"Robert's is not worth the prices it charges. $40 for a piece of fish and $32 for a plate of rigatoni bolognese is excessive. It charges the prices because it's in the Hamptons. I've lived here for 25 years and I resent it, but as long as people will pay those prices, Robert's will get away charging them. Also, there is no need for valet parking in early April. Pretentious!

Worst of all, 8:30, my two guests and I ordered the special, monkfish and were soon told that the restaurant was out of it. At 8:30 on a Saturday night? This does not say much for a restaurant that charges as much as Robert's does.

I also did not care for the appearance of the service people. The server was dressed like a patron. The overall impression was too casu"

"I found the menue a little too high end. I was looking for some more basic good food. I ate here in the past and it was great, but that time I had one of the specials. The regular menue just did not do it for me."

"The Zagat rating is well deserved. The service was prompt by Hamptons standards. The waiter was helpful with suggestions and clear answers to questions. The food was excellent with portions sufficently ample (even for me). I shared the Rigatoni Bolognese which was outstanding as was my entree special (roasted half duck). My golf buddy had an outstanding "chunk" of swordfish smoothered in what tasted like a livorness sauce. The fish was fresh and succulent. His wife had a blackened salmon. Everyone in our party of six voted to return."

"Food is solid. Yet I am always struggling for something that captures my attention to order. Biggest issue I find here is a lack of friendliness from the front of house - as we were leaving, we said thank you to the hostess who barely acknowledged our existence. I probably won't be back. Been disappointed too many times."

"As always....another memorable meal. So well taken care of....and we were able to have a 4 way conversation at normal voice volumes....which is so hard to find in the Hamptons. Thank goodness the Chicken and Polenta are still on the menu!"

"Robert's has some of my favorite food in all of the Hamptons. It is great for a special occasion and they do great winter specials for us year-rounders. My boyfriend and I went the first time last Valentine's Day, and hadn't made it back til this Valentine's Day--and they remembered us!!! The food is always superb, although I think last year's was a little better than this year. I highly recommend the tiramisu (a dessert I never pick anywhere else because usually I don't like tiramisu)."

"Great friendly service in a charming homey setting. Warm mushroom salad and pear with gorgonzola salads are outstanding. Great short ribs but unfortunately they ran out of them before 8:00pm. Many pastas to choose from, most with a tomato oriented sauce. A true neighborhood gem."
