RobertAmazing ViewFrom the hostess all the way to the bussers, the service was outstanding. I made reservations just 2 days prior to celebrate my cousin's birthday and the hostess was able to get us a table facing Columbus Circle. My cousin is a native New Yorker so she will definitely be coming back to enjoy the food and the view at night. Anytime I'm back in New York, I will be stopping at Robert.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day brunchMy daughter and I had a wonderful brunch at Roberts. The staff was friendly and helpful. The views were great and the food was a little more adventurous than we usually eat, but we were very happy with our meal. And the dessert (chocolate mousse) was fantastic!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionWe chose Robert to celebrate Mothers' Day and our daughter's graduation. We were fortunate to have a table by the window overlooking Central Park. The food was outstanding and the specialty cocktails were delightful. The waitstaff was first rate. Will definitely return on our next visit to the Big Apple.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice placeA nice restaurnat with a fantastic view of central park. Tables by the window are hard to come by but you can see the view from most tables. Food is nice but not out of the ordinary. Would recommend to a friend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat nightI was suprised with the food, the service and the good vibration of the place (a little too noisy but still fun).
The view is incredible. When getting there make sure you'll get a window table.
I had an incredible south african red wine.
The baby octopus was tender and the lemon sauce of my agnelotti very balanced.
The desserts did not seduce me.
In the end the price is a little too high, but it deserved.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I had brunchMy husband and I had brunch at Robert last Saturday. The food and service were excellent. Restaurant has very nice energy and, of course, a great view.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was OUTSTANDINGPricey but sooooooo worth it. This is me and my BFF's new go to spot.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Anniversary dinnerPastry chef and hostess made a special effort to help us celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. Our waiter was very engaging and added to an already great meal and evening.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot, Great FoodHad a lovely dinner last week at Robert. Started with overly large lightly dressed salad, followed by the halibut with sunchoke puree and then the lemon panna cotta. My dining companion had the citrus frisee salad, the duck and a chocolate dessert. We each had a glass of very good wine and coffee and tea. The service was outstanding, the portions were just right and everything was carefully prepared and presented. And all of this against the stunning backdrop of Columbus Circle. Definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBreathtaking park viewsI'm Guest Curating an upcoming exhibition so I've had the opportunity to dine at Robert for lunch quite frequently in the recent months. The service is attentive, love the menu choices (and the french fries)!
Beautiful room, gorgeous view of the park, light and bright, great for a business meeting or lunch with a friend because you can actually hear each other talk.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent. I orderedFood was excellent. I ordered the duck, which was cooked flawlessly. My wife had the filet, also great. Portions were good. We ordered two sides of snow peas; one would have been sufficient. The chocolate ganache was a wonderful end of an excellent meal. The menu is small, but enticing. And the view is unbeatable.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAll About the View!Robert is a beautiful restaurant - contemporary decor with a gorgeous view of Central Park, Columbus Circle, and Broadway. We were here for a special occasion and the staff could not have been more supportive - complied with special requests, brought a special dessert (without being asked) and were truly accommodating. The food is good but not great - we all had fish and agreed that the dishes were cooked well, accompanied with a nice assortment of vegetables - probably underseasoned, they were missing the wow factor - but perhaps that was because the view already had our "wow factor." I would definitely go back for the atmosphere, and to give the food another chance to wow me...5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Occasion to RememberA friend's 88th birthday merited a window table with daylight views of the Park and evening lights that resembled Paris. Nice service but the tiniest bit slow on a few forgotten utensils. Everyone enjoyed their food choices and nice wine recommended by our server, Byron.
Can't wait till we're there again but will definitely have to save up to pay the check.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMReunion lunchRobert proved excellent for Saturday lunch reunion of cousins -- 6 people with spouses. Rectangular table w/seats at both ends much better than typical 3 on each side.
Table not window, but views still good. Restaurant interior handsome.
Staff friendly and professional
Waiter knew how to charm such a group, what we'd want.
One lapse when someone wanted fresh pepper and got it after dish mostly eaten.
Drinks excellent, food very good.
Place was not crowded -- should be busier for Saturday lunch?
Absolutely no rush, remained talking well after bill paid.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMAD for RobertRobert, the restaurant on the ninth floor of the Museum of Art and Design, remains one of my favorite places for a delightful meal, especially with friends from abroad. The exceptional view is on a par with the quality of the food and the service. Now, with new chairs (the old ones were very uncomfortable) you can dine comfortably. I've been eating here for years now and have never been disappointed. Top it off with a tour of the Museum and you have a perfect treat.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb service, great food,Superb service, great food, very good wine. Visually attractive. Make reservations! Window seats provide excellent views. And see the museum offerings, especially the artists-in-residence.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our 2nd time to thisThis was our 2nd time to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised..the food was quite good as was the service. We would definitely go back...it is not a crazy scene but enough action for a Sat night on the UWS.....4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing view--get the window seatI had read to get a window seat because of the amazing view. We were lucky to get one at a prime time two days out. It was a corner seat, which I really loved as it gave us privacy and wasn't short on the view. We had to wait 30 min past the reservation as the couple finishing up was just hanging out. No matter, we sat in the "lounge" for a drink. The portions were good sized--salad was big, appetizer for two large and the main dish was perfect. The mixed green salad was a bit plain. The tuna tartar pizza was good but the filet was excellent. Cheesecake was also excellent (w/ birthday personalization), good for 1. In addition, the chef sent out salmon tartar to start(very good)and raspberry jellies(yummy)to finish. Service was very good.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is colorful,The restaurant is colorful, but elegant. Nice view and good food. One of my favorite restaurant in ny.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great exceptEverything was great except the music. Far too loud even though we were seated in the distant room. Hard to talk. The singer was awful. Ruined the atmosphere. Music should be background.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI made a reservation a monthI made a reservation a month in advance for the window and when we arrived the table wasn't ready. The drinks aren't that great, I would stick with ordering wine or a straight pour rather than their mixed drinks.
Our waiter was fantastic, the food was delicious and the view was breathtaking. I am still dreaming about the ricotta fritters, those and the view will ensure I will be back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMJust lovely for a city lunch.Just lovely for a city lunch. Great food, great service, and the view just gives you another reason to fall in love with NYC.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food with a great viewGo for the view and get the added bonus of very good food.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOh, the views! On a glorious Spring day in Manhattan, nothing tops the view of Central Park and the Upper West Side from Robert, especially if you can snag at window table! The Prix Fixe lunch is an excellent deal. The food is well-prepared and well-presented. My lunch colleague can only eat gluten-free food and the staff was very accommodating of her requests. Robert is a great option for pre-theater as it is only a couple of blocks from Lincoln Center.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Robert on twoI have been to Robert on two occasions. Both experiences were wonderful!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe most beautiful settingThe most beautiful setting for dining in all of NYC. Spectacular view. Good foodall around--salads and egg dishes and great french toast. Wonderful coffee. Excellent service. This is my absolutely favorite place for brunch. The MAD's giftstore downstairs is terrific, too.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is very good andThe food is very good and the prices are within reason, not cheap, but not expensive. The service is great, the view is amazing of the Columbus Circle and the ambient is very pleasant, certanly recommend it!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAs soon as the elevators openAs soon as the elevators open to the 9th floor you are impressed by the lovely ambiance and warm feel of the Robert. If you are lucky enough to be grab a quick drink in the lounge area before dining, I would recommend ordering a specialty cocktail. They are delicious and fun.
For starters I ordered the Tuna Tar Tar Pizza, which was divine. I just wish it was 10 times bigger. For the main course I ordered the Filet Mignon. It was cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth good. But the best part of all was the desert. Order the Bomboloni. I would go back to Robert just for this dish. The ricotta fritters are to die for and don't get me started on the dipping sauce. Overall, I would recommend Robert to anyone looking for a great meal!!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoy a beautiful view ofEnjoy a beautiful view of the park while sipping one of the wines from their long wine list. The food was great. I'd recommend the Crispy Ricotta Gnocchi and the Bombolini. It's a great place to go when you need an escape and want an excuse to dress up and have a special night out. The live music is great as well.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFun spot for drinks. TheFun spot for drinks. The staff was fantastic, really friendly and accomodating. The service was so wonderful and attentive. The restaurant is such a lovely and scenic place to be. The food was wonderful. We decided we would return next year to celebrate again.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view....but we didn'tGreat view....but we didn't get a table by the window......4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notchIt was just a great experience. My wife and I had dinner here for the first time, and though we didn't get a window table - which we had hoped for as it probably will be a couple of years before we return - we enjoyed the evening very much. I had a very nice cocktail - Mad Manhattan, I think it was called - and afterwards we both had a very well tasting californian chardonay.
The staff was also just top notch, so this is absolutely a place we will recommend friends.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were stuck in traffic andWe were stuck in traffic and called ahead to let the restaurant know that we had theater tickets and were in a rush. The staff handled our situation with excellence and poise. We had a great meal (3 shared apps), great drinks and excellent service. We were in and out in 30 minutes and it seemed that everyone was aware of our situation and committed to getting us to the opera on time. Our server, the host, and the manager in duty deserve kudos and raises!!!! We were truly impressed!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, fun and niceGreat service, fun and nice waiter with wonderful food!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the view and theWe loved the view and the setting. Brunch was delicious. Must go back. Service was well-timed and friendly.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place asked for windowNice place asked for window table way in advance and was snobbed by young female Maitre D. Food was great and our server was good. Nice city view even from our "near window" table.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice view on ColumbusVery nice view on Columbus Circle and Central Park (SW corner).
Good food, not outstanding the appetizer, but very good main courses (duck breast, pork chop, halibut and salmon)4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThere are few places in mid-townThere are few places in mid-town and upper west side where one can dine with a great view. The lobby lounge at a nearby hotel has a comparable view of Columbus Circle. But Robert's brunch offerings were more and with a better price range. My out of town guests were appreciative. We requested to do family style so that each one of us (a group of 5)could have a taste of everything.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were both wonderful. A morning or afternoon at the Museum of Arts and Design, lunch or dinner at Robert, and a stroll in Central Park cannot be beat.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic View of Central Park!We had reserved a window seat a few weeks in advanced and we did have to wait 40 minutes past our reservation for our window seat but wow was it worth it. We had some wine at a table next to the elevator while we waited. The food was good and beautifully plated. The pork chop was a little dry but everything else was wonderful. The view is not to be missed. This was our first night in New York and wait a way to start it off!!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe place has a modern decor and the floor to ceiling windows highlight the great views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Our waiter was Byron and he was awesome. Byron was very knowlegable about the menu and explained things well. The food was great. Out table had the red snapper, cornish hen, and pork chop. The presentations and sides were perfect and the poertions ample. We will visit again when in town. What a great find.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food.Food selection excellent. We reserved a window table at Robert and had a fantastic time. There was a small jazz band playing, the food was incredible, the views were great and the wait staff could not have been any better. The atmosphere was perfect - not too loud or too quiet. Will definitely return next time we are in NYC!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFunky, colorful, modern decor.Funky, colorful, modern decor. The view is spectacular. Food was quite good: my scallops were delicious; my sister's lamb tagine was tasty but not as interestingly spiced as I would expect a tagine to be. The beet salad was very nice. For dessert we had the bombolini, which were to die for, and a selection of sorbets/ice cream which were quite good.
A great New York experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and view at robertWhile the food is okay, I wish it was as good as the view.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticI hosted my family and decided this would be a great place to show off the city and to celebrate a birthday - I was right on both counts. The restaurant was extremely accommodating and we were given a window seat with a view of Columbus Circle. Everyone was raving about their meals, even the 12-year-old in our party. Our server Javier was wonderful and made sure that we enjoyed our food, yet still managed to get out of their in time for a 10:30 p.m. show. Our guest also received a beautiful dessert tray with a candle and birthday greating in elegant script. Highly recommend.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place has a wonderfulThis place has a wonderful view, great service and an excellent menu.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
