinner and always loved it. Highly recommend it."
