Lovely restaurant with a view over Central Park. Be sure to ask for a table by the window, but the whole place is lovely, beautifully appointed in modern colors and accessories, and friendly. Good mix of locals and tourists. Excellent brunch food, far from the typical choices. Excellent, friendly, accommodating service. And much quieter than most restaurants in NYC.

We just arrived in NYC. Intentionally, we made no reservations for dinner prior to attending an opera at The Met. Looked in WHERE magazine in the hotel room. Saw the ad for Robert. Went on OpenTable. Booked a reservation. They sat us away from the central part of the restaurant. Thank goodness they mirrored the columns so you can see what's happening around with looking at a blank surface. Food was well presented and we enjoyed our entrees and rhubard pie dessert. Tucked away on the 9th floor and worth a try.

We tried Robert to celebrate a special occasion. The room is great and the views terrific! Everyone was very nice, but the service should have been better (we had to ask to refill water a few times, no one ever came to re-pour our bottle of wine, we had to ask for them to clear our dinner dishes, etc.). The menu is very interesting but the food mixed. While some dishes were great (e,g, the chicken, branzino, samosas), others were too salty (e.g. the gnocci and the scallops). The desserts were probably the best part - the chocolate mousse was dark and rich and their special dessert - the bomobolinis - are amazing.
